In Swtor you gain a trandoshan companion, when you give him gifts two of his lines are "it's kindness you show" or "shall keep" and this is upon receiving gifts he likes.
The fact that Trandoshans will eat their shedded skin is actually pretty accurate to many real world reptiles.
Bossk is definitely the most underrated bounty hunter from one of the most underrated species in all of Star Wars
How old was he anyway? He was an adult in the clone Wars, as well as in rebel era.

He was one of my favorites to play in the new Battlefront 2, the fact this dude squared off with so many badasses, and both worked and fought with Boba. I get mad Scorpion vibes from Mortal Kombat with Bossk. Neutral characters always catch my interest ^w^ may his hunt continue, even if Disney screws us with woke propaganda

*Fun fact:* Bossk's last appereance in Legends was during the Yuuzhan Vong War. Near the end of the conflict, he was already retired and also met Han in a space station, mocking Chewbacca's death in Solo's face. This caused a fight that ended with both men being sent to detention cells

The fact that there is a species of Large Reptilian marauders, big and strong enough to square up to wookiees, and have a whole society based around the honor of hunting prey, is just plain awesome and why I they’re probably my favorite species in Star Wars. Also the ACP array gun in republic commando sounds amazing.

Bossk was my first action figure in Christmas 1980, hadn’t even seen a single Star Wars yet, much less Empire. And I remember thinking he was some kind of alien space Christian or priest because his flight suit had a prominent black cross accent painted in front. Here’s to ya, Christian space lizard rev. Bossk.

Man, they're discount Yautja, but they're way cooler in my opinion because they can't just fall back on "AND NOW I PULL OUT MY MAGIC FLYING DISK THAT CUTS EEEVERYTHING IN HALF OR BLOW MYSELF UP WITH THIS WRIST NUKE A AHAHAAAAHHAAAA!". No. They are interesting warriors because they actually have to fight you on _mostly_ equal ground.

The feud between them has probably been going on since their equivalent of our time now, if they are in the same system then they could send craft like we have now but armed.

Plo Koon’s master was a Wookiee (Tyvokka) and his padawan was a Trandoshan. I wonder if his master and padawan ever met. How Plo Koon felt about it. Someone was trooling him or it was a lesson.

Trandoshans are my favorite race. I once tried making a trandoshan, but the name generator came up with the name "Poggo Darzehk", so i gave him the nickname "Poggers". Raised in unusually civil conditions for a young scaly boi, he eventually fell into a gang of illegal speeder racers. After a massive racer bust that resulted in him losing his speeder, he discovered podracing on an annual vacation to tatooine. After meeting with Clegg Holdfast at a mos espa cantina after the boonta eve classic, Poggo decided to become a podracer pilot, mostly because he missed the adrenaline of racing. a pure adrenaline junkie, his pod was custom-built out of the remains of a scrapped Titan 2150, with all safety mechanisms removed. When asked about why he removed all of the safety devices, he would simply laugh and say he doesn't need them. To get through sharp turns, he employs a special technique he calls "slip-cancel" to sling his podracer sideways at incredible speed, engaging the booster the moment he regains forward momentum. This technique, unseen in any other pilot, has even managed to take Sebulba by surprise on a few occasions, simply because nobody knows when or where he'll slide into the lead with his engines completely sideways, or zip by at top speed when his opponent is still accelerating from the turn. While he is a very dangerous opponent to tussle with on the track, he's far from evil due to his upbringing on coruscant, at worst being an abrasive jerk. as such, he records his races with cameras in his pod, and to date is the only racer to catch sebulba's cheating and live to tell the tale. Unfortunately, this really got to the Dug, who now has Poggo in his sights, and he is bent on revenge.

So you basically dreamt up a giant space lizard man, gave him a british nickname and made him invent pod drifting? You should really consider making this into a full story, I'm genuinely interested in what this character would get up to during the wars and all that.
@@torgejh9189 i'm actually in the process of writing one. i've since made a few changes. his name has been changed to "Syh" (as in sigh), and instead of getting into podracing because of meeting clegg, he instead takes clegg's place by entering as a backup racer. this is when he first employs his pod-drifting, passing sebulba in the entrance to the arena, his pod just barely grazing Sebulba's. an impressive feat given just how big titan 2150 engines are (see Ratts Tyrell)

I always figured that the Saurin came from Trandoshans who were kidnapped by Rakatans and genetically engineered to make a servant species: smaller, less hostile, and with greater dexterity.
the trandoshans were always interesting to me, the thing i loved most was their faith: the score keeper technically keeps score in all things, so a trandoshan doesn't have to be a hunter to get a good score in their faith. they could be a doctor where their score is a number of patients they've helped, or anything else really.
I wanna see a series centered around the Trandoshans being total galactic predators! I wanna see them going on Wookiee hunts and defeating those hair balls in one v one brawls! I wanna see these awesome lizards doing awesome things, not just being some lame background character or henchmen!

