- This Arifureta cut content will focus more on how Hajime became so strong. Pretty much what abilities he gained, how he created his weapons, and how he overall became such an OP character.
The anime didn't really do a great job of explaining any of it, and it actually does make a decent bit of sense once you understand more of the fundamental mechanics of this world.

I read the novels up to 5, this is so true. Almost all the side stories and even some major fights and encounters were shortened to impotence or cut altogether. The beastmen and an elf do something that take up a good amount if content, but the anime cut it to a 4-second cameo, for example

from the ridiculous plot to the trashy video quality ... i went through the first episode in less than a minute from start to finish not believing my eyes how bad it was , after that , i forgot about it.

Gale claw- An ability that allows Hajime to unleash claw wind blades at his opponent this can be used by his hands or weapons
Night vision- Allows Hajime to see in the dark
Far sight- Allows Hajime to see things Killometers away
Foresight- This ability allows the user to predict and perceive the moves of his opponent
Lightning field- This ability allows Hajime to emit a ridiculously high voltage of electricity around his body
Sense presence- Allows the user to sense anything 20 meters away from them
Precision sensing- Allows focoused target search tracking
Hide presence- Allows the user to hide his presence from prying eyes and other sensory abilities
Illusion Waltz- Allows Hajime to leave his presence in his former location for a couple of seconds
Sense heat- Allows Hajime to sense heat within a 10 meter radius
Precision sensing- Allows focused target search and tracking
Dimond skin- Allows Hajime to envelop himself in diamond hard mana
Intimidation- Directly applies physical pressure to the enemy
Tracking-Allows the user to place a mark on beings or places and track them

He gets ancient magic later on which gives him a ton of hax but I won’t list them as they go into spoiler territory. There are more powers that he has but that goes into spoiler territory.

This is a bit late but correction on overload it multiplies his stats by 5 not adds 5, makes it looks weaker xD
Also worthy of note: Hajime wasn't trying to blast off the bear's left arm. He was aiming for the head, but missed due to his then underdeveloped aim. He even laughs at the irony of it.
Imo, Arifureta's anime isn't really that bad, it's just the studio didn't really explain the world well enough for newcomers to get into them. Not to mention the things that Hajime did when he was making his gun, learning his new skills, adapting and finally mastering the skills he got, weren't exactly explained, if only it had 24-26 episodes this season, they might do a good job in explaining each and every thing Hajime did.
It's really a shame they rushed it, since the world building looks interesting enough for it to be a great isekai anime. Some might disagree with me on this, but they adapted this in a way that might attract people to buy the LNs and/or mangas just because White Fox did a shitty job in adapting it.
that's a very corporate way of thinking and you are sadly probably right. when doing the anime they focused mostly on the "waifus" to atract readers (hence why they adapted it in a way the season ends with koari joining the team).
and sad is is that sometimes you don't really need to explain everything. just give an idea and let the audiece figure it out (like how rising of the shield hero anime never truly explained at the beginning the many shields naofumi got, but it gave an idea of how he got them. or like how konosuba skipped how kazuma learned how to use the bow. sure thoe who liked who taught him might be dissapointed but it is still a nice way to adapt things).
Personally i disliked the anime (mostly watched it out to see the comments), but the light novel story (form what i have heard from comments) just makes me thing they really had a great hook, AND then mostly wastes it after hajime and yue leave the dungeon and Hajime starts forming his harem (and they still try to make the fights looks serious, but at that point the only way to carry the story is to embrace the "One Punch Man" tone the story kinda dug itself into; but sadly doesn't)
The way they jumped around during his quote training montage. Felt a lot like the cave scenes in that time I got reincarnated as a slime. They probably just cut some of the content to get to the meat of the story a little faster but at the same time they cut too much content throughout the entire first season that it just feels Bland for the most part. Although I do seriously enjoy the anime after watching season 1 I actually went and read the Manga and it's pretty damn good.
I think you are just too optimistic, they are just a bunch of incompetent people; nothing more to it.

