@Luke Bartlett That's right. They made that appearance in Clone Wars when they briefed on retrieving the Jedi Savave Oppress killed. 😅 Still, now wondering if the other members will make an appearance.
They've been canon for a long time. They had a whole scene dedicated to them in the clone wars. A short scene that didn't focus on them much, but a scene nonetheless.
I was expecting it to come back tbh. I was rewatching parts of the clone wars pre bad batch season 2 and was like “I hope they bring back the zillo beast with the chancellor ordering it to be cloned and all.”
My concern is with Cid. Will she sell out the Bad Batch for a reward? Like you said the empire is taking NO chances and info is more valuable than credits
He grabbed the Jedi he was that were capable, but also were the only qualified ones that he had available. Palpatine made sure to get as many of the troublesome Jedi he would have to deal with off planet, and as far away as possible
When the Zillo was after Palpatine, and the Jedi saved him, he was so grateful I’m shocked he didn’t tell Yoda “Hey, I’m the Sith lord, but you can’t get me out of office for that reason alone!” If they didn’t save him, would he have used the Dark Side to save himself, thus revealing himself
Hmmm...there are so many Clones wearing Commando armour that I think old Palps might keep a nice supply of them around. We just did not see them. Guess they are still carrying out stealth and very special operations for him. Just a thought. Regarding the Zillo: maybe he still wants his hide. Literally, as it may make for armour comparable to Beskar.
This is my absolute favorite starwars channel! You guys are so respectful of spoilers even when you post a video about the newly released episode on the same day. I had to stop following several other channels because they wouldn’t stop spoiling stuff the moment it was released. Also, your theories are almost always spot on, and your diligence with the lore is beyond commendable!
Seeing someone in Clone Commando armour running for his life terrifies me more than you know. Clone Commandos are absolute monsters in combat so for one to be running scared to the point he's falling over himself... Whatever's behind him is nothing good at all.
I was really happy to see the Zillo Beast come back to pick up on the clone wars cliffhanger. It was also epic to see my guy Scorch and Mount Tantiss as well.
On another topic, but also related to the episode, I found odd the amount of commandos that were shown. We know for a fact that they’re rare, especially since the battle of Geonosis, where most of them perished due to the lack of experience of their Jedi generals. I mean, yes, there can be a bunch, but I could swear all the clones present in this episode were all commandos, unless they actually weren’t. You see, my theory is that, with the exception of the ones who have grey/color marks on their armors, the rest are just regular clones with commando armor. This could make sense, since regs are becoming quite rare themselves (at least compared with during the clone wars), so giving them the best equipment to fulfill their duties (especially in this kind of very important operations) would be an understandable move. Training more commandos is very time-consuming and expensive, but producing the armors to upgrade your remaining regs (at least the ones stationed in these kind of important installations) is not.
I’ve been waiting for the Return of the Zillo Beast since the Clone Wars episodes, I’m so happy! With the inclusion of Mt Tantus in the episode and the premise of a dangerous specimen creature that had broken free on an Imperial research transport vessel, I was like “Could this finally be the Zillo beast?” And I was not disappointed - yay! 😊
I wonder if the Zillo beast has preferences regarding the electricity it eats. Like does solar energy taste better than electricity made from coal? Is AC spicier than DC? Is low voltage but high amperage the latest dietary fad in the zillo community?
When I was watching the horror part of the episode, my brain was sending me all sorts of "Deathrooper! Rakghoul!" messages. I was still delighted when the zillo beast reared its head.
The Zillo Beast would be a far easier way of producing lightsaber resistant armor, don’t need to rely on risky mines in the outer rim where you can lose product like Beskar at the mine, in transport, at the refinery, in transport again, at production site, then final transport to distribution. With the Zillo Beast, just grow one in a tube at a core planet, feed it a bunch of energy, then do everything on world except distribution. Far easier and less risk.
Yeah, Papaltine ensuring that all cloning operations in the galaxy, be they, Kaminoian tech or sparti cloning technology to enable him to conduct whatever experiments or operations he sees fit is just so darth Sidious of him. As it allows him to do so many black book projects under cover, be they in regards to zilo beast, cloing new and improved loyalists clones and attempting to grow force strong clones for his future use.
I loved the silo beast arc it literally looks like a bearded dragon with extra arms and stuff just finished watching the bad batch episode about it to when it was first shown in the clone wars i speculated that the armor of the zilo beast might have been synthesized to create the Death Star hull but it never was confirmed I wonder if it will be as the bad batch story progresses.
