VERY interesting! Small correction / addition: Femke Bol started using the 14 step stride pattern at the beginning of the season of 2023, which very quicly brought her a 0.85 improvement in London july 3023.
I think Syd only did 14s out to hurdle 5, she said she was off her original race plan in post-race interviews, which I think was 14s to H7 like in Eugene WC '22. She was 0.2 slower from H5 to H6 and 0.15 slower from H6 to H7 compared to 50.68.
@@acemethodcoaching9102 I think Syd is hiding her true power level. Did you see that her 200 m - 300 m and 300 m - 400 m splits were even? I don't mean kind of close, but within 0.002. Two thousandths of a second. Who can cruise the last half of a 400m like that, while going as fast in the last 100m, over hurdles, as Salwa when she ran 48.14 in the flat 400 (13.1), and a faster last 100 m, again, over hurdles, than Koch in her 47.60 WR (13.5). Hell, she was 0.04 s off of Rai's run in off H10 (5.18 vs 5.22 for Syd) in his 46.46. The winning margin might not be 10 m like Tokyo, but it could be 3 or 4 m.
Bol's pitfall is she doesn't like to run the first 200 fast. She's stated this several times. Needs to just let it fly like Syd does. But Syd's a natural at this.
to correct you slightly, Femke changed last year to this step patern, in the world championships and the London diamond league before that she already used this step patern (those were her first 2 races under 52 sec). this year she just perfected it and thats why she runs faster now. also i think its pretty hard to compare cuz of different tracks, i think because Femke ran at altitude (1000 meter) she was faster due to less wind resistence, but she also fatigued a bit more than usual cuz you get lactic sooner too at height, explaining her drop off compared to Sidney near the end. on top of that i think Sidney ran this strategy to start a bit more conservative, you can see that when you compare her times over each hurdle with her previous WR, there she was way faster in the first 200 meter.
@@efisgpr it is going to be a tough task for Femke yes and i do think Sidney will win, but as a dutchman i hope Femke can surprise you and probably 99% of the world!
Well, I didn’t look like your prediction came to pass. But, I understand what you were thinking, in fact, I was starting to feel the same way. A lot of people are now thinking that that fast for X 400 relay leg might have tired her out leading to her demise in the 400 hurdles.
Because SML never runs in Europe it’s hard to compare their races because the circumstances aren’t the same. It’s going to be interesting. The pressure is on SML in Paris she’s the clear favourite and the one to beat, People expect her to run a 49’er anything else will be a disappointment. Femke can run freely and is used to the European weather and circumstances, no jet lag to recover from for her. I can’t wait for the battle
Bear the hell out of Femke at 2022 worlds...on the same track together. Beat Femke easily in Tokyo.....on the same track. Femke has no chance. NO CHANCE. SYDNEY IS JUST WAY FASTER...AT EVERY DISTANCE.
@@efisgpr You again showed your robotic stupidity, as you always do. Circumstances in 2021 and 2022 are completely differente from 2024. McLaughlin improved 0.03 on her PB since 2022, Progression of the difference in PB: 2022: 1.59 seconds, 2023: 0.8 seconds, 2024: 0.3 seconds.... Just a minor correction - Sydney's official time was 50.65 seconds for her 5th world record.
Thanks for all you do.

In her last 2 races Bol ran the first 200m a lot faster than what McLaughlin did in her 2 sub 51. Bol was slower only in the last 100m
This is going to be like Warhol vs Benjamin. Get ready for fireworks!
Going to be something else to watch them run beside each other. Should push them both to PB's!!!
No, Femke will be several meters back.
