By the colors of the Cutlass Black it's an NPC, but still the Caterpillar is an absolute tank and has decent firepower for the pilot to use. Easily my favorite Cargo Ship currently :P

As a kid I also used to watch my dad playing videogames, in my case Elite Dangerous, just like your Daughter. I loved it so much that I started building all the spaceships from the game out of Legos.

Trucking is awesome and really peaceful for high amounts of money, but the risk is high with Star Citizen in it's current state.
Went from 1 mil to 1.8 mill over the course of 3 days trucking on and off.
Used the 800k profit i had earned thus far to fill my Catty up with Beryl, only to randomly explode when coming out of quantum at Area 18.
Definitely make sure to leave yourself 500k-1m banked in case something like that happens to you
Right now I'm working to earn 3,5 milions to buy Argo Raft. Thanks to you, I now know what I will use this ship for.

It would be awesome, to have your own Dreadnoughts, Aircraft-Carrier's, Crusers, Destroyers, etc, in the Game. And from the orbit, you can send down Orbital Airstrikes on the Planet
also the tractor beams do work in the hangars but sometimes u just gotta drag it into your backpack/inventory and back onto your body if its not working. Atleast that usually works for me lol. Also, would love to join you on future ironclad adventures.

I love salvaging components and weapons and just filling up the cargo bay of my Corsair. All ya gotta do is park somewhere with a Dumpers Depot and sell it. As long as the stuff is in your ship its pretty good extra $$ especially when doing bounties (freelancer/C1 are easiest components to pull out and sell)
caterpillar is a 110 meter ship, to put it in scale, that is a 22 floor building. the Taurus is only a 70 meter ship which already feels big, the shuttles we're using like Aurora and 100i are 20 meter ships. caterpillar is seriously long, but because its cockpit is positioned in is back, it is surprisingly easy to land in first person, easier than the C2 (C2 is very wried, it is a 70 meter long ship, but it is 100 meter wide, so it is still a 100 meter ship, similar caliber as the caterpillar, just in its own weird way)
caterpillar gives the pilot an unique feel of 'I am my own boss, and this ship is my own kindom', like those flathead driver whom actually owns his vehicle.
and caterpillar's 'cockpit', the escape ship is very well designed: with its own shower-toilet combo, a stove, upper sit and bed and lower sits and bed. it is a compact little home with all the functions neatly arranged so player doesn't felt be pushed and squeezed by all those furnitures.
Good one with that pirate, you get a lot of Vodka/whisky from his cutty. distilled spirits are in demand at all of the mining sites, like Shuben Mining XXX post these kind of places, I once sold like 80 scu of liquor to one mining outpost, I was like 'there's literally tens of thousands bottles of liquor here, you guys sure you can, well, finish all of them?!' Miners love their liquor.
The elevator cars dynamically spawn based on need. If there's only one person, there's only one car. When the area starts getting a lot more use, more cars get spawned to handle the traffic.

There are stairs to the cockpit you don’t have to use the ladder and the stuff you got from the pirate sells at grim hex
Just don’t follow any alien distress signals while space trucking. But if you do, don’t look inside any of the alien eggs within the alien derelict.

There's actually an entry ladder on the cockpit/detachable portion of the ship. It's just not implemented yet.
As for which ship carries the vibe of an 18 wheeler, that definitely goes to the Freelancer MAX imho. The whole ship reminds me of a truck through and through. Even the cargo bay is reminiscent of a 53' trailer lol. I absolutely had to have one! That said, the Caterpillar is in between that and the cargo ships like Evergreen and Maersk. The Hull series ships are 100% Evergreen and Maersk.

Just discovered your channel and it makes me really want to get Star Citizen to play it, i looked into it about a year ago but could never do it, I hopefully will be getting the chance to in the near future, trying to aim for a pc soon hopefully. The cat, always wanted one (cause Drake! xD) until I got one and... let me be polite and phrase it this way: I guess I'm lacking the needed patience to fly that brick. Still, one of the most cool looking ships in the verse. I also thought about getting the Ironclad, but put that thought aside cause I am too old and am afraid that I wont live long enough to see that ship be released.
Anyways, imho this is your best video so far. It's got your bit of bad luck (subway train doors closing right in your face), it's got the Cat, it's got suspense with the unexpected interdiction and a bit o' boom when you blew up that pesky cuttie. My respects for fighting back in the Cat as a solo pilot, even if it's just been an npc pirate.