This is honestly one of the more interesting Isekai out there. It isn't amazing, it isn't a masterpiece but the characters are enjoyable, the world building is actually really great and it doesn't shy away from being at times mean spirited and dark..or maybe more edgy really..but it is still a fun and entertaining read and seeing how characters react to the main character and his pretty damn awful personality is either really funny or really sad..and that makes it pretty entertaining.
Now the reason I got slightly interested in the story wasnt thanks to the TERRIBLE fucking anime..it was the manga.
If I had only watched the anime..I would have thrown this away as quickly as possible but luckily the manga was good enough to make it entertaining.
It still lacked a lot though especially in the later chapters so I ended up going for the light novel instead.
What I am trying to say is that there is a difference between a slightly "mehh" adoptation that might make people more interested in the main product..and a shitshow that will just make people avoid it like a certain virus flying around right now..and this anime is most certainly the latter.
It wasn't that hard to understand..afterall backstory was akin to general isekai..!
Its simple actually, He beats Strong enemies --> Eats them --> gain their power --> Uses his creativity and Transmute ability to make weapons of mass destructions --> Profit
Good anime training: Practice, study, work out.

Quick note: In the LN its stated that he shot the Claw Bear's arm off entirely by accident, as he wasn't yet accurate enough with Donner to aim for specific targets. He muses that it was a stroke of luck, that he managed to tear off the exact same arm the bear had taken from him.
Novel: A couple days had passed, no rescue; a few more days, still huddled frightened and alone; over a week, starting to go mad; over 10 days "I'M GONNA LIVE!"
Anime: An indeterminate amount of time passes... "I'M GONNA LIVE!"

I do think that the time hajime was fighting in the dungeon was way too short. Just two months to travel 100 floors. let's say 1 month and 2 weeks for 99 floors, since he was in the first floor at least a week. probably around 2.

Its like no studio remembers why Helsing Ultimate or Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood are the anime version's of their respective manga that get praised to high heavens. Its almost like not cutting context and awesome shit and minimizing alterations makes a better anime. Its rare a great manga gets a better anime adaptation.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned that Hajime is partly an homage to Dante of Devil May Cry. It was described in the novels that Hajime's "air jumps" came with crimson magic appearing on his feet at the moment of jumping. That's pretty much a big nod to DMC (including the magic circles although those are pretty common everywhere in fantasy settings). Apart from that are many things the two have similarly (and that Arifureta puts in detail that really resembles DMC). I've read the entire series (and am still reading the after stories) and it's really a lot of fun.

I actually really enjoyed this anime but i think they could've started it off with them getting transported to the world and a few more episode than 13 but I can't wait to see what season 2 has in store but really overall good anime and i think the character development was good but could've used a little more work.

while I fully respect and thank the person that made this, the ACTUAL CUT content from the anime could've been shown in less than 2 minutes. This should be renamed, the entire ARIFURETA anime explained with 3 or 4 things they didn't add to anime. 1:what class did on way out of dungeon, 2:mysterious blackmailer conversation, 3:how to make flash bangs, 4:what elixir of life can or can't do. that was ONLY info not in animes
For anyone wondering on how Arifureta got a 2nd season... apparently it was a hit in Japan as a late night anime. And that was pretty much it.

Anime and manga serves no difference in my point of view. It's just a comic and cartoon to me. All I care about is good story and the anime did fine.

@@theclickening6668 Go watch the Charlotte world travel episode. The director there made 30 minutes feel like months have passed in the show. Samurai Jack excels that at the feeling of time passing. This felt like he was in a hole for a day.

But yeah the anime is ok as an introduction to arifureta, but if you want more details, check out the novel, you'll like it.

