    The Zillo Beast was both incredibly amazing and incredibly terrifying. I really want to see it return in full size just demolishing the Empire with nothing to stop it. The return of the Zilo Beast was a surprise to be sure, but a welcomed one. However, I doubt Palpatine actually knew it existed before the Battle of Malestar, he didn't control every single aspect of the Clone Wars after, but the thing about Palpatine is how quickly he can adapt to a situation, even when something unexpected happens or an undesirable outcome occurs, he can still find ways to salvage the situation and get himself back on top because he is that smart. Although, I doubt the cloning of the Zilo Beast is going to work out because let's be honest if they did perfect it then the Empire would have been unstoppable, even if they could only produce a limited number just a few would be enough. Clearly, somehow the Bad Batch and our other heroes will at the very least end the cloning of the Zilo Beast and maybe a few other cloning experiments, which would at the very least set the Empire back a bit on their cloning things, which is why by the time of the original trilogy it still isn't perfected and why the Imperials in the Mandoverse are still trying to improve it.
    Also, since you asked about returning creatures from Clone Wars and Rebels, there is one will defiantly see again because we caught a glimpse of it in the newest episode of the Mandalorian, the Purgills.

    I find it interesting that the Zillow beast can grow with electricity. This begs the question, how large can they get?

    • @krzosu
      @krzosu Год назад +16

      I find the idea dumb - for one in clone wars they used those energy artillery tanks on one and it didn't grow - and they were firing quite a few of them at the time and with both good fire rate and accuracy. So now them implying they grow with electricity is a massive rewrite - and a dumb one at that because we already have seen it to be not the case.

    • @chrislaurent1137
      @chrislaurent1137 Год назад +73

      @@krzosu Not really a rewrite since The Zillo Beast in the clone wars was already at its size limit, meaning that it already had the necessary energy to fully mature. The Zillo Beast in Bad Batch started as a “kid” and manage to grow up as a “teenager” over the course of the episode.

    • @emperortethysusdacertified8175
      @emperortethysusdacertified8175 Год назад +51

      @@krzosu Tbf, those were ion cannons, which *disrupt* electronics but aren't exactly firing electricity themselves. So it makes way more sense now that they were effective at knocking out the Zillo Beast because they were probably disrupting the flow of electricity through its body, given how important electricity is to a Zillo Beast's bodily functions that proved to be a surefire way of greatly exhausting the beast.
      It also gives the Zillo Beast more of a connection to what inspired it and the episodes it starred in to begin with, that being the Godzilla movies. With what we know now, it's likely the original Zillo Beast was still in its small, lizard-like juvenile form during the Battle of Malastare... until the electro-proton bomb got dropped on it. Being exposed to Star Wars' electrical equivalent of a nuclear bomb was probably just enough to give the critter the most extreme growth spurt known to the galaxy, turning into the kaiju we all know best... which makes it a pretty blatant reference to Zilla 1998, which was but a normal iguana until it similarly had a bomb dropped on it.

    • @krzosu
      @krzosu Год назад +7

      @@chrislaurent1137 Well judging that no info was given - the beast in clone wars it could have been anything from adult - to merely a pup xD so that is a big assumption on your part right there :P Point being we don't know how big they could really get - what we only know is that they can hibernate for a very very long time.
      Also metabolism like growth - produces a lot of metabolic byproducts - including toxins - so a very rapid growth like that would in essence literally kill the critter in question due to it being literally poisoned to death by its own growth - because disposal of such waste would be immensly difficult in short time order. and that is even assuming it could convert energy to matter in the first place (to provide matter for said growth - which it in itself is quite impossible because it would require its tissues to handle temperatures literally in millions of degrees - which it in itself is quite impossible for an organic being.

    • @krzosu
      @krzosu Год назад

      @@emperortethysusdacertified8175 you do realise ion cannons carry a lot of charge right ? that is how they disable electronics in the first place. so they are both energy based and particle based damage dealers.
      if you need a good look - take one on malevolence ion cannons - what sort of electrical storm they were making when fired.
      Point being if the beasts would feed on energy as it was implied then being fired upon with ion cannon would not put it to sleep because it's tissues would be already extremely energy resistant. it would be like you tried to drown a fish in water xD somewhat crude but acurate description.
      More over - naturally evolving organism usually also evolve in a way that helps to deali with overabundance of food (in order to avoid over feeding per say). And we dont see anything like that with the beast in clone wars - no way to disperse extra energy per say - like hurling lightingbolts from its spikes to discharge the over flow or say like "vomiting ion blasts from its mouth) or such which kinda points to lack of such mechanisms thus pointing out to it not being evolved to feed on raw energy.
      More over it being stunned by the guns actually show that while large - its tissues were handling the energy very poorly - because in essence - it was just tased into unconciousness like say a human would be - just indirectly due to its armor plates.