The kids adorably stalking each other throughout the house is news to me. I distinctly recall that the first thing any living Trandoshan ever did was devouring his/her siblings who were unfortunate enough to hatch after them.

It wouldn't surprise me if that was just something Boosks family does, or if it's just more of a case by case kinda deal.
I could imagine a lot of Trandoshan families going out of their way to make sure that doesn't happen, especially as more outside influence appears in their culture.

I actually had like a friend group of Star Wars people like me and the group was called the trandoshan clan, I was the leader with my best friend being second in command. We got bullied a little bit, they mainly called us the trans gender dolphins. We built a small fort with a tree and some logs, yes this was at school. Some people we trying to break it and we’re forgetting that I was the designer for the fort, it still came along good. Sadly good things must come to an end, before the end of the year half the people left the clan and the next year my friend left the school then everyone left the clan but 2 people so I decided to stop it. He was my best friend and got me through that year, since I got constantly harassed through it. The fort was still standing till almost the end of the 1st quarter but one the people who harassed me who was really dumb, decided to sit on the top of the barely standing logs of a fort. The only thing that reminded me of my friend at that school (which we couldn’t barely ever visit) was destroyed. Some older people tried to fix it, but it will never be the same. I love trandoshans because I have a lizard named uno, and they are fascinating creatures. I hope everyone who reads this will not make fun of people for what they love. I say this because I have been bullied before and sometimes what you love can get you through it.

Since moral relativism is apparently a part of Trandoshan thinking perhaps a trando jedi would see the light side of the force as a manifestation of the scorekeeper seeking more esoteric ways to provide and cash in points.
I want a Trandoshan and Wookie duo who were trying to kill each other, ended up saving each other from a third party beastie, and swore mutual life debts.
That's such an obviously genius idea. I'm surprised no one used it yet, not even a one-off comic.
@@kingagrabowska9366 It could be so fun in a lot of different ways. Starting from the early point where they're deeply loyal but not remotely friendly (which gets into the fun "alien cultures are alien" stuff that works like KOTOR liked to explore since you typically think of such deep loyalty as going hand in hand with camaraderie) to further down the line where you have these absolutely terrifying badasses using the best of both's tactics and weapons and making everything crap itself.
@@PosthumanHeresy The biggest challenge is a believable reason for them to save one another. Maybe they're young and haven't killed anybody sentient before. Or somebody wants to kill the other guy in a dishonorable way. Also, the life debt doesn't end if one saves another back. A life debt is for, well, life.
A couple of ideas worth exploring.
- Trandoshan calls the Wookiee that saved him Ghrakhowsk instead of his name. When their relationship deepens they start calling each other by name.
- Both Kashyyyk and Trandoshans have one senator, an Wookies. Trandoshans hate it because they don't feel rightfully represented. And a lot of Wookies hate the senator for caring about Trandoshans well-being even a little bit.
- Wookies are smart and have prehensile hands. Trandoshans are thought to be more stupid than most and their hands make it hard for them to use tools that are not specifically designed for them.
- Trandoshans were the first aliens to land on Kashyyyk. Wookies attacked them, stole their technology, learn how to create their own, and that's why Trandoshans were angry at Wookies.
- Wookie and Trandoshan dishes (Wookie cookies, Trandoshani flatcakes, etc.)
- Lizard dance
- Why Wookiees don't use their claws in a fight?
- Shikoyagu

@@kingagrabowska9366 I was thinking a hunt gone very, very wrong. Trandoshans vs Wookies down on the forest floor of Kashyyyk would be the perfect sort of location. Both parties get attacked by the nature that's far more terrifying than either group, and as such they do the logical thing and drop their differences to deal with the things trying to kill them both. By the end of it, one member on each side is alive and they won the fight dealing the killing blow together. They both just saved each other's lives over and over repeatedly every second since anything going wrong could have killed either of them and they're otherwise alone and in hostile territory, so neither of them can deny that a life debt is very appropriate.

I read the Bounty Hunter Wars. While reading the book, it noted that the baby Trandoshan’s would eat the weaker siblings. This would insure the stronger more dominant Trandoshan would live and hunt.
This probably varies from family to family.
The Trandoshans are a multifaceted people after all and I imagine opinions on child rearing change depending on the era and location on the planet.
The first non-jedi based Star Wars book i read was about Bossk.

What would happen to a Transdosion if it has it's limb(s) cut off with a Lightsaber and is unable to grown back?
I imagine that the Trandoshan could probably cut off more of their stump in order to remove the cauterized flesh so their arms have room to regrow.

The War of the Bounty Hunters one-shots were some of the best parts of the series in the comics. Still have to see the IG-88 one as it didn't turn up to review. The Bossk one was cool
