@ Khameleon was only on the Wii version of Armageddon. Neither of them were playable characters until Armageddon. Which is what I was referring to.

@@TrueUnderDawgGaming you can play as Chameleon/Khameleon on Trilogy. Just the same way you can play Human Smoke on Ultimate when the round start. Same buttons. Even on 1P Arcade and your portrait became the "'?" sign.
BTW give Trilogy a chance is a beautiful game and the original PC version with some mods run perfect on Windows 10.

Yeah they did. Half these people playing the game don’t even know that before Noob got his own skin, he was a blacked out scorpion/sub-zero in MK2 and a blacked out Kano in MK3.
Someone said this already but Im pretty sure floyd is supposed to be like the old secret kharacters from the arcade games, which could be the reason why he has moves from other ninjas

I think Floyd will in a future game as a playable kharacter with an original moveset. I'm pretty sure the reason he copies moves is because he's a secret kharacter like Reptile was and Reptile also copied the male ninjas moves in his first appearance
Chameleon was originally in mortal kombat trilogy for the original PlayStation which makes it his second appearance in mortal kombat Armageddon

@@joshindia4962 pick a male ninja and hold down all the buttons on the controller (minus the arrows, select, and start buttons) during the loading screen and your character will turn into Chameleon.

Minor nitpick, but Chameleon first showed up in MK3 as a secret fight. He was fully playable in mortal Kombat trilogy.
No ninjas were in MK3 other than cyber ninjas and unmasked Sub-Zero. They came back in UMK3 but Chameleon didnt show up until PS1 Trilogy. But youre right. I feel like more modern fans forget he existed in the 2D era
They could just say Floyd is Chameleon's real name. Like Syzoth is Reptile's real name. Done, problem solved.
See... this is why we say 'The internet/RUclips ruined gaming'. We can't enjoy a simple addition to the game. We can't appreciate the fact that it's a callback to the original MK arcade era. We cant appreciate the fact the stage is absolutely beautiful. No, WE MUST ADD SOME DRAMA. We must complain. We must find something to upload about.
Theory: Every secret character has always been chameleon. This is why he uses everyone's moves under a stolen identity, and the character appears later with their own moveset.

Its not a theory, its a 100% fact. Its like everybody forgot that every secret ninja in MK history had all the powers of all the ninja characters.
It looked like Floyd and Chameleon are ever so different.
Chameleon's attacks were dictated by the active colour swatch and he had only those moves at that specific time.
Floyd though seems to have ONE FIXED moveset.
Honestly I hope Floyd gets an original moveset and original powers becuse copying the other ninjas is kinda Chameleon's and Shang Tsung's thing, and it would be extremely cooler to have an actually new character with fresh gimmicks
This could just mean Chameleon could be playable in MK2. The fact that Chameleon is referenced PROVES that NRS didn’t forget about him. and Floyd is definitely going to have his own new moveset when he’s playable. Complainers didn’t think of that did they? Its like they search for negativity

People just want to complain for complainings sake. No one is happy with anything anymore. After the ten minutes of hype wears off everyone finds a reason to shit on whatever it is they're playing/watching.
Maybe they replace Chameleon with Floyd so that if you say the name, you only know it's that 1 character and not be confusing and to stick with the letter K which is common in MK.
Chameleon doesn't come from Armageddon. He is in Trilogy too. And that's the game where Chameleon is the default and Khameleon replaces him in the N64 version.

1. Chameleon has been decannonized for a while. Lady Khameleon has not.
2. Every secret character has been like this. By this logic, Reptile should be a subject of anger due to him taking Sub Zero and Scorpion’s moves. Ermac and Noob were similar. It’s actually ridiculous people are this mad over something that has been happening since the 90’s
3. When and if they flesh out Floyd as a playable character, why are we under the assumption he won’t have his own moves? Reptile had his own identity after his secret debut. Floyd uses a crystal wall, I wouldn’t be surprised if they went into this and made him have crystal/light powers.
This is drama over nothing. Even if it really is Chameleon… why do people care? I honestly refuse to believe people actually care this much about Chameleon when many of them probably never played Armageddon, let alone Trilogy. Chameleon and Khameleon have virtually the same name and the only difference between them is one is guy with guy powers and one is girl with girl powers. At least Floyd has a unique color and name gag.

