This is my Husband's account but I just wanted to share that he passed away on Dec. 15, 2022 of Covid and pneumonia at 65. He was a blues fan since he was a little boy. Ten years ago, my Husband and I got to see Joe Bonamassa in concert in Tulsa, OK. Joe had about 14 guitars on a rack on the side of the stage beside him. Before the night was over, he had played each and every one of them and melted our faces off. I thank God that my husband and I got to share this experience together. Thank you, Joe!!
I am so envious of you that you got to see him in concert and I am sorry for your loss. May your husband Rest In Peace.
I'll turn 60 this year - "found" Joe about 7 year ago. Listening him over and over on YT. Hope he'll perform in Europe some time soon. You did good sharing your husbands story here, I'm sure he loves it and listens to this masterpiece now. Bless you!
I am sorry. I lost my wife of 22 years march 14, 2022. Nothing I know of helps but God bless you.
🙏🏻🤍
Was he vaccinated before he died?
10 years ago we said goodbye to Gary Moore, Joe's tribute to Gary's Midnight Blues makes those million miles to the morning light a little less painful without Gary.
Thanks a lot for your love and support all through this times❤💕
@@joebonamassa3230 Thanks Joe for this beautiful tribute to Gary Moore. 🙏🎼♥️
not for me... , or any fan of gary!..x.
@@stanleywissmar3455 its fake joe lol there are alot of accounts saying the same shit named Joe
@@joebonamassa3230 Joe wouldn't use such poor English.
I am a 65 year old Texas and Retired USAF Combat Veteran.... This man has channeled music like Carlos Santana and the great masters, there is nothing negative you can say about him.....
I like the guy but there's a tonne of negative things people say about him. No one is perfect and he has many many critics.
@@SaurianSoul I've never heard a negative thing said about him. Critics critique because they can't do anything themselves.
@@josephsmith961 That is such a fallacious argument. If the only people that can criticize a person are people of equal or greater skill to that person then there would be no reason for critical thinking at all. Especially not in the arts. Just because you haven't heard a negative thing said doesn't prove the non-existence of such a thing it means you've not looked very hard. Joes playing is of an extreme level of skill but he is wont to stand on the backs of those that came before him. Most of his techniques are better utilized by the players he emulates. He just happens to have mastered a great many of such techniques making him both an amazing player but in turn a very predictable and (to some) very boring musician. Other points of ire are his ego, rampant guitar collecting, collaborations, etc... I say all this as a person that admires him greatly but I detest when people suggest someone is beyond criticism.
@@no1mongrel i am proud to say, i never killed anybody
@@mikehood3424 remember the Days are Young.
I've been listening almost exclusively to Joe for the last year or so while caring for my terminally ill husband who passed a couple months ago, I haven't found one song of his that I dislike. My husband and I listened to a lot of blues in our early years together. Joe takes me back to those times.
May he Rest In Peace and may you find some comfort in this difficult time!
My heart fluttered when I read this.
I can understand your feelings so well and am so sorry for your loss..
My husband of 41 yrs is in a nursing home right now recuperating from a stroke. I'm taking my phone over tomorrow and I'm going to play Drive by Joe and we're going to dance a little. Its our favorite song. He's doing very well and I want to encourage him. I feel very blessed. ❤ Thank you Joe!
Bless you!! I too, cared for my terminally ill late husband. This music has gotten me through the darkest hours. This music is my therapy!!
@@maryblackiston51 Blessings to you too. Music can soothe the soul sometimes
I can't comprehend why JB gets hate? Has to be mad jealously...He is seriously one of the best guitarists ever, and his singing is incredible too. What a player. He inspires the hell out of me!
Hi, I'm Bobby. There are always haters. Joe is exceptional and he knows this. He does have a little attitude but wtf he's probably went through a lot of let downs, turn downs and being a musician (drummer) it's tuff getting anywhere but he shrugged it off and made it. I have heard him call the whole audience a bunch of assholes because when coming in the door and giving them your ticket they gave a cheap harmonica as a souvenir.BUT, the noise they made screwed up his tuning, sound so on and so forth. I love his music. Him Doyle Brahmhall ll and Stevie Ray are my favs and I lost my wife of 22 years march of this year so blues are a daily routine for me. Anyway haters will be haters so let them be the fools they are. On a last note, the Bass player that usually plays with Joe, passed away 2 days ago. Something made me feel I should reach out to you as I could feel your pain. Just try and remember good times and Pray a lot. You take care. Bobby K.
