My Son sadly passed away on September 10th 2015, he was 33 and a huge fan of Anime and Studio Ghibli. we played this at the funeral service, gave us much comfort.
When I was about 9, I would watch this movie every day, and every day, I'd cry at the end--like, *hysterically* cry. As a kid, I couldn't explain what made me cry. My parents decided it best to give me a break from it for awhile, so I didn't watch it for years. Nowadays, I still cry while watching it. But now I understand why I cry. Thank you, Studio Ghibli, for letting me feel such profound emotions
the thing is, everyone here has a different reason why they love this song so much, whether it be a person, a memory, a feeling or a different reason. It's so special to so many people for all different reasons and that's the beauty of it I hope for whatever the reason it is for you, you find what you dreamed for and you carry on with your adventures to find happiness. 🧡💖
Death is the reason why life is such a miracle. It gives value; a reminder that we are only here for a short time, making the best moments worth countless times more than what they would be if we were immortal.
I remember watching this movie back when I was in Vietnam, my home country. Now, I'm studying abroad in the US. I miss my parents, my grandparents, my friends. I miss the road that I used to walk to school. I miss the food my grandma used to cook for me. I miss everything. But I chose to study abroad to have a better future, so I must keep going on and be strong
Vy Tran but your family travels with you in your heart and soul so they are always with you even when you're feeling down and with technology they're never that far away
The nostalgia of this music hits me so much. The feeling that you want to go back to your childhood, where nothing happens and filled with happiness. The time when your life doesn't have any problems.. I remember i watched this movie when i was 4/5 years old on TV, and love Haku so much! I never knew the name of the Movie, and was really sad that i even forgot the name of the characters. But i always remember the time when Chihiro is crying while eating Onigiri, the train scene, and the scene where Chihiro's parents turned into pigs. That scene- literally made me scared as a kid. But one time, an animated short film was in my recommendations. It's about Chihiro and Haku met together, and i was happy because i found the name of my most favorite movie of all time! I re-watch Spirited Away for the second time and cried all the way. And now i always re-watch Spirited Away once a year. Seriously, i never get bored of the movie. It's just so peaceful, and calming. To anyone reading this, i wish you all healthy and happy. It's kind of sad that we all should stay in house and cannot go anywhere. But it gives me time to think that life isn't enough without new things and adventures outside. While hearing this music, maybe some of you are now angry, sad, or maybe just normal. But i just want to say that you should never give up on your life problems. You can always cry. And it is not a sign that you are weak, it is a sign that you are a human. You have feelings. Always remember your loved ones. Remember the good times in your life. Maybe things are not what you expect to be, but life isn't always good. The greatest teacher of your life is learning from the past and fix it. You can always take a break from your problems, but never give up! It's your life isn't it? It's you who decide what's next. Just, keep moving forward, okay? Never look back to your sad pasts. Promise? Promise. P.S, i cried reading all the sad comments while the music is playing (╥_╥)
Thank you so much for this comment! This reminds me that internet can also be a really good and positive place. Ur comment made me smile and brought so much peace. I wish you all the best and remember never give up! :)
As a kid I used to think this movie was strange but for some reason I always loved it. While I was watching the movie I felt like I was personally being comforted by Haku. I’ve always found it difficult to find the right person where I can be fully vulnerable without feeling ashamed. I rarely feel safe enough with someone. Deep inside i’m still waiting for my Haku.
I can identify so much with this. I think I found my Haku and just this year at 29, but who knows :') But I totally get you. Stay strong. There are people like that for us out there. I wish I could say more, but I hope you know you're not alone and that I wish you the best.
The other day as the leaves began to change for fall I skipped one of my college classes to go drive around the scenic loop of a park while I had this playing on loop. It was probably one of the best decisions of my life. I suggest everyone tries it at least once in their lifetime.
I skipped a day of uni just to go on a 1hr bus trip to the beach all by myself, unplanned and I didn't tell anyone. I just felt like going. I ended up buying a platter of fish and chips and just sat underneath a shady tree all day sketching the scenery with nothing but a uni note book and pen. It was nice.
This comment probably won’t relate to anyone.. but I grew up in poverty, and movies are all I ever had ... especially this one; my life growing up as a child was horrifying I’ve seen an experienced so many stuff no child should ever... and this film always made me feel at home no matter where I was, and I thank my mom for always being there for me and taking care of me at the toughest times, now 17 still young but these past years man I’ve been going through hell for a youth I’ve been incarcerated and in custody many times if I add up all times and hours I’d probably say a good 5 months I was incarcerated... I really do wanna change for the good but it is really hard when you grew up in such a crazy lifestyle... I just need help anyone ... please
