I like Grapple for weird micromovements and big slingshots with double jump. Best peice of advice is just don't let yourself go in a straight line when being pulled. For that reason, I don't grapple without my double jump super often. I can understand why some people don't like it, as it takes a lot to learn and is a lot slower to start up than stim.
Couldn’t have said it better myself. The speed you can get from double jumping during grappling is one of the main reasons I use it, plus it’s good for getting into cheeky spots for flanks or ambushes. One little tip for other grapple pilots, shoot your grapple where your titan lands just as it’s about to land. Makes embarking so much quicker if you need to get into a fight fast.
Yea I love using it for weird micro movements, the uptime is really good when you only use short grapples. The best part about using grapple though, is snagging a pilot ejecting from their titan
For me grapple is my favourite ability to use when in a 1v1 situation because when used for short grapples, the grapple essentially becomes a dash ability so you can Neo circles around the enemy team. Also slingshotting is just superior sorry not sorry
I'm a Pulse Blade main who isn't good enough to consistently get kills with the blade itself, and I use it simply for the awareness it provides. Being able to see how many pilots are in the area and where they are allows you to get an advantageous position with ease. Whether it be just waiting around the corner and firing at them the instant they appear, or sneaking your way to an angle they're not expecting and gun them down while they're looking elsewhere. Also, I'm blind as a bat. Even with Titanfall generously highlighting enemy pilots, I still struggle to see and track them. Being able to just throw down the pulse blade and look at the radar makes things easier for me.
I just love grapple, makes the game into a military shooter version of attack on titan and its just the most fun ability imo. Dunno about its effectiveness but in titanfall im all about what feels the most fun to use
I feel like A-Wall can be amazing if you just use it for hit and run or keepimg yourself safe whne turning a corner, or just quickly blitzing enemies. You just got jumped by one or multiple enemy pilots and NEED to kill them quick? Slap down A-Wall and turn them into a red paste, then hit the dash to wherever you gotta be so badly. Don't feel confident approaching a certain sightline? Slap down A-Wall and slide behind it to see if its safe, then proceed as needed. Need to deal big damage to an enemy titan fast? Slap A-Wall in a doorway and laser down the titan with a charge rifle. Its so much more than a camping tool and I wish more people understood that.
actually a wall is a B since it's a misunderstood class, u should play it as ppl doesn't expect u will be using it, as example: u could use it when there's sweaty players with cars or smgs or shotguns that are just being annoying, grab a wall and once u engage them just deploy ur shield in their face and they will not be able to kill u, just run or outmanuver you. other situation is that if u r being engage deploy ur shield and u will win the fight. a a wall is great in those situations when the enemy forces are just too sweaty and u need a tactical advantage. at least i use it like that and works a bunch so :p. besides i use to counter tryhards and kraber nerds so yea, good gadget.
Yeah I use to main the a wall pilot and use him like a gigachad without camping at the top of the map with a spitfire. I would pop it for 1v1s and if the enemy did a lot of damage to me I would drop it and kill them. It’s a pocket uno reverse card if used right.
I’d prbly say C more than a B, while all those points I do agree the shield cool-down is so long, the throwing animation is a little bit too slow, and some floors just deny it from being used
If you want to, you can place an a wall about Titan height and shoot ronins shots through it (I’m pretty sure it’s one of the only Titan weapons that can be amped and by the largest amount)
A-wall is so funny to watch make people mad, I just run around with a g2 and a wall, place it down, and watch these dudes run straight at me, before they get melee'd and scream in chat about how "broken" A-wall is. sure, it's annoying if your camping, but if you're just going to run straight at the person it's kinda your fault for dying.
You take grenades with Cloak, it lets you get maximum of 3 kills before your cloak goes out and it's bloody amazing. It's a combo made in heaven. It's definitely not JUST a titan-terror. Of course you need to be wall-running and position yourself properly cuz the cloak's still visible for the most parts but when you're above enemies cooking up a grenade while cloaked, it's usually not an issue.
As a Cloak Pilot main, I use that one skill that hides your jump kit’s boost fire from titans. (Please forgive me for forgetting the specifics of it) It makes you pretty much unseeable, and therefore leaves you feeling some nice accomplishment due to now having hundreds of titan kills. I think the Cloak gives up it’s potential to join in on the pilot tactical cat fight in order to take on titans, it’s definitely got pros and cons cause of that. BUT, for sure a great pilot class to use in Frontier Defense, especially when doing nuke rodeos.