@@bobbykincannon9551 Beautiful and wise words. Condolences on the death of your wife.
That old nasty 'Green Eyed Monster' strikes again. ~ 🧟♂🧟♀🧟
He gets hate for lots of reasons, but I mostly can’t get into his stuff because his music just seems in-authentic and a recycling of his heroes without bringing anything original to the table. He’s a good guitar player and is super-passionate about gear, but his music just always seems to be missing something.
I have played this video with that guitar solo over 400 times and it still hits me. Love it. Plan to see Joe live one day....soon!!
Don't miss him. It is a wonderful Blues experience you will never forget.
Time for you to go purchase a little $200 fender stratocaster from your local guitar shop. Learn your major chords and how to transition between them....then the minors.....try CAG together (in that order) and see what they sound like.....;)
I hope you take this advice, It will open up a whole new chapter and hobby and somethign cool to do in your life. Even if your 55, its never not the right time to pick up an acoustic and just pluck it for fun. Some easy intro's to learn: Pink Floyd - wish you were here, the intro to Nothing Else Matters by metallica, smoke on the water, give it a shot, sir.
This man is beyond genius. Could listen to him all day...if fact I have today.
Agree
The song never gets old for me. It moves me to a good place
If you have a problem with Joe, you need to look deep inside yourself, and examine WTF your problem is!
Слов восхищения много,очень..,но чувств,вызываемых музыкой, еще больше! Прекрасно,волнующе и неподражаемо!
If you don't dig the blues you are hopeless. LONG LIVE THE BLUES!!!
Please don’t tell me that the man doesn’t play with feeling... This was gigantic and a beautiful tribute to the great Gary Moore. Thank you Joe and thank you Gary. We miss you! 🙏🏻
Gary Moore✌💗🎸
Gary Moore✌💗🎸
couldn t have said any better
in some passages, it pays homage to peter green and bb king
Joe's phrasing is absolutely superb i love how he instinctively knows what to play be it fast lines or just pulling back and letting the music breathe such a class act!
That Les Paul sounds like Heaven.
God Bless this legend.
🇧🇷😎
👍
They are heavenly to play also! I know because I own one!!! Been my true love for 44 years!!
Somebody ended up with GM's les paul....wondering if this it?
.
A fantastic rendition of this legendary Gary Moore's tune. Joe at his highest best !
Joe Bonamassa always let's his guitar do the talking . This guy is in my top 3 guitarist of all time ! Just my opinion and I've listened to thousands of guitar players . He's Amazing . He's the cleanest sounding guitar player I've ever heard . Never hear his fingers on the strings .
listen to gary moore, wendell ......x
I feel you just something about it @wendallburkhart
Yes you know! Those Are The Blues Lou!!!
@@robertneil2538 , this version is better than Gary Moore's at Montreaux. It is all just opinion. No need to slam a legendary player. Just watch "Live at Royal Albert Hall". The entire concert is on RUclips. It is by far the best live concert that I have ever seen.
Joe's performance's make up for all the great blues players we've lost over the year's!!! He's a superb talent!!! Stay well sir !!!
The Beauty of RUclips. You find a guitarist and a band that shows up, plays like that…and kills it!! Great job 👍👍👍
He is among THE GREATEST. Everyone feels his share of this pure musician.
Yes he is, in spite of the haters
The man is the real deal
Stage presence is unrivalled
Mega talented
For me ist is Gary Moore
And of course Joe is great no doubt about that
His tone is outrageous!!!! His playing is incredible! Man he makes that thing sing!!!!
Although we lost the great B. B. King, ‘The King of Blue’s’, his ‘soul’ lives on in Joe Bonamassa! Such a blessing to have another gifted, amazingly talented artist to see performing live!
Joe opened for B.B. King at age 11 or 12, IIRC.
