This is my favorite tv show OF ALL TIME. Nothing even comes close. This cast was perfection in every way. I loved the California episodes. The episode with William Holden is just pure hilarity, and the one with Van Johnson and the adorable musical number they danced to...just amazing. Thank you for doing this. I loved it so much.
I'm glad you enjoyed it.
@sabrinashelton1997 It's interesting that one of the earliest TV shows/sitcom...is still one of the best today. It's timeless in so many ways.
@@CoopyKat So true!
The good news is on Pluto TV they have an I Love Lucy channel and I put it on every day❤
The first stop was really good too😂. Not sure if you are aware of it,on Pluto TV they have I Love Lucy channel which plays 24/7 ❤and it's free
Every time I watch a tour in one of your videos, I just want to get into a time machine and go back to the happy days of our past! Thanks for another wonderful tour 😊
I'm glad you liked it.
Delightful. This was another pleasant trip down memory lane. Your attention to detail is remarkable. Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it
I have a lot of subscriptions. I watch a lot of RUclips videos, but nobody out there has me smile the entire time I’m watching!! Love your work Marina!!
Aw! Thank you. You made my day.
Out of all the apartment/house sets on "I Love Lucy", I loved the Hollywood Hotel the most. It managed to be both chic and cozy at the same time, like a place you could lounge around in and be comfortable, yet also feel classy. It had a striking design, yet wasn't overwhelming. Any "pizzazz" was subtle, such as that tilted metal grid with the stars on it; you noticed it, but it didn't stick out like a sore thumb.
You did an *amazing* job at creating the 4th wall! I love, love, love how you designed the TV and the sconces and the table/chairs and the bar area and the paintings! They match up with the rest of the room beautifully. This is the type of hotel I'd adore staying in; I'd probably never leave during my whole vacation! XD
Plus, in general, I loved the Hollywood episodes the most, with the guest stars perfectly reacting to Lucy's antics in their own unique way. Like I said above, these episodes were glamorous without sacrificing any "homey" feeling. And of course, they were classic and funny as heck!
Finally, GREAT job at hiding all of those Easter Eggs! The only one I noticed was Harpo's horn.
Once again, you've outdone yourself, Marina! Absolutely brilliant hard work! I am thoroughly impressed!!!
Thank you. I would LOVE to stay in a hotel just like this!
@@MarinaCoatesMockingbirdLane You're welcome, and yes, it would be so awesome!
That hotel room was my favorite too, even when I was watching the show as a kid in the 1960s. I always liked the mid-century modern style.
@@garypesci746 Yes, it's a great style! :D
I love the idea of that TV set being something that can rotate. Depending where you are in the room you can still watch whats on.
I got the idea from the Hitchcock film, "North by Northwest." I figured since it was the same time period, it was a possibility. Although in the film, it's ability to swivel aided the plot and they may have possibly designed it just for the set.I won't spoil it if you haven't seen it yet.
I have made many other homes too. You can see all of the other TV and movie home tours I've made here: ruclips.net/user/MarinaCoavideos?view_as=subscriber
My parents first tv swiveled. The tv sat in a frame and that is what swiveled. It looked almost like a box. They had the first tv in our community.
@@thejourney1369 That's cool. I bet that was state-of-the-art at the time.
What a wonderful treat this was. Thank You Marina. 💝

