    Had a catastrophic failure flying over a lake with the green ones! One of the props flew completely apart while I was flying in normal mode at about 30mph. My friend told me it looked like my drone exploded instantly in mid air. Luckily, it landed within about 50’ of the bank, but it took four of us over an hour to find it. All Master Airscrew did was deny any fault. They look really cool, but unless you’re just wanting to sit your drone on a shelf and look at it, I would stay as far away from these props as possible! (There’s also a video on youtube of another pilot who experienced the exact same thing.) It shows the drone bust apart and fall to the ground. Same props!

    If I ever happen to get the DJI FPV, I’ll have to get the MAS props for sure.

    I've been using these master props for a couple of weeks now and can say they are definitely an upgrade 👍. faster and smoother and seem to be getting a little more flight time... I got the blue and orange and yeah they look way cooler than standard... I would definitely recommend them although a little pricey

    Howdy Kelly. Thank you for this excellent review of the Master Airscrew Props for the DJI FPV. Yes, I have been a big fan of Master Airscrew Pops, too, ever since purchasing them for my Mavic Pro. I've gotten longer flight time and quieter flight noise levels. I have an order in for their DJI Air2 Props now that they have solved the vibration problem. Thank you for this video review and your interview with Master Airscrew CEO Boris Iskrev; both were well produced and informative.

      Thanks Steve. The MA props definitely give some small upgrades and make whichever drone you put them on look much cooler. Also - thank you for the stickers! I put one on my laptop - front and center! Take care!

    I love the way they sound. They scream. One major con is voided warranty. In flight, mine made a gear stripping sound right before falling out of the air. DJI told me the 3rd party props caused my fpv to over perform and break. So I had to bust out $250 to refresh and ever since I’ve been back to stock props

    • @readysetdrone
      @readysetdrone  Год назад

      Yeah, that's a shame. I actually emailed DJI support and got a reply back clearly stating that 3rd party props have no impact on the eligibly of DJI Care refresh. Then, being pleasantly surprised, I tweeted about it, with screen shots from the email from DJI. Then the DJI Twitter account replied, basically saying that employee who responded to me was wrong. 😕
      Kind of makes sense, but at the same time, if I do something foolish like just drop it as I'm getting out of my car, why isn't putting 3rd party props also considered "accidentally damage"?
      If you're under that warranty still, it does make sense to use stock props, as you mentioned. 👍

    Given the dimensions of the new props...They will be grippier and faster however that will cause less efficiency along with the increased weight. It will be preference in the end.

  • @LetsGoBrandon_

    Got mine and tested them out. Definitely more aggressive pitch and louder noise factor but I don't really see any power advantages or punch-out increase. I thought the bright red would be easier to spot but they aren't. With increased structural rigidity over DJI OEM props I do expect these to be more durable hitting leaves and branches but only time will tell. I can tell you that when I launch from my back porch the new blades clear every spec of dirt and leaves from concrete and send ants flying. This beats sweeping. 😄

    Have you tried the prop adapters yet? I know it's more weight centralized on the motor but if you're running a 5'1 pitch 3 that only weighs like 3.5 g it should in theory spin up a little quicker maybe? And it be nice if someone with a good RUclips channel like yourself did a 2022 review because I can see now you can get parts readily available and there's repair channels dedicated to disassembling this drone and repairing it.

    I would stay away from them. I got a red set (if it matters or not) when I start the motor 3/5 times it would think there is a prop guard and it would lower the performance of the drone. There are quite of people also saying the same on the Amazon reviews.

      @@readysetdrone I'm getting the same warning, "Prop Guards Detected". I had even sent back the first two sets (red &orange) at the request of Master Airscreww, and they sent me two more sets to test. I got the same result. I did not find it was lowering performance that I could see, but this is a very curious phenomenon. I don't quite know what to think about it... How would the drone think there were prop guards on?... I'm still flying with the new props anyway without problems, and they do look very cool.

    I installed master air screws on my drone & got screwed one of the three holding clips that hold the propeller to the motor cracked. I felt a shutter 200 feet up so I slowly flew back to my takeoff point knowing something was wrong & hovered at about one and a half feet off the ground the drone started throwing off propeller blades due to the imbalance one of the blades must have hit the other side and broke off two blades on the other rear propeller with two rear propellers disabled the front of the drone came up and I flew backwards and hit the ground and popped my battery out. When I took the rear blades off I found a little piece of plastic in the motor so I picked it out it was one of the three clip that holds the propeller to the motor. If. I didn't install the strengthening rods from the front arms too the rear. The rear two arms would've been broken off it did break one rod & scuffed the other so I took them off and ordered two more for $15 it was well worth it 😉👍🏻 I must admit the Chinese did a great job with the DJI FPV 👍🏻✨drone it held up under the crash💥

    • @readysetdrone
      @readysetdrone  2 года назад

      Once in manual mode, you have to tap the right/front button to arm it (not down and in with the sticks) and then it takes off like any other FPV quad. Take off in manual is easy, landing can be bouncy!

    The amount of pitch is not the same as the distance travelled in one rotation. That's not exactly how that works

    • @SunriseWaterMedia
      @SunriseWaterMedia 2 года назад

      I'm sure it's complex, but that's how I've seen it explained by multiple sources online. How would you have said it?

    • @readysetdrone
      @readysetdrone  2 года назад

      Agreed that is may be a simplified explanation, but it is how props for aircraft and boats are marked - 4 numbers - first 2 are the diameter and second 2 represent movement per rotation. But I agree that there is more to it than what I said.

    • @woltervandenberg
      @woltervandenberg 2 года назад

      @@readysetdrone It's not easy to explain that's for sure.
      If your propellor were to be a nut on a bolt for example, the pitchnumber would indeed relate to the up- or downward movement per rotation.
      In air (or water for that matter) it's a completely different situation. The amount of lift per rotation depends both on the density of the material the propellor is cutting through and the speed of the prop.
      And then there's also this thing called gravity that plays a big part.

      most people install them wrong not realizing the red colored motors should match with the props labeled with a white circle.. if you install wrong they can not just "explode" but you will most certainly crash.. this is the same for the original props too the only difference is the white circle is red, just like the corresponding motors, to help the newbies figure it out.. yet people still mess up.