For me grapple is high A - low S. You can reach speeds like with stim or grav star but more often plus you can access many more places (to spitfire camp on high ground for example)
I unironically use phase to give titans ptsd. it’s funny to see a titan, shoot em with an mgl while up close, phase right before they melee or shoot, and then reposition and use holo pilot nova boost until they rethink every phase pilot is a holo nova boost
It baffles me when I get engaged, go around a corner and pop one and they fall for it. I’ll peek out and do it again, and when the holo goes out I pop out as well. Something so simple yet ive never had a failure with it some how. I also use the three decoys and sometimes when I’m running up on a titan i’ll just pop all 5 and absolutely fuck around with the titan lol.
Im a grapple main… its hard to use if you dont play smart… using your grapple to get tactical advantage in shootouts and unexpected movement (ei. Using a friendly titan to swing around behind a enemy titan) Is a good way to play. Camera manipulation is a factor to determine how far you swing, where you land, how fast to go.
Personally I like to use a-wall with the smr. The speed and ease with which it melts titans is disgusting and it activates my neurones. Then again, I just like the smr in general.
I used pulse dagger in the beginning but switched to the holo pilot. The piolet has a greater functionality if used properly. That and it's great when an enemy pilot kills a hologram only to be killed by the real deal
I find your placemet of phase quite interesting. While yes, it is a pretty good panic button and can cause surprises similar to a unseen cloak pilot, dealing with your average pub phase pilot has been rather simple in my experience. Just check where their particles point when phasing, and ready your grenade or weapon on their expected exit point. Since phase always has the same time duration and unless they do a fancy nade-boost, they will almost always exit out of it at the same distance. Also, this was a very fun video to watch :D
I know this is a fairly old video by now, but as a cloak main I can definitely agree with the placement you gave it, it just lacks heavily for pilot vs. pilot combat, so it’s best used if you have the skill to balance out that lack of power

Full honesty I started out never using holo pilot only using him to get his execution but then I stuck with him and I actually pulled a few high speed bamboozles and now he’s my main pilot💀
low b tier is a bit criminal for grapple, kinda making your point of how you'll get executed for the grapple ranking lmao but going at actually 100 kph while tapstrafing w/ wallkicks literally makes you unkillable with the speed. Nice video tho was entertaining to see a perspective of another player
To be fair to a-wall rooftop control is crucial and setting up in a building to sneak an anti-titan barrage on a wounded titan and killing them before they can eject, is difficult but satisfying
Phase is my main and I always use it to counter an ambush, being able to SHIFT the odds into your favor is really powerfull, this includes when your about to be hit by a granade, titan explosion, etc...
I used to use grapple but now i use stim and phase more because they are better for getting away and with stim you can use it in conjunction with gravity star to get some insane speed which is good for bounty hunt on homestead etc etc.
Me personally grapple is S tier although ive had a bunch of practice cause pathfinder is one of my favourite characters so take as you will but i think its versatility makes it s tier. Instant height, repositioning or even running away
Holo main here, yeah I kinda don't ever use abilities like Grapple, Stim, or Phase-- They're good and I respect a good pilot with them but like there's just something so fun about misdirecting a titan while whittling away at their health around cover and coming up with a new strategy to confuse them every turn. Stacking Novas and having a total of 12 pilots all fall to the ground after a titan eject is extremely fun.
Quote of the day " I mean who dosen't love hard scoping with the spitfire at the highest point of the map, beaming down enemies when they can't shoot you back." "Oh GeE yOuR cOcK iS sO mAsSiVe, I cAn SeE iT fRoM hErE!"
I feel like pulse blade gets more hate than its deserved. Sure, you can have wall hack, but when you can pull off a clip on someone from using a simple ability AND marking enemies near? It’s about as useful as the radar ping on the ballistic shield from COD ghosts. It’s really good and I don’t see many people other than yours truly playing it anymore
I just like having the "get out of death free card." But you would be suprised it takes an eternity to activate. And yes frags are my primary weapon. 😂
Phase and stim most used are usually use fees after seeing this tells me a lot I get his papa steam and get out of there off of the same thing with phase
ngl pulse blade makes the game more fast paces than grapple or stim for me around halfway through a game it feels like theres only a few pilits left without titans, so throwing a pulse blade into areas they might/should be saves way more time than even using a stim or grapple to check the areas
man- how do i play like this?? i got the game recently, absolutely loved it, got most of the campaign achievments already, and played the defense multiplayer mode a lot with friends, but after seeing this, i really wanna go into pvp- i just gotta know where can i learn all the ''techs'' to do it

@@EmmetTheSeal yea it’s funny af to pull it off but if you miss time or miss place where they are the grav can launch you in a bad direction giving them a chance to kill you, so use it at your own risk
Grapple is better than stim, you can reach the same speed but you also can have vertical mobility with grapple, grappling a titan automatically embarks/climbs to it you can also grapple to other pilots. It is a must have in the map Rise since you need to go up to touch the corridors The only downside is the long cooldown but that could be negated with gun mods.
