The Corsair in star citizen is named after and designed very reminiscently of the brigantine Corsair sailing ship as we know it now. The infamous Corsair was a version of the British designed brigantine modified by French privateers, The Corsaire’s.
btw u gain 2 more size 4 guns and missiles when you unfold the wings lol (in addition to the 4 size 5 guns on the front) But overall IMO, great video and I cannot recommend the Corsair enough to anyone looking for one of the most functional and capable daily driver ships for solo use or with a co-pilot or two! The cargo bay/ramp combo can hold URSA's and Snub fighters as well which makes it even more fantastic for living off grid.
I loved the little tour of the ship during warp, but the "You know what.." *Weapon systems boot up* at 9:58 went unnecessarily hard, and then immediately followed by a not worth moment lmao
Very much an enjoyable experience! The vlog-like videos are kind of refreshing and feels a whole lot better than many of the other ultra-scripted videos I come across about SC.
Really happy to hear you enjoy it, thanks! Yeah I don’t script anything, it can make space vlogging a little unpredictable at times, but that’s what makes it so fun for me to do
Garcia‘s Green's mixed fruit shakes and multi vegetable shakes are higher end food items in game (currently there are very little food item choice in game, so fresh fruit and Garcia's shakes are probably the best thing you can get, well, definitely better than energy drink that is. ) and Garcia's Green only set shops in new Babbage, so it is your local flavor, unique to your home base. Corsair is a 5-6 men ship, more like a PVE space combat based play style ship, Drake's understanding of how a Connie should be. Connie is more like a 1-3 men 'can do all' ship (especially Taurus, that's basically a one men ship), while Corsair is straight combat ship. I like how CIG designed Connie more fit 'multi role ship' but Corsair is totally a combat ship, while those two are basiclly the same class. Shows a lot of character of different manufacturer. (like connie has its 24 size 2 missile, Corsair has three BIG manned turrets). you can't go wrong with a Corsair or a Connie, they are just perfect, can fulfill all sci-fi spaceship life simulation dream.
There are two drug labs with public QT markers right there on Microtech: The Necropolis and Outpost 54. No SLAM, but they do both sell WiDoW. Making runs from there to Devlin Scrap & Salvage on Euterpe is pretty chill. Raven's Roost is also on Microtech, but has no public QT marker.
Always put your shields back up after you come out of quantum and absolutely before you land! You are a sitting duck with shields down and leaving your ship. If they have a tractor beam they can just take your whole ship.
That suicyco reclaimer though xD Your videos are a nice mix of soothing and high tension. Love that! Corsair might be the overall most versatile ship in the verse atm. Own her, love her :)
amazing vid as always, although may need to read the manual for the corsair ... as i think you missed subsection on weapon deployments... 35-1 sub.a : Must transform wings for full combat and flight maneuvers.
Sadly the rental didn’t come with a flight manual, classic Drake lol I don’t know how I missed that though, I watched this video back twice and spent quite a while editing, and I never even spotted it. Oops
It's cool to see people into playing the role of a star citizen while they play Whenever I see a character walking around space stations instead of sprinting and running into walls everywhere I assume it's someone recording video
the back of the drake reminds me of a first order troop carrier

Man ur flying, 1K, I flinch and see 2.5K, good on you mate. If you know Wiljum, you have a very similar vibe! I like how you you can take a chill and setback approach as well organizing the community stuff
Thanks man, I’m really glad you enjoy the videos! Yeah it’s kinda nuts seeing the growth, it should flatten out eventually because SC content doesn’t have a very high ceiling lol

@@CaptainFlynn117 Keep at it man, this is some relaxing content for the dissertation period.
I actually haven’t, but yeah I really like old sailing ships. I actually took a history of seapower class in college and it was the best class that I’ve ever done. I also read a lot of older books/diaries from sailors of the time period, and movies like Master and Commander are among my favorite
@@CaptainFlynn117 I'm not trying to sound like a salesman here but you seriously might like Sailwind. It's a small indie game that's still under development. It's complicated and easy in all of the right departments for me. I never had a big fascination with sail power until I started playing it, now I'm hooked. The biggest challenge is navigation, I couldn't tell you how many times I've gotten lost on the open sea. You use a variety of navigation tools to aid you to find your longitude and latitude. Really struck a chord with me to see how ancient civilization could basically GPS their exact location with such instruments.
Yeah I use tobi eye tracker, they actually tried to sponsor me but I said no. I don’t know if I’m actually allowed to say that lol but I do enjoy using it, especially with flight sticks
@@CaptainFlynn117 Honestly I blame the new sticks they sent you--there was probably a loose wire when you were trying to install them on the Corsair ^_^ Next time with the wings down you'll have access to two more guns as well for even more shock and awe Cheers!
@@CaptainFlynn117 The wings fold up automatically when you deploy your gear, so you have to get into the habit of unfolding your wings every time you take off. Makes it easy to remember to have the functions at the flick of a finger within reach.
Honestly mostly though brute force of hardware lol but using Vulkan and dlss helps a ton. Landing zones always run the worst at the moment, I think because of all the ships people leave around
Constellation is a better ship. The Darks love to loose wings. When vsing a Connie with Ballistic it's all down to pilot skills but it's 50/50 who wins. It's all about who got the first shot off😅
“oh, hey there-!” is iconic
I’m really getting addicted to this kind of content!
Really glad you enjoy it!
i find myelf ranting " open the wings!" you lost half your guns and missiles flying in landing mode
Unfold dem wingz in combat, some weapons wont fire if you don't.
4.8k subs is criminal... YOU NEED MORE FOR THIS QUALITY OF CONTENT
Thanks man, really glad you enjoy it! Personally, I think it's about 4.8k more than I deserve lol but I appreciate everyone nonetheless

As soon as those wings folded out and how they were different lengths, it looked a bit like the Mantis from Jedi Fallen Order and Survivor.
radar lock is just the on foot npc "noticing" you XD

Yeah missiles won’t work unless big wing has folded down. Others have already noted the 2 size 4 guns also not firing unless the wings have opened.

Excellent SC channel...but unfold the wings :)
Thank you, yeah I can’t believe I didn’t notice it, I feel kinda dumb now but that’s how we learn lol I certainly won’t forget next time
If only my computer could handle this game, I would definitely help you out
Yo man! Vids are great, just for reference, if you dont mind me asking, what are your specs?
Thanks, glad you enjoy them! I just built this rig, it has a 4090 paired with a 7950x3d, 64 gb of ddr5 ram, and it still runs like ass sometimes lol

Hearing you talking about your interest in ancient ships of sail, I have to ask. Have you ever heard of or planned on playing Sailwind?

1:21 damn thats a lot of missiles
Are you using some sort of head tracking?
He prolly is tbh
Yeah I use tobi eye tracker, they actually tried to sponsor me but I said no. I don’t know if I’m actually allowed to say that lol but I do enjoy using it, especially with flight sticks
The missiles aren't working because you've had the wings folded the entire time :)
Edit: also it's harder to move with the wings folded up
Oh damn I feel like an idiot now lol I never even realized that, oops. At least now I know for next time

Hey, how do you get such smooth frames in New Babbage? I always get low frame rates but it's butter smooth once I leave
Honestly mostly though brute force of hardware lol but using Vulkan and dlss helps a ton. Landing zones always run the worst at the moment, I think because of all the ships people leave around
what flight sticks did you get?
I got the virpil constellation alpha prime hosas set, it was on sale not too long ago
The corsair is based of the corsair(real ship).....
The cutter is the cutter
The cutlass is the cutlass
The ironclad is the ironclad warship
Gotta find those Orbital Marker markers. 😅