Yung Tetro Then change. If you want to change, then you can change. Nothings holding you back from changing. Only yourself. If you understand, then change. Do the thing you see fit.
I dont know you but i want to say that no matter what you are an amazing person. You should have not gone through those things, but you need to keep going forward no matter what happens. I am glad this movie brings you joy, keep going back to the things that make you happy, spread them to others, you can make a huge impact on the world. You just need to take care of yourself first. I support you even uf i dont know you.
You might not like it, but if you're willing to change you have to accept that you'll have to shed your old skin and not look back for a while. You have to learn new skills, emotionally react differently, get to know different people and proactively seek opportunities you normally would never have imagined. It means coming up with multiple solutions to the problems in front of you and accepting responsibility for the good or bad that comes of it. I know I can't fully understood your situation, but I sincerely hope you find a way out into a life that is uniquely and beautifully yours young internet stranger.
This song was one of the 3 we played at the funeral service of my partner last year. Its calm, beautiful, relaxing, at times energetic and bubbly, at times silent and deep, and the very embodyment of serenity. It calms me down and makes me think of you. Makes me remember us, gives me time to run my thoughts over familiar scenes...to remember their shape. To remember these moments of serenity, where nothing mattered except for us. Almost one year later, and I still listen to it. A reminder of the most beautiful pictures of us laying on your bed, watching Spirited Away. It was the last movie we watched together, just a couple of days before you passed. But it also tears into my heart, and reminds me that you are no longer physically here. Reminds me of your funeral. And the pain and desperation. During those times, the world becomes small, and I dont remember my own name. But looking at our pictures, your green eyes, our time together, reminds me of what we had, of what is still in my heart. You are never truly gone, only in the next room. I miss you more than words could ever describe. Miss your hugs, your dadjokes, your smell, your positivity, and the calm serenity when we were together. Where nothing else mattered, except for us. I will find my way home, to you. My best friend, my love, my partner. Dein Knuddel.
Rizky Putra The most heartbreaking part of the movie because you know they won't ever see each other again. When chihiro let's go of his hand he just stays there frozen for a second, and I can only imagine it's because he let someone he loved go. When I first watched that scene I remember feeling so so sad, it didn't even happen to me but I still felt a deep ache right in my heart.
Hope Sanchez jerking back tears here, I'll never forget the pain I felt watching her cross the river, not after she lifted his curse, not after he had always been with her, especially not after they embraced each other, falling through the sky together, I'm so grateful that I will always have the memories of this movie and how it made me feel
Hope Sanchez how come you say they'll never see each other again? They met before when Chihiro was younger, in the normal world, so why couldn't they meat again?
When I was a kid watching it like 2003 when I was 7 it made me cry and it was scary because as a kid your worst fear was losing your parents . I saw it yesterday and I miss my parents looking back I should've cherished them more..
My mom just passed a few weeks ago and I am missing her everyday. I always go back listening to this and helps me bring many memories. I love her very much 😔
When it comes to hearing this, I just sometimes wish I wasn't alone. Update: Here I am now, happier than I could be. I am grateful for your support. :]
Its hard not to get emotional while listening to this song, it reminds me of every time i have cried while watching this movie. This movie is incredibly sacred and this song could not be more perfect. No one but us Hayao Miyazaki fans can truly appreciate this song.
whenever I listen to this, I get nostalgic over when times were much more simple in my life. when I was so young and didn't have to care about anything. now I'm a teenager and I know my childhood is being whisked away from me. I realize that from now on, life will only get more difficult. I miss being five and still having hope for the world.
I can relate to this so much. I miss the time in my life when I could dream about being whatever I wanted to, but now I have to be realistic with my goals because there isn't as much time to decide on them like there used to be.
Katie, I know exactly what you mean. I am 24 now, but I can tell you this now - although more responsibilities will come, you can always keep the soul of a child! Never grow up on the inside and life will still be beautiful and magical. The only thing is that it still won't be the simple childhood life that you're mentioning. That we will always hold as memories.