Marina, as an industrial designer and a TV Generation member, I can’t say enough about your art. It is simply stunning. Watching your videos and work add so much pleasure to and enhance the memories of these shows without distorting any of them. You design eye is also one-of-kind. Thank you for your amazing work.
Thank you so much!
Wow...just sitting through the entire series of 'I Love Lucy' and great to have this detailed insight to the set! This was classic comedy one can never tire of and what we need today! Thanks Marina, you're work is amazing!
Thank you. I'm glad you liked it
The algorithm knows me well. I am the freak who doesn't follow plot but notices and looks for every single detail in the background of the show's house. THIS RUclips CHANNEL WAS MADE FOR ME!!! I seriously thought I was the only person who does this! I feel so happy and plan to binge watch this channel for the next several days. I cannot imagine how much time and effort you have put into this but thank you! And you should have many, many more subscribers! I will share this channel!
Yay! I love when I find out that there are others who are into set design to this degree. By the way, I'm currently working on Seinfeld, then it's on to Green Acres.
Yeah! I Love Lucy!!
Me too!
My two favorite stories, when they went to Hollywood and when they moved to the country. I love the suite.
Such great set design, both in Hollywood and the country. I bet the set designer was excited to be given those assignments.
Those were always my favorites too. Next favorite were the trips to Europe and Florida.
Same for me too.
Another fantastic tour - thank you! You not only do amazing work, you pick the best locations to showcase.
Thank you!
You are amazing! These should be put on any future DVD releases of I LOVE LUCY.
Thanks for doing this.

This is great, Marina! It really epitomizes mid century modern, doesn’t it? I love seeing it in color. Your videos are a treat, thank you!♥️
It does. I think it's the most MCM one I've done.
This is so cool I just love this channel. Wow they don’t make television like this anymore not everybody’s into crappy reality TV shows.🤦🏾♀️ so glad I grew up in a generation of television that I did. It was sitcoms they were called sitcoms🔥👏🏾😃❤️
It is such a treat when you post a new tour! Thank you so much for your time and energy. I love all the tours. So fun!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Another incredible "tour" that brings joy to my heart! THANK YOU, Marina, for these amazing experiences!
Great Job Marina. The Hollywood episodes were great. Lucy and her star gazing shenanigans.....😂
They were some of the best.
An amazing concept, wonderfully executed.
I can't thank you enough for the time and effort you must put into researching and executing these fascinating videos.
I hope your obvious passion for what you do never wanes.
I'm glad you're enjoying these tours. I'm currently working on Seinfeld, then it's onto Green Acres.
Loved this! I would love to see the home in which The Nanny was filmed. Thank you for what you do.
I plan on it. 😊
You outdid yourself!!!! I particularly enjoy the color scheme.
Thank you! It would be a fun place to stay.
As I "walk through" these homes, they're so well-done and lovingly crafted... it honestly feels like I'm visiting an with an old friend. Thanks for your hard work and talent. My husband and I wish you continued success with your youtube channel.
Thank you! I love how you worded that - it feels like you're visiting an old friend. 😊
Most delightful. The tour brought back some memories,- many of them, - very funny. That was pure entertainment. Classic now. Thank you. Carol from California
Glad you enjoyed it
Marina, another excellent tour! Keep them coming. Barb
Thank you! Will do!
Hi Marina!
I always look forward to seeing these homes. I Love Lucy is one of my favorite old shows!
🙂
This was fabulous! So well done, loved everything, thank you!
So glad!
Thanks for this, I never realized that they did 18 episodes in Hollywood! One of my favorites was the "Hedda Hopper Story," especially liked the going back and forth with Lucy's mother and "Mickey." 😂 "You didn't ask me!"
Yes. There were so many good episodes during their stay in Hollywood.
I like a lot of 50s and 60s colors and decor ideas. I helped clean a house once that was built in the 50s that had nice floors, built in chest in one bedroom at least, and a blue/turquoise stove in the kitchen! I really liked being there.
I would have loved to have seen that.
Oh yay another Marina video and my fave show too. Thank you!!!!!
🙂
Loved it! Great job as always! 😊
Thank you!! 😊
This is so interesting! I love your channel! I’m so into old TV and movie sets. There’s more interesting facts and character into how film sets were built back in the day. I heard on a different channel about how the crew picked out the color scheme very carefully so that the color gradients would still be vibrant in black and white. I also think that it was interesting that the real hotel was in Beverly Hills. I remember on the first L.A. episode of Lucy, Lucy was looking out the balcony pointing out all the famous L.A. landmarks. I thought it would be impossible to see certain ones because they were in different directions.
I remember growing up, I always wondered why on Lucy they didn’t share a bed. I grew up in the 90s and on the shows then, mom and dad shared beds of course. At home too, my parents shared. This was long before I understood what parents did in bed and how us kids came along. I eventually realized that the network back in the day wanted to be as clean as possible. My how far we’ve come.
They weren't even allowed to show toilets back then. There was one episode on Leave it to Beaver where the tank was shown, but no toilets after that on tv for a long time.
Excellent episode! Easter eggs: I spotted the cup and horn immediately but didn't put 2 and 2 together with the grapefruit and orange. The slab under the bed was brilliant!
The built-in TV was a nice touch.
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it
I'm so happy I found your channel!! I used to love to imagine what these homes would look like in real life, and how easy (or difficult) they'd be to actually live in. Thank you for bringing all of these iconic homes to life!
I'm glad you found the channel too. I'm currently working on Seinfeld. After that - Green Acres.
Loved the tour, great job Marina!

