Friend, you must listen, also from Seru Giran, Eiti Leda, your head will explode. Seru Giran were: Charly Garcia on keyboards, vocals and backing vocals; David Lebon, guitar, vocals and choirs; Pedro Aznar, who was 18 years old there and years later played in the Pat Metheny Group, on bass, vocals and backing vocals and Oscar Moro on drums.
Ladies and gentlemen, stand up. With you... Serú Girán! Four minutes that take you through endless styles. 1979. And that also includes in one of those moments, the first "Rap" in Spanish! Thanks for reacting to the band of my adolescence! Greetings from Rosario, Argentina. Chapeau Markabusi!
What has already been said by many, ‘Viernes 3am,’ ‘Eiti Leda,’ ‘A los jóvenes de ayer’… But there’s so much more, it’s too much to discover just from Charly… And then comes getting to know Spinetta… is a great madness...
Wow! 4:30 That drum, keys, and... brass? (forgive my ignorance) that was just outstanding! Also: In the past, genius artists were hampered by let's call it.. distribution. It is Charly García's Yamaha CP-70 Electroacoustic Piano doubled (an octave lower) by Pedro Aznar's fretless bass, and replicated note for note by Oscar Moro's drums.
Hello, I have just subscribed... You are totally right , If this groups were actual , with the comunications we have now , they would be world wide known. All these bands started in Argentina a few years before we had the militar and dictatorial goverment. Lyrics are very complicated cause everything was prohibited. And this type of music was not for a couple of people... it was massive down there. Something very special from Serú Girán is A Los Jovenes De Ayer. Luis Alberto Spineta is another genious, the thematical album LA BIBLIA from the group Vox Dei is outstanding, as their songs Jeremías pies de plomo and the beautifull Ritmo, blues y harmonica. All these are from late 60s and 70s but there is so much to listen, As an Argentinian living in Spain I am so happy that these groups are been listened ,even if late , They deserve it. South america has amazing musicians, Chile, Mexico, Brazil, all stununin. Sorry for my ortography or spelling, it´s been long since I don´t wright in english. Waiting for more. Greetings from Mallorca
@@ErisianThreeFourteen Hi, it is great to know that the music I heard in my garage with a bunch of friends is been listened now as something totally new. Thanks
Charly had three bands before going solo. These are Sui Generis (he was a teenager) , La máquina de hacer pájaros (the bird making machine), and Serú Girán (this one) before going as a soloist. The first one was somewhat acoustic (Simon and Garfunkel like), the second was pure prog (very much like Yes) and Serú Girán was a strange amalgamation of many currents, and very original. His soloist work is incredible as well (especially his first three albums). The bassist you are listening to is Pedro Aznar, he was 18 when he founded Serú with Charly (as well as David Lebon on guitar and Oscar Moro on drums). It was the biggest band of its time (kinda). Pedro left the band because he admired Pat Metheny, and he got the chance of playing with him for a couple of years (he did not play bass with Metheny, he sang, played percussion and some keyboards that I can remember). Charly is still around but a llife long of substance abuse has left him a mere shadow of his former self (though he is old nowadays). He stopped writing music. He had an incredible gift as a composer and his trademark (at least for me) was writing incredible complex music that everyone could sing along to just by listening only a couple of times. Analyzing his music you discover what a true genius he was, still is. His best work are not necessarily his most famous songs (like many people here advise you to listen to) but hidden within his body of work are true gems. So my suggestion would be to listen to as many records as you can of his. He will not disappoint you. Cheers from Argentina.

There’s a great deal of social critique at play here as well. This was done during the time of disco music. Therefore the “Don’t stop dancing” little number. They also go after the TV “talking heads” of the day. Besides the obvious influences, these guys listened to and admired Zappa. Onto the next adventure, mate.
What I like most of watching non-spanish speaking people reacting to Charly Garcia is that they bring a new angle of analysis, and I often learn more about his music. But most times and even after I have listened this song dozens of times, I leave analysis aside and go deep into the sounds, the crazyly precise bass scales and the broken drums, and enjoy. Say no more, as Charly would say. BTW, Charly is 72 now (2024).