I know this is 10 months old, but you just need to keep in mind that every stage of your life is different, but that childhood you had will always be yours and will always be with you; I'm 21 now and I do miss being a child but I realize I will always cherish having that experience, and someday when I have my own children I will experience how they see the world with wonder; it's a cycle and it's beautiful, you have so much to look forward to and I hope you find joy no matter how old you are. I think it's so lovely people come together on a piece of music or for a movie that we all love deeply and can relate to eachother. Sending all my love and best wishes to everyone in this thread. 💖
I used to watch this movie all the time when I was younger with my dad. Nothing has happend to him but it’s so nostalgic. This song makes me so happy I can’t explain. It brings back that feeling of joy and happiness. I was only around 5-6 when I watches this but I understood everything. I wish I was 5 again so I could watch this movie the same way again. This song and all the others from studio ghibli they make me feel like I’m in Japan eating my yummy food, having happy memories, on the sofa, watching this movie. I genuinely can’t explain how much comfort this song brings me. The way the song was written perfectly. I know other people love this movie just as much as I do and I’m sure they understand the feeling of happiness, comfort, joy and more. The music is perfect, and so is the art style. Everything in studio ghibli is perfect. :)
I know it’s insignificant, but I was bullied a lot in school. My amazing English teacher played this movie in class one day and it was like a little sanctuary was made. It was just me, a snack and a drink, and the bathhouse.
Very sad movie. It just relates to life, especially how some people disrespect their parents, and how they can be taken from you in an instant and you feel alone and worthless without them. Love your parents people. They don't last forever.
Have you ever experienced something so profoundly beautiful that you become genuinely sad after you experience it, because you know it will be a long time before you ever feel that way again? This movie does that to me every time I watch it.
YES! Studio ghibli films always make me feel like that and I can never explain it!!! It makes me want to go back to the ‘good old days’ that I never even existed during. Like the movies are soo beautifully animated it makes it soo peaceful and lovely but also so sad and lonely that I wouldn’t wanna be there?? Does that make sense
I'm Venezuelan I remember clearly when I went to see this movie in Caracas when I was just 7 years old. It gave me so much Nostalgia to listen to this song. It brought back so many memories of when I was a little kid, now I live alone in the US my parents are still in Venezuela but the rest of my family left the country and now they live in Spain. I miss my family so much I just want to see them again. I feel very lonely here. Cherish every moment in life. Those memories will never come back. The song and this movie made me cry so much I don't know why.
I can’t explain it but this song just gives me so much joy, so much hope, and love. I love this movie. Easily one of if not my top three ghibli movies. Beautiful. That is all I can say
Some of the scenes from the movie (Spirited Away), especially those that have the part of this music that starts at 3:05 made me cry (don't know why, espesially if you mind the fact that I am a 27 year old man).
Everytime time I listen to songs made by ghibli, I remember the days when I used to sit at home with my old mini dvd player where I used to watch ghibli films. It's such a nostalgic feeling even though the memories are vague. But I'm glad I was able to experience the ride with all of you. The songs and the animation will always be my treasure to keep until I grow old. Thanks Ghibli for such a wonderful ride, I'll be expecting more to come.
This song reminds of a friend I once had, she was always up to something, very mischievous, however she had a reeeeally strict father who often beat her. After primary school we lost contact but a couple months ago I had a dream like I was meeting her. I'd love to see her again.
this song means so much. I listened to this song when I had to say goodbye to my best friend at the airport. I listened to this as I watched his plane take off for London. This song made me think of when Chihiro said goodbye to Haku, her best friend. I thought "I'll see him again, I just know it" This song has brought me comfort when I miss him because I know that I'll see him again soon.
I remember as a kid we only had enough money to own a few dvd’s, and this movie was one of the movies I chose to buy. So I’d just put this on every night before I went to bed during high school (these were pre-Netflix times). And then during the summer when I was with my first (and possibly the only) love, we’d just lay around in my room, talking and laughing with this movie just playing in the background. It’s been almost 12 years and it hurts to admit that I still think about her and those summer memories til this day. Obviously I loved, or at least tried to replicate that idea of “love” with other girls all in-between. However I don’t think I’ve ever met any other person who can somehow take a song from a movie that I haven’t watched in a decade (probably because I’m avoiding it like a lil bish) and just encapsulate it with a memory that evokes such strong, vivid emotions. I can’t help but to wonder if she too has her tiny share of nostalgia that also hits her unexpectedly on a Wednesday afternoon like the glacial rush you get when your first jump into the ocean. And despite however much distance time has put between us, we still can share this brief moment where we both actually remember how it felt to be that happy and that in love. Or maybe not, maybe I’m the only one. Which probably explains why I decided to even share to the world something I’ve kept to myself all these years. Oddly enough, I feel a bit better.
