Maybe Femke just needs to adjust her diet to include more bacon and eggs? All the Olympic Gold Medal Athletes I have researched at the library have eaten 1 pound of bacon and 1 dozen eggs at each meal, plus a loaf of bread. Femke could get very muscular with all the weight training she does. Is Femke getting the needed 12,000 calories per day? Or is she eating mostly a low caloric plant based diet that is low in animal protein and low in fat and high in complex carbs? I suffered greatly as a competitive swimmer on such a diet and was too skinny for my height. I wish I had eaten the JOHNNY WEISSMULLER Olympic Swimmer diet when I competed. He ended up on the Silver Screen playing TARZAN. He had quite a physique. I remember growing up if bacon was served I always pulled off the fat and didn't eat it. That was a mistake. FYI: 1 pound of bacon has 3000 calories and 1 dozen large eggs has 1000 calories. That's 4000 calories per meal or 12000 for 3 meals per day. Add in a loaf of bread or 2 and you are good to go. That's for a 6 foot 3 inch man, so Femke likely would need only 1/2 to 2/3rds of that amount daily. NOTE: Femke may need to take Potassium and Magnesium Citrate powder mixed into a Gatorade ZERO (0 calories) to prevent cramps. No sugar please except for raw honey. She can eat greens and some other veges and berries too for nutrients. I would recommend for Femke: 1 banana, 1 avocado, 1 liter of Coconut Water (100% juice), 1 pint of high pulp orange juice, and 1 pint of tart cherry juice per day. This will provide electrolytes and aide in pain management or eliminate pain entirely from workouts. I also competed in tennis and this helped me greatly. DID YOU KNOW? That pig lard has anti-inflammatory properties and has shown to reduce the risk of stroke in humans.
