I know what you mean plus it seems like a massive waste of fuel I get that it may be toxic to the Zillo, surely it would be more toxic on a small level and if it was introduced to it's mouth as it roars.
According to comic lore the Zillo beast was cloned though not completely as the clone was unstable and prone to neurological problems. It was killed and cloning started again.

I remember going onto Malastare on _Star Wars Bounty Hunter_ I remember them being more a nuisance than an actual threat. Though the snipers were more irritating than anything.

I feel it's completely overshadowed by other properties of the genre. There is so much content there. My partner got me obsessed with the novels and I have played every game since mechwarrior 2. It would mean the world to me. There is so much content to be had. I wish I could be like like you and make videos on RUclips regarding my favorite scifi fiction stories, but I don't know where to begin. It's a fascinating story of human colonization and lost tech of a previous generation. I think someone with your amazing talents can bring this to the masses.
Shame that the Clone Wars does not explore more the whole Gran-Dugs conflict, the problem of the Gran colonization of Malastere and so on. It could have been interesting story arc to explore....like using the tensions between the Gran colonists and the native Dugs by separatist plot and so on :).
