Although true he also claims to be the goat. I know that there's been some PR going ohh the go doesn't talk like that now But for many many years he was claiming to be the goat period. Now he's trying to play the humble role and a lot of people forget that for a long time he ran around saying he was the best the goat pointing at his rings. It was part of his PR campaign for everything that he was pushing at the time. but times have changed So the PR must change with it So PR my gas light the public and make them think that ohh jordan will never do that. Can't tarnish is a good name. and with lebron coming out and saying that he was the best ever they couldn't have Jordan trying to defend himself It's if he did. Which is why now it's the humble Jordan that we're seeing. it's business people Stop acting like there's no there's no PR going on You're spreading propaganda. Go watch the videos yourself It's not hard to find them.

Pippen, Longley and Kerr missed a lot of games due to Injuries.
Rodman was getting off the rail.
Kukoc and Harper didn't really stepped up on offense. Team was so depleted MJ had to dig deep and rely on players like Scott Burrell

Pippen = Mr Passive Aggressive. Look, Michael WAS the star. He WAS the draw. He was Michael Jackson. Pippen was Jermaine. It doesn't mean the teammaters were not important but MJ was a once in a lifetime talent and performer. People rearranged their day to watch him play. He was hugely successful. His game was charismatic. If Pippen played in most places, he'd be as known as Paul George. If he played with Magic, he'd be as known as Worthy or Cooper. But because Pippen played with MJ, everyone knows his name. That's the part he doesn't get. His fame rose with MJ"s. Now it didn't rise as far as MJ's did but it shouldn't have. MJ was the gravy train. No one would have stopped their lives to watch a document on the Lakers to see James Worthy. It would be about Magic. To his credit, Worthy understands that and accepts it. Mr Passive Aggressive wants the same adulation as the most exciting player to ever play. Stop it. Pippen was a great player but his game was boring by comparison. No one would have watched the Bulls with Scottie as their leader all those years. I know because I watched the Bulls during Pippen's whole career. Die hard Bulls fans would know who Scottie was but no one else would have tuned in. He would have been the small forward version of Tim Duncan in terms of ratings.

When anyone says that MJ was selfish, that was not a result of special treatment from Dean Smith at UNC. On the contrary, Smith held him in check. The "selfishness" came because of his first Bulls coach, Doug Collins. Collins put everything on Michael mainly because they didn't have much of a team, and he knew Mike could score at will. But this style wouldn't win championships. That's why Collins was replaced by Jackson. Jackson had to convince Mike to trust his teammates and let them make mistakes. Allow them to fail so they would grow. It also helped that they drafted better players to put around Mike. And even though Pippen played Robin to Mike's batman, there was always a reliable but overlooked third player. In the first 3-peat, it was Horace Grant. If anyone was underappreciated, it was Grant. Then, in the second 3-peat, we all know about Rodman, I can't say he was underappreciated. I'd say Rodman was taken for granted. He was there, but the focus was on the "dynamic duo."

I saw MJ teach Pip everything since he was a rookie but pip unfortunately has a beta mentality. When MJ retired, Pip actually said he didn't know that it was this hard being a leader and he begged for Jordan to come back. Pip's beta mind is showing itself right now. Complaining that when MJ compliments him that it's patronizing, wow that is some weak, child stuff. That's like my ex hating on her dad for caring too much about wealth while she's living in a five bedroom penthouse on Park Avenue, paid by him of course. Pip has been so spoiled by MJ's success that he can write books and complain that he wants more. I think it's time to downgrade Pip since we know his beta flaws have played out many times but how many more are there? MJ needs to be elevated because he actually won with this type of sidekick. Now I have to doubt whether Pip really had a migraine or was really injured in all those crucial moments in the first place because he may just have not wanted Jordan to win, think about that. I do recall going through era that Pip always seemed to have a problem at the worst time. This topic needs to be researched seriously.

To think Barkley is still a beast even he gets fat in rockets alongside with Hakeem their leading scorer in rockets they never get a ring this exposed Pippen being just overrated.