Hello, this band made up of all great musicians with Charly at the helm, they composed music at the level of any English-speaking band, I recommend you A los jovenes de ayer, from the 1980 album Bicicleta, thanks
I listened Prog since 35 years ago, I have 48. I listened Seru giran and La máquina de hacer pájaros 3 years ago and simply blow my mind, Garcia is a simply a Genius. el ruso, Pedro and Moro are genious too. Que viva el rock argentino!! React to A los jóvenes de ayer, Ahí te vi entre las luces and Obertura 777. This can blow your Mind too.
With 84 years old Charly just released a new album including a in-spanish version of John Lennon’s “whatching the wheels” that was specifically and uniquely approbed by Lennon’s family after the record label blocked him to release it. So it is and will be -probably- the only version on record in spanish. That is f*ckin’ huge.
Probably one of the most complex yet AMAZING composings i ever heard from Serú- hell, from Charly himself! Speaking of him, on September 11th he released La Logica Del Escorpión. This album doesnt have that many new songs but they are quite far off from what Charly used to compose. Guess that's the thing about getting old.. the album contains covers of old songs such as oscure ones (like Te Recuerdo Invierno) and even a cover of John Lennon's "Watching The Wheels". Its a little trip through Charly's whole history in a possibly last album.
Abrazo y buenas reacciones.
Hi! We Argentines have spent our entire lives across the language barrier. I recommend another little-known supergroup even here, it's called "Crusis".
Hey man! yeah, I think people all over the world wasn´t given the chance to know music this great just because of the language barrier and the guys that control the market. I mean the record companies
Great Reaction! Its curious this music was kinda resisted (specially by the, so call, specialized critics) during that time. I guess it was because, as you mentioned, this was music made by elite musicians. Anyway, this was just a brief period for Charly and then He realized that POP music was the way to conquer the mass and, also, a proper way to express himself.
I would suggest you listen to Sumo! Another argentinian band, and they sing a lot in english. The signer was italo-scottish? he moved to argentina escaping his additction to Heroine. Luca Prodan. Listen to "Heroine"!
please read my friend, you are right about the injustice, for my is criminal, if you listen more charly garcia, and spinetta, and cerati, fito paez, (and the list continues). you will see that argentina has genuinaly good music, spinetta and garcia are genius like mccartney (for me even more). i recomend you two albums, from garcia "La maquina de hacer pajaros - La maquina de hacer pajaros", and from spinetta "Pescado rabioso - Artaud" this one is called the best rock album from all argentinian history, is a masterpiece, more than music.
Won´t recommend one in particular... you said it. Language barrier has always been a thing. Within us who speak spanish, there´s a lot of people who don´t pay attention to music in other languages. Same thing works the other way. Charly is just the tip of the iceberg... well, he´s actually pretty much on top of the iceberg, ´cause he´s a freaking marvel, but don´t let language be a barrier. Watched some, and loved your videos. Keep them coming, spanish, english, italian, greek, I don´t care... music is music!
Hi, man! If you like Charly, I suggest U listen his álbum "Pubis Angelical", the tracksound for the film P.Angelical; also "Piano Bar", "Yendo de la cama al living", etc. Saludos de Grumpygrandpa, from Tucumán, Argentina.🇦🇷

Man..... Charly Garcia is a genius, no doubt about it but the really awesome is that he is not the best rocker from Argentina. He is Luis Alberto Spinetta
This whole album is very "On your face" with the social comentary This is a response from the band to people who criticized their debut album for not being direct enough The first album uses made up words as a response against the censorship of the time, the concept being "Censorship is so rampant that we have to invent our own language to express ourselves"
"Ah, te vi entre las luces" - La Máquina de hacer pájaros... You can retire after that.

