Consolidated Outland, this brand LOVES its 'total clearance' cockpit design, not just the Mustang, Nomad's cockpit chair in fact lead you in a cockpit that intentionally 'stick out' of the ship's main body, so that you can see everywhere, include down your feet. 'You know what you're facing' is this brand's design language, very unique, very cool, totally different with some brand like the MISC and Crusader.
The Mustang was my Starter back in the days before it had cargo.. boxes mission were possible 😅. Just walk up open cockpit and jump in and throw box use to come with u inside the ship. And sometimes it would block ur view... Loved it. Weird but fun
The default loadout on the Mustang is pretty bad but it's cheap to upgrade it to a decent state. Firstly, you're only running 2 size 2 badgers on the nose turret. You can replace these with a pair of Dominance-2s or Attrition-2s to quadruple the DPS. You also have the capacity for a size one weapon on each wing, which if outfitted correctly can bring the DPS up to almost 6x DPS over the original loadout. Don't forget to look at upgrading the powerplant and coolers to support extra weapons, but this just shows there is a lot of headroom for new players to upgrade their starter ships.
Bro wait until you take an A2 into a fight, it was almost 500k to restock the nukes and fix the ship. I didn't pay it of course. It is probably still floating around Crusader somewhere, I will wait for the 20 minutes for a new one for free.
Yeah, I figured that out the hard way and now I have a Drake cutter which is great for everything else but if I come in contact with an AI stronger than a Pisces I’m screwed
You will find that the very best starter ship is the Titan if you are objectively using the ship. Aesthetics your Focus then go for what ever you like.
Was already getting ready to type a comment to enter the giveaway like with the other channels in the verse. But tbh, giving a starter ship to the people who can get the most use out of it is honestly a much better idea.
Thanks man, yeah there’s a lot of people out there who wish they could enter the ‘verse but can’t, I used to be one of them. I’m glad you agree with how I chose to run the giveaway, I wasn’t interested in doing the artificial engagement thing which is why I didn’t even mention it anywhere until the end.
Hey dude! Thanks for showing some early game content! Just recently stumbled across your videos and have been enjoying them so far. Been thinking about getting into SC for a while now but the freefly events were always just too janky/buggy to the point where completing a simple delivery mission just wasn't possible. I think I may try again with the next freefly and see how it goes. Also good on you for figuring out how to do a genuine giveaway that doesn't necessarily farm engagement. I'd really quite like to see sort of a progression series. Kinda like from rags to riches, starting with a starter ship and moving up bit by bit (doesn't have to end with the biggest or most expensive ship obvs). Keep it up!
Thank you very much, glad you enjoyed it! I’m happy with how the giveaway went also. Thats a good idea, I may have to try that sometime once the servers finally work for me again lol
Back when I was looking to join the stars I couldn't decide what ship I wanted. I was leaning towards an Aurora LN, but I decided to save up more and get a Freelancer. The old models had a stairway in the front landing gear I loved and I liked all it could do. But by the time I got cleared to fly they had a recall on the old ones and mine got hauled back, I guess too many people got caught in the door/floor. I still love flying it now, but sometimes I consider getting a starter ship just to feel what it's like. Thanks for the video!
15:52 flynn, I'm preparing to buy the game in a few days (november 22nd because of discounts apparently) and your video's have been a huge help for deciding what path I want to choose and what starter ship I want!
Thats awesome man! Welcome to the 'verse! It doesn't always work properly, but when it does its pretty awesome. If you ever need anybody to play with or need help, feel free to join our community discord and we'll help you out
Great job with that MRT. With 2x size 2 Omnisky's and 2x size 1 guns this ship is not bad for a starter shi, but obviously stock loadout is not so good.
Mustang is my starter as well. Only thing I plan on upgrading to is a CNOU multicrew ship. I just hope they can get the aesthetics more defined for the CNOU lineup. Not a fan of how the nomad looks...
You haven't heard of Star Citizen yet? It's a great "game" still in alpha. It's been in development for about 15 years. It's the second most funded game in history (behind gta 5) all publicly funded. It's constantly changing and evolving into a bigger, better game, with a lot of speed bumps along the way. It's $40ish dollars to get started, but they have "freefly events" all the time to jump in and play for free. The whole point of the game is to do stuff to make money to buy more stuff. That's it. They have an offline store to buy an ingame items, but that just helps fund the game and takes gameplay away from you. So just get a starter ship and enjoy the beautiful grind. Don't skip the tutorial. It helps a lot.
I absolutely love my mustang (I just bought the delta which has more guns). The Beta has a living space behind the pilot seat (bedlogging possible!) to the right (dont make my mistake and turn left otherwise you might find yourself in EVA with the ship flying away from you at mach whatthehell!)
Oh cool, I didn’t know that about the Beta. Yeah the mustang is such a fun little ship, I miss it sometimes, upgraded mine to the prospector a while ago
Honestly, i've watched almost all your Videos so far. And you really made me think about joining, since Spacegames have a special Place in my Heart. However, i'm still not sure, since there's also quite some Money involved. And some of the Bugs are pretty severe, i believe. However i will keep on watching and you have a new Subscriber. Keep on working!
Hey thanks, really glad you’re enjoying the videos! Yeah it’s a good time but can certainly be frustrating due to the bugs sometimes. I feel like I got my moneys worth, but here’s my honest opinion: if you don’t already like the game in its current state, then wait for more updates before you buy a starter package. It’s a long road of development still to go
Thanks man, glad you enjoy them! It should be called “toggle lead/lag pip” or something like that, I believe it’s in keybinds under ‘vehicle-targeting’ or ‘vehicle-weapons’, something similar to that. I don’t have access at this exact moment but I hope that helps
could i trade my aurora for a mustang for no extra cost? I always assumed you got a bit less then what you needed given the way companies operate nowadays
Honestly I’m not sure, I think they are the same price and usually you can only ccu if the price is higher. Just click on ship upgrades on the website and see if it gives you the option. Maybe if you melt it and use store credit? I think the aurora is fine for a starter ship though, just a little bit old school
If the aurora is your only game package, I wouldn't recommend melting it down. Your best bet us to just buy a mustang with in-game currency. But if it was me ans i really wanted to upgrade with money, I would spend the 15$ to upgrade to the Avenger titan. A much better ship then the mustang, longer range, bigger guns, more storage space, bed for logging, two doors for when one gets glitched or can't reach the ramp, bigger missiles I think. It's just an all-around, more useful ship.
@CaptainFlynn117 i returned my 7959x3d and I downgraded to the 7800x3d because I couldn't get the 7950x3d to recognize sc as a game in the windows so it ran terribly, like worse then my 5800x3d. How did you get yours to work?
Huh thats odd, mine just worked right away. The only issue I had was having to downclock my ram to 6800 mhz for stability. The 7800x3d is still a fantastic cpu, I just like the 7950 because of video production