smo-10 beryl to orison. you'll get about 400k per run. Its a bit longer but its nice and chill. Get it while you can before the disaster 3.24 will be.
That's the Beryl run I do with my C2. Having the ship randomly exploding tend to bite into the profit though.
I went with the Fatterpillar instead of the Ironclad, but if the plan is to have a mobile base I think the Ironclad is the better choice with the repair facilities and all.
Edit: I forgot that both are called Ironclad, but the one that trades a bit of cargo for the repair bay is the Ironclad Assault. 😅
This might be the most sketchy beryl run I've ever seen. Running from SM0-22 on Microtech to Orison on Crusader has the highest return for a 15 minute flight with way less Lorville fog. More pirates, but that's the fun part.
I do a run of Hephaestanite in my C2 from Pyro to New Babbage. A full load with cost 1.62 million but will make you 300k. After I sell I buy Scrap for 90k and haul it back to Pyro netting me an additional 30k. Rinse and repeat. Put in a class A military drive and it’s a quick trip. You’ll pretty much make a million in 3 trips.

scan the ship to see what the cargo is, it may not be worth your time
dont turn your ships engines off in space. engines off on planets engines on in space (any bump would send your ship off).
I listen to either Joe Rogan, the expanse audiobooks or audio dramas when I play star citizen. The game is so chill that I need extra stuff going on lol

Everyone always spend only 50% of what you have, but every time i'm running cargo, i buy the most i can afford. So far no bad luck.
You're getting just over 200.000 a run. Might have to try that run in my Herc. To fill my Herc on my Beryl run. Is 1.452 mil to buy, and when I sell I get 1.960 mil
Dang that's over half a mil profit, a few runs of that and the c2 will pay for itself!
I also have a random Pisces. I'm pretty sure I got it as a reward for completing the tutorial.

Oooh Star Citizen looks SOOOO different, I’ve been waiting to play again for a while now. I gave up because one to many times I’d done literal hours of work, about to dock, or complete a contract and the game would crash or the ship would randomly explode, all loot lost, no money for completing contract!… Willing to try again though after seeing this.
Yeah it’s gotten a lot better, especially if you can find an empty server. It can still definitely have its moments though lol

Near the lorevill landing zone ate buildings with landing pads that do the impounding thing if you get to close. So i would fly straight to the spaceport instead of flying close to the city. Lost once 24 or so of RMC you can fit in it what i salvaged to the stupid impound.
12 landing gear with 4 propulsion thrusters... It really is the verses 18 wheeler

Yeah it can be rough sometimes, I almost always play on the lower populated Asian or eu servers and that helps a lot

Pirate here, the interdiction you had was a NPC interdiction. You can just power through that without having to fight. If you are getting interdicted by a player, best thing to do is as soon you drop out which is usually between 12-19km, turn a 180 and haul ass the other way.
Never invest all your money if you are only able to fill it up halfway.

Welcome! Yeah I just record my experiences so this is what the game is like for me. It all depends on what you want to do in the 'verse though, some people might have a completely different experience

bruuhhhh im so jealous of that framerate I can get like 70 for a quick second before dropping back down to 43, how do you get it that smooth or is it just good hardware?
Yeah I just built this pc and it almost feels like a whole new game lol It may be hardware related, but running vulkan and dlss helps a lot. Also downscaling to 1080p helped my old build from 2018 significantly. Believe it or not, running everything besides clouds at max settings also helps it run WAY better, especially on older hardware. It's something to do with the current development build utilizing the cpu more than the gpu at lower settings. Hope that helps :)

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! I currently have 64 GB of ddr5 (microcenter just had a sale going on, almost half off), but I had to downclock to 6000hz because of the instability with am5. I'm also using vulkan with dlss so that probably helps quite a bit also

I've seen alot of videos over the years and watched alot more recently and was wondering how a few people were moving their head and still turning and flying a ship along with those smaller movements that would be hard to realistically replicate with just mouse movement
how useful is an eye tracker and whats it like? do you look at a certain part on the screen and it turns your head in a similar way? how does looking at bits of the hud work?

Oh, I was referring to a monitor. People just enjoy it when I sort of roleplay as my character a little bit, so I try to only talk about things as if they were in the ‘verse. It’s sort of like playing dnd without metagaming, if that makes any sense lol glad you enjoyed it!

Sure! I bought a 4090, 7950x3d, and 64 gbs of ddr5 ram I had to underclock to 7200mhz because anything more than that on my mb is unstable