If I could sum this song up in three words it would be “take me back”. Listening to this I feel so nostalgic but I don’t know why. On one side I almost feel like I was Chihiro and experienced everything for real and if I close my eyes I can see the calm ocean and clouds in the spirit world floating. But I think this mainly reminds me of my childhood when everything was bright and exciting and life was full of endless possibilities. I wish it was still like that. I wish I could see life as an adventure as I did when I first watched this movie.
This song sweetly reminds me of the time a little over a year ago when my mother and I were in the hospital. She had a blood clot and I had to help her while we were there, and I had this song playing repeatedly a majority of the time. :)
I find myself coming back to this song all the time. It invokes such profound emotions in me and I need that. I listen to this in times of sadness, anger, comfort, joy, or when I’m just simply taking a drive. Miyazaki knows how to get at my core with all things in his movies but this one has a special place in my heart. I watched this when I was 6 or 7 and it left the greatest impression on me. This song reminds me of the vulnerable child in me that I want to keep. Thanks Miyazaki
Whenever i hear this song my tears starts falling down and i remember The end of Spirited Away when Haku said Dont ever look back okay? And They promise each other that they will gonna meet😭 saddest moment😥😣😭😩
This song reminds me of my childhood. When everything was okay, when all my family was still here. My mom, dad, and brother would watch Studio Ghibli movies. When I hear this I think about how I took my childhood for granted; I just wanted to grow up. I now look back at the small moments like having a fun family game night while we had Spirited Away playing in the background. I miss you Tyler, Ma, Grandma, Pawpaw, Brandon, Pops, and Nanny Thank you for making every second of my childhood fun and memorable. ❤️
this has been my favorite movie since i was 2. it's been my favorite for 16 years and it's never changed it makes me cry everytime i hear it or watch. im crying right now. I have and always will love you Spirited Away!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow, is this movie seriusly so old? It's the first movie I have memories of seeing in the Cinema with my dad, we've seen every single one of their movies, and this still has a special place. Damm, I'm gonna go see him in a couple of days, we are gonna whatch this with my little brother
i watched this film last night and i am speechless, shocked and amazed. i've heard people saying it was good and i thought its not for me but seriously this is a work of out rather than a normal movie.
This music does make one feel better and it completely takes their mind off of what was stressing them! So peaceful to the soul and gives the opportunity for us to shed a tear or two, to let all the negative energy out and get back safely to reality after a relief! 💙💙
i used to watch this movie every day, and i parents would always tell me to stop watching it, and then i finally decided to have a little break, when i saw this again, i instantly watched through the whole thing, and now im obssesed with it again, haha.
Everyone has their own opinion and a lot of parts of the movie are emotional but I think that the most emotional part of the movie is when Chihiro has just gotten back from seeing the pigpens and she is eating the rice cake and then she just breaks down. I think this really shows how horrible the situation is for her and how scared and sad she is. Chihiro really just wants her parents and her normal life back. That scene gives the audience a glimpse of Chihiro's pain. The scene where Kohaku and Chihiro have to separate is sad too, but its a little more hopeful, as if they both hope they will see each other again. If you think that Kohaku and Chihiro's separation is the saddest part, then I totally respect that but I have a different opinion. This music made me think of that scene :'(
I watched this the first time when I was 4 years old. It’s really a one in it’s kind movie because it can affect you and emotional no matter your age, it’s good every time.
theres not many things more beautiful than this... But in any case, the most beautiful piece of music i've ever heard, is from studio ghibli... There is nothing more beautiful than this... magical, emotional, deep and epic at the same time. Beautiful, perfect, I can't describe this with words. This society we live in right now is full of darkness, drugs, alcohol and people throwing away their lives without even being conscious about it... But this music just reminds me to keep going... not to stop. Life will become bright again, I really don't have so many high hopes, but definetly, studio ghibli has saved my life. Theres no music that has made me shed tears ever, until I discovered studio ghibli. Astonishing. I wish the best life to everyone listening to this. Quit alcohol, quit drugs, quit everything that can destroy your life. And live loving, caring, being nice... enjoy nature... enjoy life.
I remember this song. My grandpa (who was like more my dad) bought the Disc when I was four? five? years. He and my grandma would sit with me and we would watch Spirited Away until the record crashed. It is a great nostalgia to be able to remember them like this.
That is seriously untrue. Good quality music does not have to be only from one kind of genre of music. You and others have different opinions you know.