In another labyrinth Hajime's memories of this time and the only relevant characters from the class minus endo see the entire thing and even later Hajime takes his family on a trip to see his adventure in tortus and they see all of this and the novel states multiple times that they would have passed out multiple times just from watching it
Ya he went through absolute hell completely unfairly and he had to earn every bit of his power through blood, sweat and tears the only light at the end of the tunnel was Yue.
Honestly, the fact you were upfront with how much more effort the videos for this series are, vs what your expectations for the show were, I continue to have a lot of respect for you. After having started the LN for this series, after your first video, the amount of content you would have to cover would just be too much, especially for a series that's sub par, in comparison to the source material.
Im sad, I love this ln series so much, but they way they did the anime was honestly terrible. The cgi was so god awful and half the show or more had terrible pacing. The voice actors nailed their part, but god did they cut out some important info that's important for ln 6 and on.
Agreed, they pretty much cut entire LN volumes to meet the anime target point. With that pacing I am surprised enough new viewers were able to follow the story at all.

This channel proves to me a good story telling tone, method and explaination to re-tell/describe the stories again make me want to invest in it more. I might check out the light novel since many say many contents skipped. Good job as always.
honestly, your doing alot of people alot of service by doing a video like this for such a good light novel. I know I have no position to ask this of you, but I would and many others would be appreciative if you continued this series. Arifureta is one of my favorite isekai style light novels. I've actually re-read several chapters of this novel just because I've enjoyed them so much. The rich history, and plot devices used in the novels are so intricately wound around eachother, sometimes you don't realize you have the answers to some questions before they're presented to you. There is just so much they've skipped in the anime that it's made me slightly angry, you almost have to read the novel to understand whats going on. In fact it's so serious, that I'm unsure if they can actually tie up certain pieces of plot in the future. Things that are setup in chapters 3 and 4, have references in chapters 6 9 12 etc (not actual chapters) and finally resolve later. You don't even realize they're clues to a question till later, and there is no way to actually resolve certain plot points without those questions and answers. We also missed out on some incredibly humorous/romantic moments between Hajime and Yue. Being one example of Tio and Shia sneaking out at night to peep in on Hajime and Yue through a window and making hushed comments on things like, "I didn't realize you could bend that way", "oh my! that's daring!", ect. till Hajime realized they were there, lol. Hajime and Yue also spent much time in the first Mavericks room in the dungeon and "used every surface". The novel never goes into any sexual details, but insteads insinuates tastefully and sometimes humorously the love between Hajime and Yue and explains how close they are through this. One such moment being in the anime that was slightly different in the novel is Tio discussing with Yue on Shia's closeness to Hajime and wondering if they bothered her. Yue had a fondness for Shia and saw herself in what Shia was trying to do, and saw her love was a pure like love like her own. But as she put it, "Only I am special". When this was said in the Anime it was more cute, when this was said in the novel, this was frightening. It sent shivers down Tio's spine a dragon of exceptional strength, and it nearly made her pass out from the pressure when Yue mentioned that she was more than welcome to challenge her at any time for that position. Later in the novel Yue RULES that position, only SHE is special to Hajime and every woman in Hajime's harem understands that with complete certainty and every woman has challenged her at least once for that position and she unanimously crushed them without mercy till they submitted. I'm going to start giving away some spoilers so stop reading here if your still with me. I've already written a huge block of text here so I doubt many are, but here we go. Yue also in the future serves as the representative of Hajime when he is out on "business". See he ends up with the title as "Demon Lord", with Yue being the Queen she sometimes has to act as a liaison with various earth governments that come into contact with them when they actually do get back. One such moment being when she had to negotiate with the CIA equivalent of England in which one of their Shadows were working with at the time. The Shadow determined that the scope of the mission he had been given had reach a capacity that far out weighed his abilities. When he contacted the house, he was told Hajime was out on a date with Shia and couldn't be reached at the moment. Seeing that the situation required her to act as a liason she teleported herself next to the shadow in a security facility and scared tha bajesus out of everyone involved. Oh jesus.. I'm rambling aren't I.. this is a bit embarrassing I kind of flew off the handle there... uhh.. simply put the novel is amazing and you should read it

The anime was fine, but holy fuck the manga gives off such a different tone. It’s bloody and gruesome, and just the scenes where he first ate the monster meat were fucking amazing.
I enjoyed how you used the music from the show when he fights the bear. The music is what made me continue and finish the first season, thank you.