I don't have a side in this since I've been out of the loop when it comes to world Kombat for a while. I definitely think it's messed up to remove chameleon although he does look way too similar to reptile. The only difference is that he's not a reptile. They should've given them a different color plateau in my opinion except for green. I mean, we can play devils advocate and say maybe chameleon's pretending to be Floyd? lol
It'll be confirmed or denied next game, but it should be the game after to pump up the mystery. And if they're not the same guy, there should be an achievement for having Floyd and Chameleon fight
I find it so funny because literally every secret boss in MK was like this. Just pallete swaps of Scorpion & Sub-Zero and later on every ninja that became playable after
People are overreacting. I don't even think Floyd is Chameleon. Everyone knew that Floyd will have all the moves from all other ninjas, just like Reptile in the original MK. MK1 is in a way a tribute to that very first MK game, and so is Floyd a tribute to the first ever hidden character Reptile that didn't even have his own moves. Don't forget that even Floyd's skin is just a pink version of the generic MK2 ninja skin. I'm sure Floyd will get his own moves and unique appearance and which will mean that he's not Chameleon. Period.

If I'm being honest and truthful, Floyd is chameleon, never was replaced, I see him as a new era character which is not a bad thing.
Easy fix: just say that Floyd is the New Era's incarnation of Chameleon. He made some different choices this time and chose a new name for himself.

Although chameleon is my favorite character I don't think Floyd is replacing him just how reptile and smoke had copied.Many ninja moves when they first appeared.They eventually got their own movesets .I'm thinking this might be the same for Floyd
MK trilogy and ultimate MK 3 had Chameleon. I also think floyd should have cosmic powers and light based powers like a prism.

As in, he has so much going for him with a new stage, an amazing intro and every skill feeling so refined. I can assume some people expect this to be the actual character floyd instead of "the new secret character".

Correction: Technically speaking, Chameleon first appeared as a cheat code on Ultimate MK3 and then became playable on the console ports of MK Trilogy.

It’s like how Smoke is Tomas, Ermac is basically King Jerrod, Scorpion was Hanzo Hasashi for the majority of the franchise.. yet they ignore how Kuai Liang has basically picked up the mantle of Sub-Zero AFTER Bi-Han was killed in the first game and brought back for the first time since 1992

I literally straight up thought that male Chameleon was forgotten about, because whenever I see people talk about Chameleon, it's always the female Chameleon (Khameleon) that gets talked about, and male Chameleon has been left in the dust for so many titles.
Another point of this is, I've spoken to some people who didn't even know that there was a male Chameleon, despite the fact, that originally, male Chameleon was more popular because he could turn into more ninjas compared to Khameleon who could only turn into the female ninjas who there's less of.
Justice for Chameleon, Rain, and Tremor 🦎💧🪨. They are always being left out of the bigger picture as part of the MK ninjas as a whole
Chameleon was a secret ninja fight in MK3 and Khameleon was also but just not as frequent (at least for me) it wasn't until Armageddon he became an actual fighter on the roster and on the Wii version, Khameleon was added.

I stopped caring for this type of lore. The NRS community would fight the idea of a block button being dated if the game was perfect. NRS fans are only interested in the hating if the game.
NRS should just add Chameleon as a playable character and add the Floyd skin to that on top of the one's we were given for Scorpion and Sub. Seems like an easy and completely doable fix. All they have to do is provide Floyd/Chameleon with a different default skin and possibly nerf him.
Just assumed Floyd was following tradition of secret characters borrowing moves from other fighters. Feel like saying that Floyd is just Chameleon ignores that. Hoping Floyd makes his official debut in the next MK game.

Both C/Khameleon first appeared in MK Trilogy. Chameleon was in the rest of the consoles and Khameleon was a Nintendo exclusive on the 64. In Armageddon, they were both given the green skins with their own moves

Curious how so many people who are complaining about chameleon being pink now with a different, very often also glaze Armageddon. Almost like most of them played Armageddon as a child and picked chameleon because he is like all of the male ninjas in one character and are just nostalgic

People need to remember that this is how most colored ninjas started out, as palette swaps and all the moves of all the other ninjas. No one complained when Reptile had iceball and spear, or when noob saibot had the abilities of all the ninjas at the time. Once Floyd gets enough of a following, he might get added into a future game with his own movesets. I don't think he's suppose to be Chameleon

I just told my friend about this with Floyd. It mixture of chameleon and the concept of finding rains name. Floyd is 2.0 chameleon.
Nah, I actually think Floyd and Chameleon are very different. Chameleon works like a genuine chameleon and changes colors, while doing so, he can use the powers from the color of the ninja he is at the moment. However, Floyd seems to be the light ninja of some sort. He teleports to the stage using massive light rays and all of his stolen abilities are stylized in a way that makes them light abilities, not just the normal abilities. Also, frosts ice wall being replicated by a wall of crystal light makes it seem like Floyd is replicating everyone’s abilities through light. Following the trend of secret characters, I think Floyd will be in MK2 as the first new ninja of the new era as the Ninja of Light.