Hello, this band made up of all great musicians with Charly at the helm, they composed music at the level of any English-speaking band, I recommend you A los jovenes de ayer, from the 1980 album Bicicleta, thanks
Frecuencia Modulada. Seru Giran.
Perro andaluz de deru giran 🫡
Ufff temazo!
"LA MAQUINA DE HACER PAJAROS" 💪
Hola 👋🏻.
Otra presa nuestra
Friend, you should listen to "Disarm and bleed." Charly composed it when he was twelve years old. Total genius
74 :)
The bass, Pedro Aznar, play a fretless.
You should check out a song called "Eiti leda" from the same band, it also has a video.
Definitely more Charly Garcia pleaaaasssseeeee!!!! I’d recommend “Autos, Jets, Aviones, Barcos” it’s a short song but it kicks like a donkey

Charly García maestro visionario!!
Es una locura, cada vez mejor
Seru Giran Is the fiesta súper group from.argentina. must be hear a los jóvenes de ayer second album of Seru giran year 1980 after malvinas's war
Nice reaction bro, you can hear “sucio y desprolijo”- Pappo’s blues. Enjoy it ❤️
Abrazo y buenas reacciones.
Reacciona a Seru Giran Eiti Leda!!! Aguante el rock nacional🇦🇷🇦🇷
It’s coming very soon!!
The bass is Pedro Aznar
Viernes 3 am. Una genialidad.
Hi! We Argentines have spent our entire lives across the language barrier. I recommend another little-known supergroup even here, it's called "Crusis".
Si, Crucis es tremendo
Hey man! yeah, I think people all over the world wasn´t given the chance to know music this great just because of the language barrier and the guys that control the market. I mean the record companies
So I agree with you, basically ha! cheers from Argentina
I'm very Happy that you hook with the music from muy country. If i may, I suggested to hear Javier Malosetti, especially the song "Delpo"
Great reaction mi brodi! Jugo de Lucuma-Invisible or... A Estos Hombres Tristes-Almendra
Great reaction, react to
Seru Giran - A los jóvenes de ayer
Check this one out Post- Crucifixion by Pescado Rabioso. It’s early Argentinian progressive rock, maybe 1972 o 1973.

Charly garcia tiene q estar en el hall of fame of the music of the world
Daludos
please read my friend, you are right about the injustice, for my is criminal, if you listen more charly garcia, and spinetta, and cerati, fito paez, (and the list continues). you will see that argentina has genuinaly good music, spinetta and garcia are genius like mccartney (for me even more). i recomend you two albums, from garcia "La maquina de hacer pajaros - La maquina de hacer pajaros", and from spinetta "Pescado rabioso - Artaud" this one is called the best rock album from all argentinian history, is a masterpiece, more than music.
Me encanta tu reaccion ,Saludos Argentinos ! Reacciona a Pedro Aznar please!
Hi recomiendo "Hipercandombe "❤
I reacted to that already!
grande Charly!
Thank you!!
What do your ideals matter anymore?
What does your song matter?
The fat of the capitals
Cover your heart
Why do you have to cry?
It's just that there's someone else in your place who says
Come on, come on, fame
Your opportunity is there
The same thing happened to me, you have it
Everything, everything and there's nothing
To look for bread and wine
I've been there many times
To sow that path
That never blooms
Don't compromise anymore!
With the bar, with the singer
With the wasteful television
With those well-decorated girls
With those old women all burnt out
People re-viewed, people with a face
The fat floods like fugazzetta!
Can't stand it anymore!
Can't stand it anymore!
The fat of the capitals can't take it anymore
The fat of the capitals can't take it anymore
Don't trade anymore
(Don't stop dancing!)
(Don't stop dancing!
(Don't stop dancing!)
Can't take it anymore!
Can't take it anymore!
The fat of the capitals can't take it anymore
The fat of the capitals can't take it anymore!
Composed by: Charly Garcia
Hipercandome!
It’s done! Scroll back through my videos!
@@markabusireactions fantastic! Then I recommend 'ah te vi entre las luces"
Man..... Charly Garcia is a genius, no doubt about it but the really awesome is that he is not the best rocker from Argentina. He is Luis Alberto Spinetta
This whole album is very "On your face" with the social comentary
This is a response from the band to people who criticized their debut album for not being direct enough
The first album uses made up words as a response against the censorship of the time, the concept being "Censorship is so rampant that we have to invent our own language to express ourselves"
Ha te vi entre las luces, la máquina de hacer pájaros and close this channel ;)
Argentine Rock is superb