@@PaulYeager56 Wow, I didn’t know that, thanks for the ‘history’ lesson! Being a classical pianist and organist, I don’t really know much about other instruments and performer’s histories. I do know that I really do admire and love Joe’s playing and think he’s extremely talented - regardless of what he plays. It’s interesting that his voice has improved lately (at least imo it has), and from what I’ve read, it must be bc of getting a vocal coach.
He played with B.B. back in the 80's , I think he was 12 at the time .
@@user-rg3uh4mk7p You’re right, plus it’s interesting to me just how many of today’s (incl. the late, young, SRV) very talented guitarists have picked up on and learned the various styles of their own playing from some of the all time greatest 🎸ist’s (like the 3 ‘Kings of the Blues’).
He is (to me) the best blues guitar player alive and better than many dead
He's already my favourite guitarist of all time , made blues fresh again
This boy fell into a giant barrel of blues...he didn't drown...he drank it all...to the last drop...
Joe and Gary.........My two favorites
Love to watch them express their talent.
They fill your ears and your head.
Thank you.
мои тоже лучше них пока нет
The only guitarist left, who can shred the blues, without turning it to mud... R.I.P. Gary.....
Gary Moore...the legend.
Has to be one of the best blues guitarist around...amazing talent...
As a fan and as a musician there's nothing better when a veteran player like him who's already at the top of his field gets in that "zone" in Freekin credible!
Badass… Saw him in concert one of my best memories..
♥️♥️♥️
Damn that man is FINE...and plays so well makes me cry.
The dark, foreboding mood his voice lends to this song is fantastic
One of my favorite live performances of Joe’s career
Joe + Les Paul = absolutely perfect🎸🎸🎸🎤🎤🎤👍👍👍
Many greetings from Göttingen, Lower Saxony, Germany!
Gary will be very proud of it. Joe really nailed it. I love Joe version of Midnight Blue. It's very beautiful. Well done.
YES!!!
Help, I only know Joe's version that I love. Who's the Original version? Who's Gary?
@@eb6973 the first version comes from Gary Moore...it is his song...Joe here makes an outstanding remake also

Nothing like a Les Paul -Gold Top in the hands of a Genius Lead Guitarist like Joe Bonamassa!
tone - sound and texture ~
True that, except that that LP seems like a strongly faded "burst" to me ;)
@@robbinkoevoets4454 definitely not a goldtop haha
That there isn’t a goldtop haha, it’s the Skinnerburst ‘59🤘🏼
Bad bone
I first heard this song and was like, who is this playing? The lyrics hit home, but the guitar playing just captured my soul. I have been hooked, with Joe and the way his heart and soul come through his fingertips, unto those strings and right to your soul. Whatever “it” takes to be one step above the other excellent guitar players, Joe has “it”. His music has been my therapy. Two more weeks and see him live.
floating of emotions...
One of the greatest master guitarist ever seen in my lifetime, I'm 69 😂
Sooo smooth .......sooo perfect.....and from the soul.
I listen to Joe most nights just before I go to sleep I pick my favourite songs and it works well for me xx
IMO probably Joe's best performance of Midnight Blues. He absolutely harnesses the essence of this hauntingly beautiful song. It enters the realm of the supernatural through the phenomenal tone he's getting from his guitar and rig.
Cause he’s making his Gibson talk, just simply the best tones.
Absolutely Awesome guitar tone here...
wtf...... fukin dont get me started........ this song was written and played by belfast legend gary moore...........................NOT FUKIN BONNAMASSA.
Cижу сейчас в каких-то 15 метрах от маэстро на концерте в Порт Честере и проверяю уши, чтобы не свернулись в спираль ;)
Хотелось бы, чтобы все истинные ценители были рядом...
Thank you from very rural Scotland ❤️ Bless the World With Music Forever 🏴
The Blues at it's BEST!!
Smoke a bowl, shut your eyes and just listen
Hello I am 75yrs young . Joe must be the best guitar player alive today. It's as though his music really tells a story.
I listen every day. Thank you creator for giving us this fabulous musician.
Damn if he aint he should be/
Uli Jon Roth, Frank Marino, Eric Johnson etc...
You aren't the only older person here, I'm one too, and his music is heaven sent!! Love him, his talent and his band!
Keep on listening..try these guitar masters. Warren Haynes... Gary Moore (best tribute Joe!)...Monte Montgomery...
