I made wings with this recipe a couple of weeks ago... they were so "mind-blowing", incredibly good. The flavor carried away to a new place and I will never be the same again. I am in love with this recipe!!!!

The restaurant I worked at most recently did fried chicken in a buttermilk/ Frank's Red Hot marinade, then a seasoned dredge. It is insane, so I can tell this will be amazing too. I just bought that same gochujan yesterday for the first time, after buying the same brand of bean paste forever. Is the universe telling me something? use sugar alternatives for the sauce. The carb count on the breading isn't too bad for a weekly treat. Sugary sauces are the issue, but there's so many alternatives now!

Made the sauce and put it on some wings dredged with cornstarch mixed with salt and pepper. Whole family loved em and my wife and boys only ever want honey bbq wings so this was a big win.

I knew what you meant obviously, it is a pain in the ass to do all that prep with all the flour and the oil and then finding something to do with that oil after it cools down. It's more work than most meals requires, you really have to have a hankering for fried chicken. Lol

was rasied by my mom to not use buttermilk. It's simply chicken into seasoned flour (Tony Chachere's usually) then an egg wash then back into the flour then into the oil for frying. There's no marinating period, simply thaw, cut into strips if making tenders, then do the flour, egg, flour, fry.

The frying isn't the problem, it's the cleanup isn't it? It does make a huge mess but it's worth it sometimes.