    Also, speaking of conspiracies and the Empire trying to give nature the bird, it would be amazing if Lucasfilm could incorporate Joe Schreiber's Death Troopers into Canon. That novel would fit perfectly with the Empire's desire to weaponize anything it could get its hands on.

They knew both teams realized the empire is not good and should be dealt with since the Jedi fall. Tarkin knew he had authorized the destruction of kamino. But shouldn’t he have destroyed the exertions that revealed Zillow beast or others not related to cloning of the clones. He didn’t even like that they survived and have been able to survive at all. He was worried they could take him down, since they seen him and if they put 2 and 2 together, they would have trouble(palp) saving tarkin. Crosshairs had taken out an officer who had betrayed/broke moral rules of the republic, they knew he did them a favor in removing the bad officer, and what he didn’t expect was his warning to them. On another topic, but also related to the episode, I found odd the amount of commandos that were shown. We know for a fact that they’re rare, especially since the battle of Geonosis, where most of them perished due to the lack of experience of their Jedi generals. I mean, yes, there can be a bunch, but I could swear all the clones present in this episode were all commandos, unless they actually weren’t.
    You see, my theory is that, with the exception of the ones who have grey/color marks on their armors, the rest are just regular clones with commando armor. This could make sense, since regs are becoming quite rare themselves (at least compared with during the clone wars), so giving them the best equipment to fulfill their duties (especially in this kind of very important operations) would be an understandable move. Training more commandos is very time-consuming and expensive, but producing the armors to upgrade your remaining regs (at least the ones stationed in these kind of important installations) is not.

With the Zillo Beast, just grow one in a tube at a core planet, feed it a bunch of energy, then do everything on world except distribution. Far easier and less risk.

    What I want to know is the over use of republic (imperial?) commandos. Why are there so many and why are they doing admin tasks like operating a lab? Also why are they so bad? Ain't no way a real commando would fold like the one did in the beginning of the episode.

    When we first saw the beast, I had the brief thought of "it can't be, doesn't look quite right" only to have Baby Zillo's identity confirmed shortly after. It was fascinating to watch it's rapid evolution into the familiar, terrifying shape. And with the very end of the episode... well, I guess we're about to see if Sid really has grown (like she claims), or if she's willing to sell out Omega.
    As for which creature I'd like to see? I sort of got that already today, in the first episode of The Mandalorian's third season. From the first time I came across the concept in the '80s (specifically the Clermont era of the X-Men comics), I have always been fascinated by the whole "space whales" idea. And the Pergil (Pergl?) do not disappoint. Seeing them again was both a nice nod, and, I hope, a hint at the future.

    The Empire with an army of Zillo Beasts: Begin the Rumbling!
    Now, just imagined that scenario! An army of Zillo Beasts on the constant march on an entire planet like those Wall Titans! And while they're doing it, the chain of command has collapse, the civilians are screaming and running and cannons are useless against the beasts! Deploying the Zillo Beasts alone can clearly make a good example of what is going to happen if someone dared to defy the Empire.

    This new Bad Batch Episode gave me some Metroid Prime vibes. Exploring a wrecked vessel with the entire crew being killed by whatever they were experimenting on. Finding evidence of what they were working on throughout the ship in both physical and recorded evidence until finally finding the thing. Only for it to pull a Metroid 2 and have it suddenly evolve rapidly from Beta, to Alpha, and into Gamma.

    Your theory that the battle that awakened it wasn't coincidentally above it had me thinking: besides the scales maybe he wanted the energy absorption abilities for himself. Assuming he knew the beast was down there then it's likely the sith knew of the beast before its presumed extinction and likely knew more of its capabilities than the republic did when it brought the beast to coresant. Didn't the sith use alchemy to make monstrous beasts like the terentatek and even versions of the rancor? So the ancient sith likely knew of the beast and Palpatine not only wanted it for the properties of its scales for armor but also so he could incorporate the properties of consuming energy Into his own clones (as we see much of the cloning process led to snoke and then the failed clone that sired Ray and the decrepit one on exegol). And when his decrepit form was struck with lightning redirected by Ray it regenerated a little leading to his diologue about killing her and absorbing her. Maybe he did plan it and want to control cloning it not only for armor but for the DNA abilities to absorb lightning (and maybe some ingredients for a new breed of sith alchemy monster)