No one created this guitar player, he spent 10 hours a day practising for years to get this good. Saying it was an invisible man takes away the huge amount of work he's put into getting that good.
I really dislike the people that talk crap about Joe B! Not only can he play his ass off but he gives players like myself a chance to hear
the old vintage Les Paul's and Strat's in a live situation. If it were not for his touring with these amazing instruments i would probably never hear them. Glad Joe has thick skin and does not pay any mind to those that i think are just envious of him!
I could listen to it all day and night and would wants more!
Been watching Joe since he started, my son won a meet n greet with him, been listening to Joe ever since , absolutely astonishing artist, seen him in concert 10 times when he comes to England, thankyou Joe for totally awesome music.
Love Joe Bonamassa ...Always a pleasure to hear his style of music !!!!!
snowy white midnight blues
i recently built a full bar in my basement in a blues theme, this due mainly to Joe. i go down and pour a bourbon and light up a cigar turn the lights dim and put on a vinyl of his and it is true peace and relaxation. hands the number 1 guitarist ever
One of the greatest Bluesmen of all times....I feel honored to have seen him for the second time a couple weeks ago in Macon, Georgia....once again, he rocked the freaken' house!!!
This has gotta be one of the best tributes to gary moore in the entirety of time!
Always an extraordinary experience, Joe is musically radiant in every way. Bravo, Bravo.
Music you immediately hear and feel..
Joe I just want to say thank you. Your a good human being.
Masterclass in musicality and guitar excellence!
And deep respect for Gary Moore...
Cosa si può dire a questo capolavoro, sebbene opera di Gary Moore, Bonamassa ha saputo dare tutto quello che Moore sentiva nel suo cuore...... dolcezza, maestria e tanto altro. Giorgio.
Love me some Joe during my chemo and immunotherapy treatment's makes me relax and deal with my cancer journey for the 2nd time first time in 2012 to to 2017 rang the bell and it came back in 2022 and just finished my 9th treatment today hopefully it's working will find out next month after PET scan, would love to go to Denver to see him!
Gary moore will always be in our heart ❤❤...thank Joe for this 🙏
I saw Joe live a week ago in the Royal Albert Hall and I can tell you, after a life of visiting the greats of the earth in live concerts, this man is the greatest among greats. The soul, the building of a song, the flawless play, backed by the greatest artists in their respected fields. I'm a believer in the guitargod Joe Bonamassa.
woutkoopman so I was worth every cent
Sorry so it was worth every cent
Totally agreed! 1st gig I ever went to was his Albert Hall gig in 2009! I went again 2013 but this last time (April 2017 ) was just THE BEST.
woutkoopman i agree joe b is a legend havent seen him live but i plan to for sure his guitar work is just amazing
Amen
Saw Joe shortly after Gary passed AND 2 notes in, I knew he was going to break into this just looked at my brother and said WOW and I'm sure Gary would be proud, the Best sendoff anyone could do, Thanks JOE.
I dont know about Joe until i came across this video by accident and his music, guitar, backup locals and the whole team is so great and fantastic. Will love blues forever bcos of people like him. Thank you Joe.
In tribute to Gary Moore, a big one. RIP.
It is and people on here haven got a clue. This is Gary Moore, J BanafuUp nevers tell any of it.
yeah....r,i,p gary..but his songs will ever stay in our world...or sounds like this^^
I must say he has an excellent Gary Moore like touch making the guitar scream or just whisper strictly using the volume & tone knobs on the guitar. Nicely done.
eh...Gibbons and Gilmore both had this feel in the early 70s. I love Gary but let's not get ahead of ourselves.
BloozeDaddy don’t wish to butt in and disagree with everyone but although I am a keen fan of Gary’s work, this guy to me plays more like Peter green did

Damn. I can't wait for the Huntsville 2024 concert. I'll be there. Love this and do it so well!

fell in love with this...5 days ago...still listening...
If you have "blues" running through your soul...like me...Joe is your man. Who else can satisfy this need for the blues?
Peter Green and Gary Moore
I will choose feeling and passion over shredding any day. I can appreciate technical ability but it's all about touching your soul.
Music is all about feelings nd emotions... playing fast doesn't matters at all...
I was just thinking that while watching this!