I'd see the study of the Zillo beasts armor used in, not just defence, but casing/barrels around potential high energy super weapons that say, may need a star to fuel? Maybe even utilize kyber in their design
when I was watching the bad Bach season 2 episode 11 when the creature was fist introduced I new it looked familiar and to my surprise it was the zillo best
I forgot about that scene at 3:02 and now that I remember it exists I just find it hilarious and now I can't get the image of a fully realized Darth Sidious riding R2D2 or some other imperial astromech.
I always thought Palpatine was fascinated by the Zillo Beasts, because it could deflect even Lightsaber blades as shown in the episode of TCW where it was first introduced. Basicly a cheap super armor
What I want to know is the over use of republic (imperial?) commandos. Why are there so many and why are they doing admin tasks like operating a lab? Also why are they so bad? Ain't no way a real commando would fold like the one did in the beginning of the episode.
When we first saw the beast, I had the brief thought of "it can't be, doesn't look quite right" only to have Baby Zillo's identity confirmed shortly after. It was fascinating to watch it's rapid evolution into the familiar, terrifying shape. And with the very end of the episode... well, I guess we're about to see if Sid really has grown (like she claims), or if she's willing to sell out Omega. As for which creature I'd like to see? I sort of got that already today, in the first episode of The Mandalorian's third season. From the first time I came across the concept in the '80s (specifically the Clermont era of the X-Men comics), I have always been fascinated by the whole "space whales" idea. And the Pergil (Pergl?) do not disappoint. Seeing them again was both a nice nod, and, I hope, a hint at the future.
The Empire with an army of Zillo Beasts: Begin the Rumbling! Now, just imagined that scenario! An army of Zillo Beasts on the constant march on an entire planet like those Wall Titans! And while they're doing it, the chain of command has collapse, the civilians are screaming and running and cannons are useless against the beasts! Deploying the Zillo Beasts alone can clearly make a good example of what is going to happen if someone dared to defy the Empire.
If Zillo beast is already that much threat after it break loose into Coruscant, imagine if it was Shin Godzilla, Godzilla Earth or Singular Point Godzilla (I don't mention MonsterVerse Godzilla because he is not evil) that have a potential to be threat beyond Zillo beast instead, what I want to say is Shin Godzilla keep evolving to overcome its biological flaws and almost impossible to killed because of that reason and Godzilla Earth being the living Death Star and can create an army of its own clone and sub-species
This new Bad Batch Episode gave me some Metroid Prime vibes. Exploring a wrecked vessel with the entire crew being killed by whatever they were experimenting on. Finding evidence of what they were working on throughout the ship in both physical and recorded evidence until finally finding the thing. Only for it to pull a Metroid 2 and have it suddenly evolve rapidly from Beta, to Alpha, and into Gamma.
Not only is the zillo beast deadly from its intelligence and armor strength But it is also said in some places, to be force-sensetive Which in turn would explain why it sought to warn the people or perhaps annihilate Palpatine
I was always under the impression that the Zillo Beast was intelligent enough to recognize that Palpatine wanted to destroy it. If the creature were actually force sensitive and felt the dark side surrounding Palpatine, then why would it then seek to kill him?
@@Laserbeak316 because it was trying to warn the jedi of the threat and palpatine knew this. Why else would he have looked afraid? Aside from the beast's size of course.
@@itz.just_nullproductions1038 rampaging through Coruscant and needlessly killing hundreds of innocent people sure is a funny way of asking for help. When I saw the episode, I knew something was bad if it had a Clone Commando running scared, clutching a what might as well have been a cattle prod out of fear.

Maybe it's the replacement or new form of making a terenetek that the sith used against jedi and similar enemies by letting them free since they used them as jedi hunters for their intelligence as shown by the silo beast it reminded me of exactly that
Ofc it was gonna return, it was hinted at in the clone wars, and there going with the whole thrawn mount tantis cloning arc to make fans happy with rise of sky walker and "somehow palatine returned" and palatines goal of becoming truly immortal, i wouldn't be surprised if his cloak was weaved with cortosis to stop him from actually losing. Then again, it makes me wonder if sidious using sith lightning would make it even more insanely powerful.
As soon as I heard they were using it to research the armor I knew it was a zillo beast my mind instantly went back that scene in the cw where the Zillo beast was first in the republic lab
Your theory that the battle that awakened it wasn't coincidentally above it had me thinking: besides the scales maybe he wanted the energy absorption abilities for himself. Assuming he knew the beast was down there then it's likely the sith knew of the beast before its presumed extinction and likely knew more of its capabilities than the republic did when it brought the beast to coresant. Didn't the sith use alchemy to make monstrous beasts like the terentatek and even versions of the rancor? So the ancient sith likely knew of the beast and Palpatine not only wanted it for the properties of its scales for armor but also so he could incorporate the properties of consuming energy Into his own clones (as we see much of the cloning process led to snoke and then the failed clone that sired Ray and the decrepit one on exegol). And when his decrepit form was struck with lightning redirected by Ray it regenerated a little leading to his diologue about killing her and absorbing her. Maybe he did plan it and want to control cloning it not only for armor but for the DNA abilities to absorb lightning (and maybe some ingredients for a new breed of sith alchemy monster)
I gotta admit that the Zillo Beast was smarter than the Jedi by instantly figuring out that Palpatine was the Sith Lord right away at first eye contact!!!
