I feel you. I bought the OP5 on launch day after missing the previous launches, especially when they were still invitation based. What an upgrade it was from my struggling HTC One. It STILL works surprisingly well but last year I started getting FOMO and bought the Pixel 6P on launch as well. $1000 was too much for that device, I tried it for 9 of the 14 days I had and sent it back. Camera wasn't nearly as good as it was hyped (I'm an amateur photographer with a DSLR so I already have something for truly incredible photos) and it was just super buggy imo. The biggest let down though was the battery/charging. It's REALLY hard to leave OP's fast charging behind once you get used to it.
So I ended up buying a OP 8T 256gb model for $400 on black Friday sale. Absolute steal imo and I never have any major issues with it. However, since then the software changes have prevented me from updating it so I'm stuck on Android 11. That really bothers me because the updates on the OP5 were amazing while they lasted, I've never even had to do a factory reset and it just works. I make a phone last at least 3 years so unless tragedy strikes, I'm stuck with the 8T for quite some time. But all these refinements of the UX, combined with a general plateau of technology, have me excited for the future where my next device can be several gens behind and still be a huge upgrade while saving so much money and avoiding early adopter frustrations.

I like my 10pro too. 1+ is in this weird transition phase where they're slowly merging oxygen and color os and android 12 just felt barren to me and not in a good vanilla android way. But it was nice, felt snappy and really stable in my day to day. It had a few minor issues like pattern unlock grid sometimes offsetting to the side for some reason or badly designed widgets. Now I'm running oxygen 13 and it's definitely an improvement. Like a cross between one UI and MIUI in a good way. You could nitpick a few things that are missing compared to Samsung (like the dex thing) but it's actually even more stable than before and than my old s20. I never regretted getting it but I'm especially enjoying it now. There's nothing wrong with it (apart from the missing auto brightness switch). Thermal management, display, battery, charging times are awesome. The camera is actually decent, has a telephoto lens (came 3rd in the blind test for me and I haven't even taken enough photos with it to recognize my own device), with amazing color reproduction, and it has a really good audio output for my wired iems. Honestly can't see myself enjoying the base pixel any more at around 680usd I got mine for.

I can somewhat forgive keeping the A15 since it was already an overkill, but they really need to do a proper upgrade.

Bust of a year didn't include iphone 14 as first one 💀💀💀

For zenfone 9 having 3.5mm jack, he should have said, " how much courage did they have to put it in this small phone?"
For bust, even the iPhone SE 2022 deserves it

I disagree, iphone se wasn't something people had much expectations for, it wasn't even marketed. Most people don't care for apples cheap phones anyways. However OnePlus used to be at the cutting edge and forefront of android, so seeing how they have fallen, they definitely deserve that 'award'

I was about to pick up the Zenfone 9 but I got such a great deal on the Pixel 7 with trade in of my very buggy Pixel 6 i couldn't pass it up. I'm happy to say the 7 is much improved. 👍🏼

bust of the year was right for OnePlus. I stayed OnePlus from the 3T up until the 8 pro, but this year was the one I had to switch for pixel. it was so bad I couldn't even wait for pixel 7, pixel 6 is leagues better

I can't believe what happened to OnePlus, truly sad to see but hey.. not every company does the best in this competitive smartphone world, Pixel 7 is honestly a wonderful device. Google is looking like the way for me next 🔥

Its a shame that Zenfone 9 was not released in India. Would have been a smash hit if priced correctly