Sad that pippen hated being cast by mj & the media NBA as in his shadow but he puts his book out & pippen sells it based on mj. So way to put urself in mjs shadow . What an ingrate. If pippen were drafted by any other team no way would he have gotten that kind of attention & exposure. I could name 10 small fwds at least in that Era that were as good if not better than pippen but b/c they werent the teammate to mj they are forgotten. Mj had the global spotlight on him & pippen got so much hype exposure etc. He got his enormous contract b/c mj came back. If he didn't the bulls were barely a .500 team & close to being dismantled. Rodman actually was huge in 98 when selfish pippen had his surgery so he didn't mess his summer up. That's great to ur other teammates. Such a spoiled selfish brat. Many other players during the 90s tried to tell us pippen really wasn't as great as he was made out to be. He's actually the best role player ever but on his own & not next to mj he'd be a Kendall gill or Clarence Weatherspoon. Also pippen took over o playoff games has o last second shots & his only memorable play was dunking on an already falling back Patrick Ewing & than standing over him really disrespectful then pointing in spike Lee's face. People were like omg pippen alone carried the bulls that first year mj left. How about that was Toni kucok first year which helped a lot & Horace grant stepping up his game. End of the day they were bounced in the 2nd round. So they were obviously nowhere near the mj bulls & the next season like I said they were barely .500. Also pippen was warned by everyone not to sign that long contract that was front loaded. So it's misleading to say the last years of the contract he was so underpaid b/c of the cap he was paid well & on a level w/ very good players. To not play hard b/c of a contract u had to sign against the advice of even the owner who said next year I can give u more don't sign this b/c I won't renegotiate later. Again NBA had a cap not like the mlb where it's unlimited spending. So once a player signed a contract based on the restrictions of the cap it was very difficult to renegotiate when u had 11 other contracts to worry about all being below the cap.
Scottie has always seemed beyond immature & took a contract that he demanded & wanted the money, the biggest chunks the first few years & he also demanded it be long term. So it's his own problem he got locked into the contract that he wound up hating. When pippen sat out that play it was so incredibly despicable. Esp given the bulls were in danger of going down 0-3 to the Knicks. The fact that the man says he'd do it again speaks volumes to what kind of person he Is. So him sitting out told the Knicks scottie wasn't even a decoy so they knew to double up on kukoc & he still hit the shot. I was a Knicks fan & people wondered why pat Riley loved a John starks so much. In 92 when starks was playing his heart out guarding mj & being a huge factor in how they took the bulls to 7 starks was making the league minimum wage. Which was 100k a year. So was starks whining over him playing & contributing way more than Gerald Wilkins who was making like 1 million a year? Yes its hard to believe but even the best players like a mj " only " made in 92 tops 3 million a year. Scottie was a millionaire playing a kids game instead of working some manual hard labor job. He should have Been grateful not so worried about who was making what & again his dumb self was greedy & not smart & wanted that exact contract when the owner said next year I'll have a better contract for you b/c of the cap & u having another year of experience. Pippen wanted the $$ now & like I said it looked like he was payed so poorly the last few years b/c he made the big portions of the salary the first few years. That's how the contract was constructed. So his first few years he might have been the 2nd highest paid on the team. Since he also wanted a long term contract as inflation & the salary cap got larger yes other newer players or traded players made more based on their contracts from other teams or what inflation demanded was now what a certain crop of players were worth. So when pippen signed the contract 7 years before if in the 5th year he was making say a million nobody knew the NBA would get as big as it did & the league would expand the cap & who can predict the inflation numbers 5 years down the road. I think the bulls didn't have the room to negotiate what pippen I'm sure was demanding. The bulls might not have had the room to give pippen what he probably demanded which I'm sure was ridiculous. Once they had the room they did a sign & trade for an absurd amt of money given pippens age of like 34 & he's being paid a fortune over a lot of years when his best years were behind him & he was still unhappy wherever he went. Houston Portland then he went back to Chicago! The place he hated so much.

What Scottie doesn't understand is that a lot of players back in the 80-90s could replaced him and Jordan would still won't 5-6 titles. Jordan was that good and just needed that much help. On the other hand Scottie could have also played with a lot of other players back then and his career would be no where near what it was. Now he might score a bit more than 16 PPG if he was the number 1 option on other teams, but he wouldn't have won as many championships as he did without playing with Jordan. He played with Hakeem and Barkley, 2 HOF and they got bounced in the 1st round of the playoff. After 1998 when Jordan retired for the 2nd time Pippen played 6 more years and averaged around 11 PPG. His team made the playoff 5 out of 6 years so his teams were not bad, but his team also got bounced from the playoff in the 1st round 4 out of 5 times. Pippen had the chance to elevate his game and show what he could do after Jordan retired. He didn't.