+Maximilian Tay I'm not saying that this particular genre is good. A good quality song is a song with balance in sound, complex in a way you can find your way through a normal sized maze, and the right set of tones will take part of it too. This could be anything else but classical music.
Ghibli always takes me to a place I cannot even name, its like a strange peaceful world that we all remember but we dont know where and when we experienced it.
I repeat this song many times but why my tears start falling down whenever im listening of this song😭 its because no one can beat the power of love of Haku and Chihiro😭😩 saddest moments
Everyone here are talking about really sad or emotional stuff, while I've seen the movie once when I was a child and got scared of the parents getting turned to pigs and stopped watching it. I barely remember anything from that time, but for some reason I remembered this movie. I remembered scenes of it, maybe I watched it more than once? I don't know. But every time I remembered the movie, I remembered the scene with the train, I filled with this sort of bliss that I couldn't explain. I was just happy and calm for some reason. Not long ago I watched the movie again, and it's amazing how much the music affected me after all these years, while not even remember the movie almost at all. It's amazing how it can make you have such emotions when you're still a small kid and don't even fully understand what's happening or the emotional connection between haku and chihiro. If I'm being honest I still don't fully understand why it makes me have those feelings, but it does. Maybe I don't have a specific story about losing someone, or my tough childhood or something like that, I didn't even watch the movie a lot as a kid... but still... this movie has this thing, almost like magic, that I can't explain.
I should've studying Science and History for tomorrow final semester exam. And yet here I am, crying while listening to this song. I don't want to leave the life that I have right now. I'm so stressed out right now. I don't know what's my next move. I don't want to leave. I don't want to leave. I don't want to fail. I just need a little more time. I'm not ready for it. I just want to turn back time. Studio Ghibli, thank you for creating a comfort movie for me. I really thankful. Thank you. 10 January 2024
This song may be the most beautiful song I’ve ever heard, at least to me. It feels like a punch right to the chest and I feel a wave of sadness. Yet… it feels hopeful. I think this song describes melancholy so well.
To whoever gets to read this, you are probably dealing with something right now but just know that no matter what you will be alright music is the key to the soul and the only way to truly find yourself is through music, think about we all went through an emo phase 😂, and what can we say except man I really love My Chemical Romance, we all go through a phase where we want to fit it in so we listen to rap or whatever is trending even if we don't understand what they are saying, my best advice is to stay to true to you don't let anyone bring you down no matter what (even if they sit on you) pick yourself up and take a moment to be thankful for everything that you have accomplished
omg you made me soo happy right when i read this it made me cry cause you helped me think of something very mindful to me it was my uncle he died from cancer 5 days ago and. Just thank you so much for saying this to me and every one else
My first movie i was watching with mom and my little brother it still in my heart I can said many times I had watched this movie. Still can’t explain about my feeling just understand this such a great one emotional.
Studio ghibli songs are produced so beautifully and you can tell that there is real effort and emotion put into the music and movies. Love studio ghibli more than I love myself
This music makes me calm, and gives me a lot a nostalgia. When I was a kid. I used to play with my cousins. Also at camping. Life goes short. Once you die, it will be kinda sad. But good thing it was the best life you had. You’ll start a new life with God. You’ll rest in peace in your other life. Start a new life in heaven. I wish everybody is kind, respectful, and happy. Have a great day ❤.
This song unlocks the most happiest and saddest moments of my life. I can recall to a point of my childhood, a lost memory where im walking back from the playground holding hands with my uncle giving my sister a piggyback ride. 9 years later and im looking down at his open casket. This song brings so much emotion to me.
This perforates my heart from an impalpable angle. Have you ever heard something so pure and beautiful that it made your heart ache as if it were forcibly being rid of it's impurities? I love the bittersweet nostalgia of this melody, so much so that it brings me to tears.
kirbyxfan223 Why 52? That’s funny because this song reminds me of my dad who I love so much and when I was a kid I remember watching Spirited Away with him. I miss him right now although I see him most days. Anyway it’s strange because he’s 52 years old.
Words can’t even describe how this movie, and this song, make me feel. It’s such an abstract feeling of bittersweet, but somehow hopeful and not quite tangible. This piece of art is and likely will always be one of the best things I’ll get the pleasure to see while I’m here.
😭😭😭 I just cry with this song as it evokes all the emotions of sadness but there is eternal hope where we are forgiven for our sins. Thank you God for this one life and to experience the genius of such composers. Let us enjoy each day one more time. Bless everyone