I use phase for several reasons. Phase is My combat reload My reposition tool My free movement cover My confusion tool My op as fuck avoid all damage. Tatics: in small corridors I throw down smoke, run back through it and appear behind the pilot chasing me. With the satchels being allowed to place them down, phase and then blow them makes would be suicide kills mostly free, my personal main use is nuke titan under an overhang, "oh shit, I'm gonna nuke myself" just phase just before it goes off and suddenly you've taken everyone with you and now you have a clear area to reposition.
4:00 O-O duuuuuuuuuuude 😋😎 6:00 yes, I always use the Grapple, it's broken in my opinion, great for fast movement, especially upwards, for making U-turns if you need to turn quickly, you can harpoon enemies to pull them towards you, and for attacking by riding enemy titans in a flash

low b tier is a bit criminal for grapple, kinda making your point of how you'll get executed for the grapple ranking lmao but going at actually 100 kph while tapstrafing w/ wallkicks literally makes you unkillable with the speed. Nice video tho was entertaining to see a perspective of another player

To be fair to a-wall rooftop control is crucial and setting up in a building to sneak an anti-titan barrage on a wounded titan and killing them before they can eject, is difficult but satisfying
'Oh? You have a Spitfire? "Wanna see mine? :)"' Every A-Wall main probably
as some one who uses a wall I've never thought of using it that way I've always used it for anti titan
3:09 that mid air execution was clean 😂
Ok pulse may be bad but trolling with gravity star+sonar kill is so fun
The Survey the IDB has conducted reveals that Grapple is by far the most played Pilot class
Who on earth is IDB
2:00 We Krabber mains barely hit anything, and whenever we hit something, it's exactly a hollow pilot
Thanks for the laugh, a laugh with tears
+ good video
- weird and confusing closed captions (Hollow, Faze, ...)
Stim gives me a goddamn power trip (or speed trip) and I love it so much for how quick I can go
Phase is my main and I always use it to counter an ambush, being able to SHIFT the odds into your favor is really powerfull, this includes when your about to be hit by a granade, titan explosion, etc...
I used to use grapple but now i use stim and phase more because they are better for getting away and with stim you can use it in conjunction with gravity star to get some insane speed which is good for bounty hunt on homestead etc etc.
Dont have to get away if you kill the enemy.
3:08 can we talk about how good that air hit was ?
8:05 this is the coolest f’ing finisher I’ve ever seen like the way bro had the ark star there to just… just 🤌🏽
Love the EPG
To be fair to cloaking, it does still give 100% camo to pilots. Its very strong in heated battlefields and long distances.
8:05 nobody is talking about how fucking hard this execution goes
I know right, I was looking for someone like you who Recognised that shit, absolutely beautiful
bro do you like any of the tacticals the game has? gd you only spoke well of holopilot and slightly phase
Okay I have changed my mind slightly it’s just that I think they don’t tickle my brain that makes me feel like I truly deserved a kill
Quote of the day " I mean who dosen't love hard scoping with the spitfire at the highest point of the map, beaming down enemies when they can't shoot you back."
"Oh GeE yOuR cOcK iS sO mAsSiVe, I cAn SeE iT fRoM hErE!"
like the amount of times u executed midair is like more than 3
NICE JOB!!!
:3
I feel like pulse blade gets more hate than its deserved. Sure, you can have wall hack, but when you can pull off a clip on someone from using a simple ability AND marking enemies near? It’s about as useful as the radar ping on the ballistic shield from COD ghosts. It’s really good and I don’t see many people other than yours truly playing it anymore
Once you use stim for a long time, you can’t use any other pilot because you’re so used to the GAS GAS GAS
I just like having the "get out of death free card." But you would be suprised it takes an eternity to activate. And yes frags are my primary weapon. 😂
As a phase main I can say with %100 certainty it does not deserve s tier.