As a diehard Celtics fan my whole life, I have only feared playing one player every single game against him. That was Jordan. He literally took over games when his team may have been off. Legit have never had that feeling since. He was Larry Bird but with ridiculous athletic ability. Top 2 basketball IQ's hands down, IMO. When you add Scottie, it was almost unfair to everyone. Both were amazing two way players. To hear they hated each other even then, in Scottie's views, makes me wonder how much more amazing they could have been if they loved each other. I think it's just aged resentment at always being considered a #2. He's in the HOF for what he did. Noone can take that shine for eternity. Someday I hope he realizes that and gets past this drama. Anyways, that's my two cents.

That's not credit? And when Pippen says that Jordan gets credit when winning but not in losing, not including the years before '91, when did they lose? Sure they lost games, but at the end of the day, they won the title. Scottie put himself in a bad position. During the interview he had a chance to redeem himself when asked about the incident where he sat out the last play. What did he say? "If I had the chance to do it all over again, I would have probably did the same thing". And as for being "the supporting cast", so who was it? What happened in 93-94 season? What happened in Houston and Portland? Pippen is one of the greatest no doubt about it, but he has to stop talking.

The Bulls pick Scottie and Horace in the same draft.
    Krause made those moves.
Bulls trade Oakley to get it done with Cartwright.
    Scottie and Horace, still emerging.
Without these things happening they don't reach the finals over Detroit.
Proof: Scottie's headache in final game 89 Eastern Conference Championship.
MJ could it alone, but nice try. Horace or (I think Cliff Livingston) couldn't pick up the slack enough to overcome Bad Boys.
Scottie had to bulk up and mature. Jordan needed help..( just a note here..if Jordan doesn't get help he turns into Oscar before Kareem, or Pistol Pete).
91 Bulls get 2cd Ring Scottie goes for secure contract.
Reinsdorf tries to talk him out of it but Scottie insists.
From then on thru the 90s Scottie can't let it go when others pass him by monetarily.
Becomes a thorn in his side..
He gas flashes of brilliance but just misses on the ref throwing the NY game in 94.
    End of 95 MJ return.
They lose in playoffs and regroup for 96.
MJ and Bulls win 3 yrs straight..no question its the group of:
    MJ
    SCOTTIE
    RODMAN
    Harper
    Kucoch
    Lonely.
    Group win.
Without any one of those players they don't win!

Base on this video Scott reaction, its makes me wonder cuz most of it's contradict specially at contract, base on Scott manager he got warned to not sign the contract again to Bulls but he choose it now he blame everything. Also when I was kid watching NBA, Scott never ever heard he complained except about Kukok last shot, now decades ago he pop up in era of entitlement

Scotty is just trying to sell a book.
Jordan quite often credited Scotty when asked.
    That $10m all donated.

Oh Scottie…… let it go. This is so belittling of you. Putting yourself in the same boat with Isiah Thomas. Both pathetic.
    Move on and be happy.

No kidding. Isiah's on something every week whining about MJ's comments or how Pistons (for a while) beat the Bulls.

Bitterness by Pippen is justified hence "Last Dance" extra stirred up emotions. Imagine how these players felt with Jordan in media for 30 years, he's getting paid, I firmly believe that media narrative goes with marketing goals in wider sense.
MJ is Airness because rings and rings don't come without a team....

To all you people who clearly don’t know the game. MJ was a great player, but not the Goat of NBA as a whole. The Bulls were a great team for an era with many great players that don’t get the credit for their greatest. Pippen was the player who surely help The Bulls become a dynasty!

Pippens reaction is not about basketball like other comments here make it but the documentary.. Jordan was selfish, and just because he was a great player you favor him immediately even if Pips arguments are valid

If you think about it, Football (or soccer as The Americans called it), never had so many unnecessary stupid issues like US does. Even NHL & NBL had the same problems. As for NFL, I cannot make any comparisons because that sport itself uses HANDS to grab the ball yet the name is FOOTBALL.
