Looking forward to lots more SD 8 Gen 2 gaming phones emerging in 2023, what do you reckon of the Red Magic 8 Pro? Any others you're excited about? Oh, and please ignore the scammy Telegram gits in the comments xx
Don't hear many reviewers talk about the design of this phone, yet in my eyes it looks stunning! The monolithic shape, combined with the minimum bezel on the front, no camera cutout, and a simple rear end scream good design. Oh, and finally a phone that doesn't showcase the cameras on an ugly-looking bump. It looks futuristic, yet classy. Kudos to ZTE!
This is the form factor I have been looking for other than all the curvy notchy punch holey cameras sticking out like sores garbage all other companies are spewing out. I hope zte launches these type of phones globally....
Yeah, I love everything about the design, except for the fact that it has a huge air vent and fan and no water resistance to speak of. Probably worth getting phone insurance on that.
Definitely a stunning design esthetic! I honestly think that the matte black design was done superbly and may sell a LOT more even if many buyers have the quids to buy the see through variant. Love the improvement of under display camera! and most importantly FINALLY GLOBAL LAUNCH AND SUPPORT!!!
Wow! The front design reminds me of the original Sharp Aquos Crystal which was released way back around 2014. It had an edge to edge screen top and sides but a big chin. I love these boxy designs with edge to edge.
@@TechSpurt Nah. This reminds me of the mi mix 1 since it had the same square design but that slick reflective ceramic finish. Even the back camera setup reminds me of the mix 1 since it had a flat back.
I'm not into gaming phones personally but I can't help but appreciate the Red Magic Pro8 since its seeks to be disruptive and stands out in the sea of bland phones. I really appreciate ZTE/Nubia making this phone and being creative with the design and experience.
Maybe I'm just old but do people really care about the selfie camera? I guess with the adoption of folding phones we may see an end to them altogether.
Love your vids, now for the complaint lol How's the call quality? It is a phone after all. Was also wondering because when you were using the mic on the phone it didn't sound so good.
Well Genshin Impact is the staple and that's already a LOT due to the need for fans! I have a feeling the RedMagic 9 series may no longer NEED a cooling fan should the Qualcomm 9 drop to even 3 or 2nm. If Qualcomm can figure out more processing power without increasing cpu hertz (can be done with more cores running simultaneously but at lower speeds, but architecture design has to be significantly more radical.
I love this phone. Only complaint would be the selfie cam. More phone manufacturers should create unique phones like this instead of them all looking the same.
They have to, these phones only attract a niche group of people that's already pretty small to begin with. 99% of people don't want or even care about gaming features or the extra gimmicks, they want a phone that just works with great software. You'll never see Apple or Samsung making silly phones like these.
@@pabl0sauced0 I wouldn't call it silly. If they didn't market it as a gaming phone, but kept some of the unique design aspects, it might be more broadly accepted. I could see a licensed, branded phones for example.
the selfie cam is the best part get rid of the stupid black hole and let me havbe the full screen instead of a stupid notch or a black dot covering my screen
You could just use the main cam. Or at least that is what I do, the only use I have with the selfie cam of my Samsung Galaxy S20 FE is to identify the correct orientation of the screen, other than that it kills screen space.
@@platine or 800€ for 16+512Gb. Anyway "low" price comes with less features. For me, lack of any kind of water/dust protection just kills the deal. I would rather spend that 300€ more for S23 Ultra and don't worry about using my smartphone during the rain or at the pool/beach.
@@platine It's not even officialy priced yet. For now it's just stores that dictates their prices for the "reservation" of the device on release day. question to ask if I wanted to get a red magic 8 pro. in the void color unlocked for the usa and i live in utah would it be able to work on any phone carriers. or is it worth it to go to a gaming phone to play games on. and like the display battery life and other things a gaming phone can do.
It's interesting to see how much they have changed since the redmagic 6pro where the 165hz never worked with apps, most of their software gimmicks have actually been removed through updates(like their 3d haptics that only worked in chinese games), and even the translations seem better. Hopefully they have also fixed the issues with apps not picking up the right refresh(on the 6 pro a lot of apps dont see the 90hz mode and some games will only reach 90fps on 120hz mode). One critical thing, can you change the default game settings for the launcher? Like the phone really doesnt need to kick the fan in for literally every game but on the older phones you cant change the default behavior so even stuff like pokemon go will turbo the fan unless manually turned off each time...