To think that a man halfway across the globe had such an impact on my life. Thank you Miyazaki. Your movies are beyond this world
His movies are somehow eternal. The magic never fades in the drawings, no matter how old they are.
Japan really is a safe country
Here we are in 2024, and listening to this, I realize that it is still a masterpiece, and will probably always be one.
Thank you Studio Ghibli.
One of Miyazaki's best works. So serene, bittersweet, yet beautiful. :)
Do you know where I can find the other movies of his to stream online? just until I can purchase the DVD's.

The world is filled with hate and fighting, but I love how when it comes to music we can all just sit and enjoy it together. So peaceful.
Same ! This soundtrack calms me . And make me cry too while remembering all my childhood memories .
@@mf288 Thank you ^^
Man I'm about to cry reading all the comments and hearing this amazing song.
Ps. Is it just me or are most songs from anime amazing
Thank you so much for this comment! This reminds me that internet can also be a really good and positive place. Ur comment made me smile and brought so much peace. I wish you all the best and remember never give up! :)
This comforted me, and resonated with me so much... Thank you, stranger, for existing. I wish more people were like you.

@@momsspaghetti-sd9sn We put her down 2 years ago but I still love her she's gonna be my childhood pup. Thanks for asking man
As a kid I used to think this movie was strange but for some reason I always loved it. While I was watching the movie I felt like I was personally being comforted by Haku. I’ve always found it difficult to find the right person where I can be fully vulnerable without feeling ashamed. I rarely feel safe enough with someone. Deep inside i’m still waiting for my Haku.
With anime most of it makes no sense to my conscious mind, yet it's more familiar than a native tounge to my subconscious
I can identify so much with this. I think I found my Haku and just this year at 29, but who knows :') But I totally get you. Stay strong. There are people like that for us out there. I wish I could say more, but I hope you know you're not alone and that I wish you the best.
If i was her i would never want to leave haku his dragon form is so cool no one can deny that😢😢😢😊😊😊

