    If you're making a weapon you need it to do one thing and do it well, if we can make a gun that has no way of missing why wouldn't we? That's just a more effective weapon than what we currently have

      bro heat-seekers are tracking jet engines which are insanely hot compared to humans, if you would fire it near a heat source like a grill, you would shoot the grill and not the person you want to hit...

    I think smart bullets is impractical considering how many one would fire and each shot could be pretty expensive

    • @wastelesslearning1245

      Same argument was used for cartridges, semi automatics, and automatics too.
      “What you want my gunpowder wad surrounded with metal and a primer built into a one time use shot? No thanks give me my muzzle loading musket any day. I won’t even entertain shooting hundreds of those a second. “

      @@vegitoblue2187 your ignoring economy of scale and modern manufacturing techniques of silicon chips grow thousands of chips simultaneously. Only reasons we don’t is because a few companies want to keep their golden goose and keep their processes hush. Making a new chip producing lab is nutritiously difficult because the pre-existing companies have first movers advantage and they develop all their important equipment in house (and don’t sell or share how to in specifics with anyone). So new private production will have to figure out how to make the tools to make the tools to make the chips assuming copyright is ignored (like it often is in China or During war time state of emergency economy like in the world wars in America).These problems are ones that can and are being brute forced by governments and if the leading chip companies get on bored for profit, won’t even be a problem in the first place.
      (Electronic guns would actually have less moving parts then mechanical devices especially for dumb guns with multiple firing modes and programmable rate of fire) but that’s is a dumb electronic gun not a aimbot gun. See Bullet Storm for some real life potential. Terns our physical mechanism handicap fire rate.
      Method 2: the commercially available scope only uses 1 computer system to fire infinite dumb rounds by calculating bullet trajectory and auto shooting. Is the design perfect? No some idiot decided to make something wireless and Hackable when should be wired and close system. But this method it’s one chip and done for all dumb rounds fired. No moving parts have to be added. And if you do get over the superstition of complexity, you will have spare parts to spare that could use for a auto gimbal targeting system like we already see perfectly acceptable to have and use in our turret patrol bots. However if you combine this commercially available tech with a e-gun without the gimbal, you can still have a “smart aimbot gun” with the only moving part being the bullet (like bullet storm) or still get away with a net loss of moving parts compared to other weapons reducing “complexity” all around.
      If the projectiles are the chipped smart micro guided missiles DARPA is working on then the need for gun materials and moving parts is basicaly non existent since the projectile does all the work. A bullet storm of micro missiles like smart bullet would need no barrel, firing physical mechanism, heck even the trigger is optional. If you want a standard magazine and don’t mind adding a few moving parts yet still a net loss of complexity you can use a magazine/e-slide and discharge system. That would make it remarkably compact with minimal recoil. Remember it’s basicaly a magazine, handle with no barrel and cams/target sensors on it. Not much longer then the handle needs to be.

      @@wastelesslearning1245 the correction on the gun itself which the video mentioned is far more viable than smart rounds. Those are gonna be harder to find. Not to forget extra investment to protect the rounds from moisture which anyways is likely gonna have a lower shelf life.Also, I think the rounds would be more toxic due to silicon oxide which may form during the firing of a shot which might violate Geneva Convention (not 100% sure about it in this case).
      I'm just saying smart rounds is a bad idea. But that is not the only approach. Still, the guidance system can be faulty either way with jammers, emps, even in places with magnetic fields.

    • @wastelesslearning1245
      @wastelesslearning1245 Год назад

      @@vegitoblue2187 if it’s wired in a Faraday casing it will be immune to jams and emps. You could also stream info to the smart round with laser inscription though that’s unnecessary assuming the smart rocker bullet doesn’t have a ai on bored. We also know how to harden devices inner circuitry to EMPs too. Considering DARPA is re-searching and made it, I don’t think the shallow Geneva conventions are a problem. Silicon is also not that toxic in the first place compared to some of the Stuff we fire like lead and depleted uranium not to mention the decades of leaving it in your body to start poisoning you won’t kill you before the bleed out will. If it makes people feel bedder they’re can always surround the chip in materials the body does not reject or not leak to contain the ingredients. We also figured out water proofing decades ago. Encasing water susceptible gunpowder in tight Cartridges was the major advantage over paper wads. Guidance system can be updated by pre approved USB getting only better with time and could probably have different modes for different gun trajectory’s. Also the guidance systems is already better by way of more reliable then any marksman faulty caveman eye aim. US literally prints money for military spending. Other countries pockets will hardly notice especially when the tech is already developed by the company in this video and DIYers on RUclips.
