Just bought the Game and it’s expansion. It looks really fun, but I got a bit overwhelmed by the use of the App and all the Rules. So, this Video is an immense help and I really appreciate it. Thank you.
Just a forewarning guys, you MAYYY need a decent sized table for this one lol I was playing on a small foldable carryable '26x'26 inches table aaaand we ran out of room for our playerboards and eventually the terrain/map poured off the table and we had to move the whole setup to a dining table lol however this vid is pretty streamlined on rules, and everytime when i want to play this, i get dissuaded thinking about setting up the whole map, but then i just remember how smooth and easy to play it is, and that's really what makes this game fun.
Hmmm, maybe for future How to Plays I should look into mentioning table space requirements. Honestly it can be quite annoying when you don't realize how much space you need for a game.
@@RollforCrit It did turn out to be a bit of a set-back for our group, but not a long one. So having a warning on that would definitely been a helpful tip lol we were enjoying our selves and then 2 players simply 'walked next' to a Sight token and the map just exploded with rooms on both sides
Great video but I have a fatigue question. I understand how to use fatigue with dice rolls but my question involves the special abilities on the hero cards. If the instruction says the ability costs 2 fatigue am I allowed to place both fatigue counters on the card in my READY/PREPARE action or do I have to allow the fatigue to build naturally via gameplay/actions or abilities? For example, I READY/PREPARE the ability by placing 2 ftg in my first action & then ATTACK in my second. Or do I place 1 ftg in one action & then again in the second, ready to use it in the next hero phase. Or third, none of these & the ability is only allowed to be used once I have met the conditions thru gameplay. Hope you understand what I mean, it's the only rule so far I'm unsure about Thx
If I'm understanding your question correctly, I believe the answer is - Abilities that cost fatigue can be triggered on their own when relevant by you choosing to place fatigue on them. You don't have to wait for another game effect to place it there for you. A fatigue action can be activated once when it's applicable - e.g. if it modifies an attack, it can be used once during that attack. This doesn't count as an action all by itself. Hope this helps clear it up a little bit.
@@RollforCrit cool, that helps lots. So far it's the only issue with the rules I've had, im sure there will be others but so far the rules have seemed pretty organic & flowed well with the game play. Following on from my question, if I can use an example. my hero has 1 FTG already placed on his card & his skill costs 1 FTG to initiate, do I then place another FTG counter on my hero card to use the skill or does the counter already in place allow me to use the skill? Just trying to clarify everything in my head before next game Thx
Sorry I didn't see this when you posted it! But to answer your question, you would need to add an additional fatigue in order to use the ability. A fatigue costs means adding one token to a card, not looking at the tokens you have already. Hope this helps!
just got this game today and so glad you had a video out that explains it more simply ! not so scared of the giant blue box anymore haha
I really love this! I need a lot more games like this.
If you look closely at the box you'll notice that this is just act 1! :)

Thank you.
really great tutorial. Started playing this on TTS on Steam and was wondering if there are any good tutorials about it. Thank you.
Thanks for this. We got most of this, but the rulebook was pretty bad about explaining fatigue and flipping cards. This was just what I needed!

When we first played we thought the maps wouldn't get too big. But then there would be another area. And another. And another. And another.
26ft x 26ft is bigger than my living room..
@@Onwaxwings lmao good point, didn't catch that myself.. that's a table.
You're the absolute best at breaking down tabletops. Do you do requests?
Awesome tutorial. I like it and appreciate your effort!
This is immensely helpful. Thanks!!
Thank you very much! Appreciate these helpful videos!
Just bought the game and I was wondering: "will Roll for crit have a video out yet?". Nice timing :D
We were planning this just for you.

Now THAT was useful, thanks a lot!
Great job 👍
Thanks
Good game, but it's a shame we can only use the app to play.
Yes the kid cartoon graphics sank it for me
I wanted to buy this game, but after the boredom manssions of madness was with the companion app, I think I'll pass
I think the app adds to the game (solo play for starters), especially Mansions of Madness but each to their own :)