At first glance I'd thought it was a zillo beast but when I saw the size and that it was on all fours and didn't have the extra arm I chamged my mind. Looks like I wasn't the only one who said AH HA! When the sub adult form was shown

@@zero312 yup. And Scorch was in an episode last season too
They were canon in the clone wars. They brought back the two jedi that Savage Opress killed
They've been canon for a long time. They had a whole scene dedicated to them in the clone wars. A short scene that didn't focus on them much, but a scene nonetheless.
It's scary that there were no Bodies found in that ship. I understand Omega's Fear. Also we might get to the Delta Squad!!!!!!
We’ve seen delta squad on screen before during the clone wars before.
@@josiahcochran8290 but now it's a possibility of Delta Squad hunting down Squad 99
Once I saw the huge claw marks in the dilapidated ship, I wondered if they cloned the zillow beast. I was so shocked and happy to be right later on
I was expecting it to come back tbh.
Oh boy
@@mattfk_kbraapratata8996 yeah i know this aged a bit too well
Yeah about that...
Video Idea: Why Didn't Mace call up more Jedi during his Fight with Sheev
Ongole everyone who was there with him died immediately
I‘d say it’s because he was in the middle of a fight and Palpatine probably wouldn’t have agreed to a quick time out so Mace can call backup.
This makes me wonder why didn’t Mace also brought along a Clone strike team along with the team of Jedi?
@@isaackim7675 order 66 would came earlier and bye bye Anakin
He grabbed the Jedi he was that were capable, but also were the only qualified ones that he had available. Palpatine made sure to get as many of the troublesome Jedi he would have to deal with off planet, and as far away as possible
When the Zillo was after Palpatine, and the Jedi saved him, he was so grateful I’m shocked he didn’t tell Yoda “Hey, I’m the Sith lord, but you can’t get me out of office for that reason alone!” If they didn’t save him, would he have used the Dark Side to save himself, thus revealing himself
The intro gave me flash backs of the geonosian zombies ep 😖
RIP clone commando
The scene with Scorch at the end of this episode has left me with a question: Will we get the Delta Squad VS the Bad Batch?
I know in RepComm, Ko Sai mentioned that Palpatine wanted her to unlock the secrets of immortality.
Am so happy the zillo beast is back episode 11 of the bad batch series was amazing
I can't believe it took me A DECADE to realize that "Zillo" comes from "GodZILLA"
Nice to see the Zillo Beast concept being brought back after the Zillo Beast incident.
To quote Ian Malcom with a quote that fits palpatine: “Now you’re John Hammond”.
Holy crap that's why it chased Palpy! Wanted to feed on him
I wonder if the Zillo beast has preferences regarding the electricity it eats.
Like does solar energy taste better than electricity made from coal?
Is AC spicier than DC?
Is low voltage but high amperage the latest dietary fad in the zillo community?
🤣 I want answers
When I was watching the horror part of the episode, my brain was sending me all sorts of "Deathrooper! Rakghoul!" messages. I was still delighted when the zillo beast reared its head.
what if the zillo beast on malastere was a baby til the republic dropped the massive emp bomb
yes a spoiler alert after the tittle and the picture containing said spoiler is VERY useful
That's.... A fair point, actually! Sorry :) We'll think about that in the future in case something similar comes up.
A fantastic episode, i enjoyed the horror and the action, the cloning plotline is getting better and better.
Maybe the Zillow beast can recognize palatines power, and knows it's evil. Or maybe it has some sort of connection to the force.
I'd see the study of the Zillo beasts armor used in, not just defence, but casing/barrels around potential high energy super weapons that say, may need a star to fuel? Maybe even utilize kyber in their design
"Coincidence" and "Palpatine" are not two concepts that can coexist.
when I was watching the bad Bach season 2 episode 11 when the creature was fist introduced I new it looked familiar and to my surprise it was the zillo best
Can you da video on Expanded Universe Ben Skywalker please?
Aaah the return of the Zillo Beast... *WITH A VENGEANCE!*
I forgot about that scene at 3:02 and now that I remember it exists I just find it hilarious and now I can't get the image of a fully realized Darth Sidious riding R2D2 or some other imperial astromech.
coincidence and Palpatine are two concepts that can't coexist is my new favorite line. Oh how very true that is.
