Man this phone has so many things I want in a phone. No selfie hole. Rectangular design with a big non-curved screen. Big battery. But I don't game and the fan slits prevent it from being water resistance. I wish there was a non gaming version of something like this.
Also I would disagree about the selfie not being a priority. It definitely was a huge priority to make the images as best as they could. It was just the under display technology which limited their ability to make it comparable to contemporary selfie cameras.
i wish the big brands would stop making every flagship the same old boring curved screen glossy phone and follow designs like this. i would kill to have a phone that looks like this but with samsung/pixel software/features. I thought the new iphone would spark a wave of flat edges/screen, but it looks like the s23 ultra is gonna look exactly the same as last year, and the pixel 7 pro barely looks different. the western phone market is such a bore right now.
props to nubia/ZTE for absolutely nailing both battery and performance on this phone. with the same dimensions as the S22 Ultra they managed to fit 1000mAh more battery, and the 66W charger does a spectacular job of refilling that huge tank - the Poco X4 GT takes longer with a smaller battery and a faster charger, for instance. the SD8Gen2 is a total beast with amazing efficiency too, night and day compared to the first generation. i'm almost sure my next phone will be powered by it.

The redmagic phones aren't even good for daily use. Zero water resistance and a mechanical part that is prone to failure aka the fan. Shitty reliability too.
Do you know why for my red magic when I charge it, it tells me I have to wait 45 days and some hours for it to be fully charged ? Even though it says on here it should be done in 30 min
Seeing how well the screen can hide the front facing lens is great to see and the trade-off in quality is something I can easily accept with how good the screen looks! Might be my next phone after I'm done with my OnePlus 7 Pro (which I still absolutely adore). Great review :3

I just bought the 7S pro and it blew my a$$ away !!!!!!!!!!! It's speed is ridiculous. It seems like it's not bogged down with OEM garbage. I could only imagine what this new one is like.
I definitely have to say the model does looks nice no doubt. But the one thing I don't like is the 120hz. While the 7 have 165. Yeah it might look alot with the screen res. But I'm fine with 1080. I think it's fine for most mobile games. Also I do love that they keep the aux for wired headphones. It's just better than wireless headphones.
This phone looks so good but damn, in my honest opinion I would strongly advise against getting a red magic phone. I bought the red magic 6+ and 7 pro. The lack of updates is really noticable. Bug fixes take months to fix or may never even get fixed. Lack of customisation, no theme store, Lack of widgets. Home screen and layout options are appaling. Triggers do not last as long as they should after a year of having the phone. I notice i have to sometimes press twice to get a response. This happened on my red magic 6 too hence why i upgraded to the 7 thinking i was unlucky and had a badly made one. The cooler vents eventually get clogged with dust and make your phone heat up anway. And as a dedicated gaming phone i still dont get why they havent implemented a charging port on the side so when you are playing in landscape mode you dont have a petruding charger cable getting in the way of your grip. I really wanted to love this phone but sadly after 2 years of trying 2 models, the flaws are noticeabley apparent. The 8 does look aesthetically pleasing though I must say

My Redmagic 7S Pro also don't have an option to record videos with the ultra wide camera even after the updates, but there's a way to do that using the pro mode, selecting video and selecting the ultra wide camera. Also it's necessary to disable the ultra wide distortion correction to be able to use video stabilization.
I don't play any phone games, but i really like the design of this phone. full screen display with thin bezel, big battery, no weird multiple big a$$ camera lens at the back. I just wish it has a white colour option
It's definitely a pretty sweet looking piece of hardware. The only issue is that this company doesn't provide great software support. So you'll be stuck with potentially one OS upgrade and maybe two years of security patches. I guess if you are only using it for games then that isn't an issue, but they are advertising it as a phone too.

Fan, let's not make a fan cooling into smartphones. An optional accessories would be good. I wish ZTE makes the non gamers version.

they should go with a motorized pop up camera if they want a full screen for gaming, i been wanting to upgrade my red magic 6 as it's starting to show some age and having some issues with battery life but this awful selfie camera is a huge no for me, skipped on red magic 7 as "snap 8 gen 1" was full of thermal issues and my phone was still great at that moment but honestly i dont know what to do, rog phones are far away of my budget and xiaomi will no longer made the k series gaming phone, shoulders buttons are now part of my daily gaming routine and i dont want to go back to a regular phone :c

Z flip not the best for gaming had the vivo x fold and flip 3 the inner scrwwn is too soft and warps with scratches like where your thumbs are placed for joysticks happenned to both quickly.

Got mine today. The display looks a little bit yellowish. I've adjusted the display colour yet it's still not so good compared to my XR with LCD. Hope they can fix it via a software update.
I love the design of this smartphone, the matte black version, and especially the full screen aspect 🤩. Hey for the Fan settings should i use the Automatic Mode or the fast cool Mode ?
Be aware, although 50mp rear - you get max 12.5mp stills, RM support says the resolution cannot be changed.
We need to see how this compares to the overclocked S23 chip. I bet this is faster with the fan in any test longer than 5-10 minutes.

So does this have the whatsapp issue like many Chinese phones where the notifications may or may not make a sound? Or the hidden battery saver that activates at night?

This is so much better than SONY display screen & overall design..
Better camera and layout design , remove the useless "gamer" button and the fan, and this will sell like crazy.
With the suck software support, bad camera, i don't think it stand a chance in front of the all the flagship