Welp. I think we just might be back.
Phase and stim most used are usually use fees after seeing this tells me a lot I get his papa steam and get out of there off of the same thing with phase
3:09 Holy SHIT that was sick
ngl pulse blade makes the game more fast paces than grapple or stim for me
around halfway through a game it feels like theres only a few pilits left without titans, so throwing a pulse blade into areas they might/should be saves way more time than even using a stim or grapple to check the areas
Yaaaaaah, phase!
Yea they get it ^^^
8:07 is absolute perfection
man- how do i play like this?? i got the game recently, absolutely loved it, got most of the campaign achievments already, and played the defense multiplayer mode a lot with friends, but after seeing this, i really wanna go into pvp- i just gotta know where can i learn all the ''techs'' to do it
As a holo main, I picked him as a beginner because he looked cool, stayed with him because he's awesome to play even though he is not all that useful.
Okay them on Northstar it gives you a power trip
I feel crippled without grapple
A-Wall isn't entirely useless, it's good for titan work in frontier defense if you SOMEHOW don't have your titan nearby
i use grapple only to get into windows on some maps, or go around walls and smack pilots unexpectadly
I forgot why i play holopilot until now
i like to mess with people of course, who wouldn't wanna mess with people.
I hear about grapple and it is acceptable. Now turn around and face the wall.
i know this is a good game, and I've seen gameplay, but i am both lucky and unlucky for being born in 2009.
i have no clue what the story is about, and i can easily go blind and enjoy it, but with it in its state, it makes me sad that i won't get to experience it in its prime
Holo Pilot is hands down the best pilot😎
a legendary opinion
You dropped this 👑
@@RowanMakesMemes nice username 👑
You can use a wall as portable cover to use like a phase escape
you are a fool and a conman
@@EmmetTheSeal true that amazing vid though:)
Well, when you encounter me, and I GRAPPLE away without dieing by you, then you'll wish you'd haven't gone against me, haha!!! 😂
Phase is great with grav star cus you can grav an enemy and get a phase kill if you do it correctly
I legit never thought about that
@@EmmetTheSeal yea it’s funny af to pull it off but if you miss time or miss place where they are the grav can launch you in a bad direction giving them a chance to kill you, so use it at your own risk
@@gamerboi9561 well im going to do this now THIS IS YOUR DOING
Grapple is better than stim, you can reach the same speed but you also can have vertical mobility with grapple, grappling a titan automatically embarks/climbs to it you can also grapple to other pilots. It is a must have in the map Rise since you need to go up to touch the corridors
The only downside is the long cooldown but that could be negated with gun mods.
OMG VAFFLEBOLE APPEARED IN A VID, my fav dude on titanfall
Was it a player in game?
@@EmmetTheSeal Yes, you killed him lmfao
Never forget vafflebole, may they rest in peace
as a stim pilot, i am not ranked so that means im either the best or the worst
I use phase for several reasons. Phase is
My combat reload
My reposition tool
My free movement cover
My confusion tool
My op as fuck avoid all damage.
Tatics: in small corridors I throw down smoke, run back through it and appear behind the pilot chasing me. With the satchels being allowed to place them down, phase and then blow them makes would be suicide kills mostly free, my personal main use is nuke titan under an overhang, "oh shit, I'm gonna nuke myself" just phase just before it goes off and suddenly you've taken everyone with you and now you have a clear area to reposition.
phase is good fore ejecting too so u dont die in the air
Stim is better
@@EmmetTheSeal em im used to phase now lol but ya stim is good
untill u get crushed between a scorch legs @@EmmetTheSeal
@@horizonkanyon but we are talking about ejecting, you can just sit strafe half way across the map with stim
u got a point ima instal this game on pc too @@EmmetTheSeal
4:00 O-O duuuuuuuuuuude 😋😎
6:00 yes, I always use the Grapple, it's broken in my opinion, great for fast movement, especially upwards, for making U-turns if you need to turn quickly, you can harpoon enemies to pull them towards you, and for attacking by riding enemy titans in a flash
I’m a holo main but enjoy a good (close quarters) A-wall. Much like the hole in wall execution… but with 5 people on the other side all turning around in horror as my flatline lives up to its name😂
3:10 I never knew mid-air finishers existed