One of the things I like about Hajime over most Isekai heroes, his OP stats are earned by literally going through hell, rather than simply being handed to him at the start.

All this sounds so much better and more thought out than I initially thought of this anime. It felt so lazy to me that he just “got stronger” by being pissed and almost dying but all this actually makes sense like forced transformation and the 24/7 training for days or even weeks
Hajime went from being a nerd to a absolute badass it was the best moment he really changed and got a new personality lmao.
It’s pretty easy to understand: he fell down many levels and encounter a holy crystal that was able to heal him from his lost arm thanks to a monster. He used this opportunity to kill more monsters and realized that he could level up and gain abilities from eating monsters, the only problem is that monster meat has a poisonous effect on humans. But thanks to the holy crystal he wouldn’t die. He was able to atain mana manipulation which allowed him to use magic without a circle. Soon he needed to make a weapon to kill more monsters, so he used a skill called appraisal so he could find certain metals to create Donner, the electrified revolver, or Hajime’s first actual weapon. With it he mowed down monster after monster and ate them all until he got to yue. That is basically how he got stronger.
The manga adapted the intro so well.The anime, was abysmal in not only simplifying this but also animation quality all around. It's like kids used pivot to animate this only animating one limb at a time.

I regret watching all 13 episodes. I more or less binged it at all I could think was "I wish this was better". It was a decent enough premise, not a bad cast of characters and even motivations, but it felt so rushed. That and the shit-tier animated cgi monsters and magics, it was like discount bin ps1 video game bad.
@@jayd8091 i didn't liked watching it, but i didn't really hated the anime (it isn't like kuzu no honkai or BEATLESS, animes i truly regret watching).
AND while i thought the anime could be better the comments from what they have told where the story later goes makes me feel dissapointed the Arifureta story kinda spyrals down a little in tone because, after they leave the 1° dungeon the best way the story (in any media) could be developed, is that if they had embraced the "One Punch Man" tone balance between drama and comedy. but it doesn't.
Which makes me think, it is good i don't want to read the light novel. beause it sounds that, i won't like the direction it later takes
@@ianr.navahuber2195 While I agree the 6/10 story is pretty lackluster and the idea of it getting worse is making me want to not watch a future season, I think the CGI animations really ruined it. Even by CGI they were poor, nearly untextured, 1990s level stuff. If it had been fully animated, I'd probably give a possible 2nd season a go but I think it's on my do-not-watch list as it stands. Which is sad because I really struggle to find anime to watch.

The reason his previous appraisal is so OP is because he had mana manipulation which lets him just use it without incantation or a circle. Other appraisers would need all the other stuff.

Man, don't you sweat the small stuff; as someone who read the LN series I can tell you that you'd need a team of twenty channel hosts in order to cover all the cut content in season 1 alone. They went through 3.5-4 volumes in one season where each volume could honestly be a season unto themselves.

When possible, would love you to continue this, especially if there is cut content that would add important, story plot point context that was cut because it wouldn't fit in the 22 minute long episodes they are making.

This makes me realize that with a first 40 minutes episode and one more episode (total of 15) this anime would have been 100 times more enjoyable.
When I watched it I liked it but just thought there weren't any explanations as to what's happening and kinda went "it just works". Now that I've seen this the characters are a lot more likeable and what's happening makes a lot more sense.
And I'm guessing even the other episodes are rushed, imma just read the manga.

That would be epic. My opinion would be Hajime though, as much as I like rimuru, I think experience wise his was more relaxing. Hajime had to be alert all the time down in the abyss and learned the hard way
For power scale rimuru takes the win but best character still goes to hajime because he never depend anyone for power. Nagumo would continue to find ways to grow stronger. However Rimuru got the upper advantage because he has great sage or raphael with him. Rimuru has so many ultimate skill hacks. He can even resist to instant death or any soul related attacks, thought reading, mind control and possession. He can even manipulate concepts and move in stop time like its nothing.