I love the magic of the new shows. Especially with this one. Purrgil and Zillow Beasts, I’m digging it.
When you went "somehow, against all odds", I thought you'd finish the phrase with "...the Zillobeast has returned."
The 2 phases in seeing the Zillo Beast return
1. The Zillo Beast!😄
2. THE ZILLO BEAST???!!!😱😱😱
I was really intrigued when they did this. Made me go 'Oh I remember!'
I’m so happy that they finally followed up on that season 2 Clone Wars episode.
He ordered it cloned because he wanted to line the death star with the skin.
Not only is the zillo beast deadly from its intelligence and armor strength
But it is also said in some places, to be force-sensetive
Which in turn would explain why it sought to warn the people or perhaps annihilate Palpatine
If the Zillo Beast truly sought to warn the Jedi, it would’ve gone straight to the Jedi Temple rather than the Senate Building where Palpatine was. It also would’ve tried to avoid inflicting huge casualties on the people they’re sworn to protect.
@@Laserbeak316 it's not as if it can control its size and strength. As for going to the Senate building, it was trying to get rid of the problem firsthand while also trying to get people to see what the problem is.
@@itz.just_nullproductions1038 okay, but if it was trying to get rid of the problem firsthand, then why would it still be trying to warn the Jedi of the threat that Palpatine posed if it were force sensitive?
Why would the Zillo Beast even need to warn the Jedi of Palpatine when it was
more than capable of getting rid of him on its own?
Every time I hear someone say "Zillo Beast", I imagine one looking for an apartment on Zillow.
The clear Alien inspiration for the start of the episode was just neat. We kinda need more Star Wars horror centered media.
During it's infancy it looked like a xenomorph from the Alien franchise. Very cool.
"Somehow the Zillo Beast returned" is something i welcome with open arms
I absolutely love the Zillo Beast. I’m a kaiju fan and am eager to know Palpatine’s plans
When I saw the episode, I knew something was bad if it had a Clone Commando running scared, clutching a what might as well have been a cattle prod out of fear.
Great video! The only thing that bothers me is that the clone from the Rex/Chuchi arc recognised Rex, implying the two served together, but that would make him kaminoan.
The start of the episode felt like dead space, loved it
Palpatine is just scared because he can’t use force lightning on it
Palpy cultivating the zillow really lends some power to the whole "just preparing for the vong" theory.
5:04 bring on the Jurassic Park shaving can full of embryos! I foresee mounted combat between mandalorians and sith now that mythosaurs are back
Really love this episode, was wondering when the Zillo beast would return. Another character I would like to see return, although unlikely in the bad batch, is the Bendu. He’s another character that made an impact in a few episodes in rebels.
Good one, Jabba's son, and the other Jedi younglings for me.
The opening of the episode is already enough to make it my favourite

Wait… did you just say HUNTED!? THEY HUNTED THOSE MASSIVE THINGS!?!
Ik nobody was there but as soon as the clone commando died was 100% certain that it was gonna be the zillo beast so I’d just like to brag about being right

Maybe it's the replacement or new form of making a terenetek that the sith used against jedi and similar enemies by letting them free since they used them as jedi hunters for their intelligence as shown by the silo beast it reminded me of exactly that
Bro if you got a clone commando running with fear that's when you know you're screwed.
When I saw the bad batch picture of this episode on dp, I yelled oh sh- when I the zillo in the frame
Simpson's Mr. Berns and Palpatine have a lot in common.
One creature that I wish would return is the Gorog, when you get a creature that has Rancors as snacks, that is something we need to see more
Anyone else get Republic Commando vibes from the clones running around the derelict freighter?
Sith have the baility to influence creatires such as zilo beasts, he likely wanted to turn them into his personal army.
I gotta admit that the Zillo Beast was smarter than the Jedi by instantly figuring out that Palpatine was the Sith Lord right away at first eye contact!!!
Bloody hell... what next, we're gonna see Sev again too?
Can you imagine Palpatine keeping one as a pet that he just feeds using force lightning.
This episode had a lot of movie reference like from Alien series, King Kong, Cloverfield, Jurassic Park/World (maybe?) and so on, so yeah
I have been watching since the first episode, and I said to myself “This episode feels like it could work if it was in the clone wars.”
I thought it was absolutely hilarious to for once see this incredibly smug overpowered and deranged psychopath SCARED was amazing to see
At first glance I'd thought it was a zillo beast but when I saw the size and that it was on all fours and didn't have the extra arm I chamged my mind. Looks like I wasn't the only one who said AH HA! When the sub adult form was shown