The other day as the leaves began to change for fall I skipped one of my college classes to go drive around the scenic loop of a park while I had this playing on loop. It was probably one of the best decisions of my life. I suggest everyone tries it at least once in their lifetime.
Sam Schafer hope you passed your class aha
I skipped a day of uni just to go on a 1hr bus trip to the beach all by myself, unplanned and I didn't tell anyone. I just felt like going. I ended up buying a platter of fish and chips and just sat underneath a shady tree all day sketching the scenery with nothing but a uni note book and pen. It was nice.
Sam Schafer thank you!
I couldnt do that because i would be crying to much and i wouldnt see strait

You really made me cry
Haku: remember, dont look at back
Chihiro: can we meet again??
Haku: yes
Chihiro:promise??
Haku:promise!

Waaaaaaaahhhh
Hope Sanchez how come you say they'll never see each other again? They met before when Chihiro was younger, in the normal world, so why couldn't they meat again?
Haku: remember, dont look at back
Chihiro: fuck you

Its hard not to get emotional while listening to this song, it reminds me of every time i have cried while watching this movie. This movie is incredibly sacred and this song could not be more perfect. No one but us Hayao Miyazaki fans can truly appreciate this song.
the feeling you get from a song like this cannot be replicated; the range of colors and emotions that just come out from this theme is crazy
whenever I listen to this, I get nostalgic over when times were much more simple in my life. when I was so young and didn't have to care about anything. now I'm a teenager and I know my childhood is being whisked away from me. I realize that from now on, life will only get more difficult. I miss being five and still having hope for the world.
I can relate to this so much. I miss the time in my life when I could dream about being whatever I wanted to, but now I have to be realistic with my goals because there isn't as much time to decide on them like there used to be.
As long as you keep magic in your soul hope will always be there think of every snowflake that falls all different but same
Katie, I know exactly what you mean.
Before you get too old, you should read The Little Prince
I know other people love this movie just as much as I do
and I’m sure they understand the feeling of happiness, comfort, joy and more.

Why should children respect parents if the parents don't respect them? Children don't ask to be born, but they are human beings with rights.
jamesgangster211476 I like to think it's about their absence, and having to be mature and grow up too fast, like I did.

This theme explains the whole movie, explains all the feelings chihiro goes through
Have you ever experienced something so profoundly beautiful that you become genuinely sad after you experience it, because you know it will be a long time before you ever feel that way again? This movie does that to me every time I watch it.
YES! Studio ghibli films always make me feel like that and I can never explain it!!! It makes me want to go back to the ‘good old days’ that I never even existed during. Like the movies are soo beautifully animated it makes it soo peaceful and lovely but also so sad and lonely that I wouldn’t wanna be there?? Does that make sense
The name of this is song is “The Name of Life” or “Inochi no Namae”.
Thank you so much. For some reason, I thought it was One Summer’s Day and I couldn’t find this score.

