  • Back to some racing content! I'm still hoarding a ton of in-car footage so here's the first event of this year back in March at COTA with Super Lap Battle. No data or rearview cam for these races unfortunately, sorry!
    The team made a ton of changes and upgrades last winter to address a lot of the shortcomings from the 2022 debut season and boy did it help! The car was an absolute animal and extremely fast right out of the gate. The upgrades to the suspension geometry and updated Fortune Auto coilovers significantly improved balance and stability while the Racebred aero upgrades helped it stick to the ground! We finally had the pace to race up front, so lets see how the first race of 2023 went at one of the best F1 tracks in the world!

      That's my great friend Luke McGrew! He's a fantastic racer, one of the cleanest and most respectful on track. I always enjoy battling him

    Edit:
    The fight with the BMW and the Vettel is legendary, love how you have been driving this year, the experience, patience and knowledge to make a move is showing your evolution as a driver.
    Me but specially my dad, loves your videos!!.
    PD: great overtake from the Vette at the end, braking such a heavy car need a big pair of balls!!

      Thanks so much man, I appreciate it! You really need to be patient and play the long game in this series because 4 races that grid off previous race results means you can't really make any mistakes.

    Really great racing and finish considering this is a hp track for sure. The amount of space in the corners for a slower than F1 racing series is kinda funny, the track seems HUGE!

    • @EricKutilRacing
      @EricKutilRacing  7 месяцев назад

      Yeah. Cota is fun but in our slow low hp cars, it's kinda silly ha. Still results in some great racing due to wide variety of lines through some of the complex sections

      Yeah. I think I ran auto blip during this race. I've been testing with it on/off most of the season to dial it in. Haltech Elite 1500 with drive-by-wire and 9th gen si throttle body!

    Thanks for sharing! I just noticed how you tap the brake peddle repeatedly with your left foot when getting near the end of the straights. Is this to warn the car behind you that are you are getting ready to break for the turn or for some other reason?

    • @GROD212
      @GROD212 7 месяцев назад

      Usually to check and make sure you still have brake pressure before the corner. Don’t want to find out you don’t have brakes at the end of the straight

    • @EricKutilRacing
      @EricKutilRacing  7 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah. It's become more so a habit but it's primarily to make sure the pads are properly seated against the brake rotor going into a brake zone. Pad knockback occurs when you drive over bumps and curbs which vibrates the pads away from the rotor and causes a soft pedal on initiation. Tapping them lightly resets them and builds pressure to have a nice firm pedal

    is this running stock synchros? how do you downshift without blipping the throttle?

    • @EricKutilRacing
      @EricKutilRacing  11 дней назад +1

      Mostly OEM and sychrotech, carbon specifically. In this video, I have autoblip enabled with the Haltech ECU.

    • @EricKutilRacing

      In this race. I think I ran a 4.3 and the gears were just a little too long. I swapped to a 5.0 after this event. I'll probably be making additional gearbox changes this off-season once again

      I think around a 6 or 7 out of 10. I knew the car had more pace but I couldn't get the full potential out of it. The battle with Luke was fun but a little messy, slowed us down a lot and at the end of the race, he got back around me. Can't really defend on the straight though. You can always do better