I hope you meet her again
this song means so much.
I can't thank my mother, Studio Ghibli and Hayao Miyazaki enough for bringing me to this unforgettable and highly lovable masterpiece.
This song sweetly reminds me of the time a little over a year ago when my mother and I were in the hospital. She had a blood clot and I had to help her while we were there, and I had this song playing repeatedly a majority of the time. :)

this song takes me back to some sunny days in my childhood
Forever and ever my favourite movie!! It makes me always think back to the time when I was a child and how this movie helped me to get trough life!!!
This music made me think of that scene :'(
When you typed kohaku instead of haku , that made me cry even more lol
I watched this the first time when I was 4 years old. It’s really a one in it’s kind movie because it can affect you and emotional no matter your age, it’s good every time.
The rice cake scene was the first time I cried in 2 years

theres not many things more beautiful than this... And live loving, caring, being nice... enjoy nature... enjoy life.

This movie will never get old. It's themes are still relevant in our modern world.
Truly a masterpiece.
I just watched this movie for the first time during English class, this is such a beautiful movie that I regret not watching earlier
Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, and Howl's Moving Castle are some of my favorite Hayao Myazaki movies. The music is even better for the scenes.
It's so relaxing and I'm sure it helps people to eliminate their stress and anxiety.
It helps me with my anxiety
I remember this song. My grandpa (who was like more my dad) bought the Disc when I was four? five? years. He and my grandma would sit with me and we would watch Spirited Away until the record crashed.
It is a great nostalgia to be able to remember them like this.
12 people have no idea what good quality music is
That is seriously untrue.

I wanted to comment again just to let y'all know I have been listening to this every single day since last week, its so beautiful
Maybe I don't have a specific story about losing someone, or my tough childhood or something like that, I didn't even watch the movie a lot as a kid... but still... this movie has this thing, almost like magic, that I can't explain.
half of the comments are emotional af and i'm just here saying that this song brings me so much memories , I love it sm .

Not only for u
I can't agree more
To whoever gets to read this, you are probably dealing with something right now but just know that no matter what you will be alright music is the key to the soul and the only way to truly find yourself is through music, think about we all went through an emo phase 😂, and what can we say except man I really love My Chemical Romance, we all go through a phase where we want to fit it in so we listen to rap or whatever is trending even if we don't understand what they are saying, my best advice is to stay to true to you don't let anyone bring you down no matter what (even if they sit on you) pick yourself up and take a moment to be thankful for everything that you have accomplished
omg you made me soo happy right when i read this it made me cry cause you helped me think of something very mindful to me it was my uncle he died from cancer 5 days ago and. Just thank you so much for saying this to me and every one else

Thank you !!
My first movie i was watching with mom and my little brother it still in my heart I can said many times I had watched this movie. Still can’t explain about my feeling just understand this such a great one emotional.
Spirited Away is one of the best animated movies ever it's just so amazing
Studio ghibli songs are produced so beautifully and you can tell that there is real effort and emotion put into the music and movies. Love studio ghibli more than I love myself
I'm 60 years old and love this movie, music..
1:20 best part 👌🏻😄❤️😍

Why 52? That’s funny because this song reminds me of my dad who I love so much and when I was a kid I remember watching Spirited Away with him. I miss him right now although I see him most days. Anyway it’s strange because he’s 52 years old.
46 more years to go, stay hydrated
Words can’t even describe how this movie, and this song, make me feel. It’s such an abstract feeling of bittersweet, but somehow hopeful and not quite tangible. This piece of art is and likely will always be one of the best things I’ll get the pleasure to see while I’m here.
😭😭😭 I just cry with this song as it evokes all the emotions of sadness but there is eternal hope where we are forgiven for our sins. Thank you God for this one life and to experience the genius of such composers. Let us enjoy each day one more time. Bless everyone