I absolutely love these room recreations. It's the next best thing to be able to see the live sets. I am such a fan. Thank you ❤

Great tour thank you so much for your videos. Your videos magical and it all comes to life

Marina this was a treat! Wonderfully done. I didn't spy the cement footprints under the bed but saw Harpo Marx's horn right away. TY
Good job!

So exciting! I showed the William Holden episode in my graphic design class to demonstrate how set design worked in a black and white world. This set is brilliant. The use of lines and textures to create dynamic backgrounds is a masterwork. Thanks so much!
I love it! Sounds like a fun class.
Once again, Marina, you've hit the ball right out of the park! One question, though: did we never get to see Little Ricky's room? I admit, it's been a while since I've seen the show.
We only got to see it in their New York apartment. We didn't see it in their country home or the Hollywood Suite. We only know where it was.
another great episode! Thanks for all you do!

Great episode and design as always ❤ so many classic moments happened when they were in Hollywood. I always thought that Lucy’s mom had her own room and just came over when she was needed think
I tried to figure that out. It never specifically says. But we do see Little Ricky waking up in the room next to their bedroom. However, that could just be when he was with Lucy and Ricky. It's a bit of an unanswered question.
As usual your video was fun and fact filled. You really are the best. How many of us through the years can't hep but wonder what it would like to walk around these iconic sets. Thanks to YOU we have those fantasies fulfilled! THANK YOU!
Thanks. I'm glad I'm not alone in wanting to do that.

I've been waiting for this! I had asked you when you were doing this particular episode and I thought you said March but I wasn't sure if it might have been April. At any rate, thanks so much for all the hard work you've put into it and all the other episodes and famous movie and tv homes you've done! This was fun and well worth the wait. I actually watch the Hollywood, Europe, and Connecticut episodes every week on Pluto but I missed it this week. So I was delighted to see your post today. It was a lot of fun! Thanks again 😊 Your channel and the I love Lucy show are two shows you don't get tired of.
I got the coffee cup and the horn but missed the grapefruit and orange and John Wayne's foot prints. The grapefruit and orange, though in plain sight was well hidden because I'm just associating their presence in the kitchen with it being just food on the counter. Lol.
Have a great evening!
Thank you. I'm glad you liked it and found it.
Most enjoyable. I have that Haywood Wakefield bedroom bureau with the mirror. During my childhood the kitchen in the house across the street had those blue appliances. Your work amazes me and this tour is just brilliant!

We thank you for your work. You are the best.
Thanks! 😊 Hearing things like that makes it worthwhile.
absolutely fantastic marina - all those colors make it even more wonderful - i also like the idea of the "mother in law suite" and really enjoyed your interpretation of the 4th walls - is the living room 4th wall based on episodic facts or your own creative interpretation? either way LOVE IT - i bet you had a good time making this tour - thanks marina :)
The 4th wall was part clues from episodes and part imagination. The little card table was shown in a few episodes, as if they had pulled it out from somewhere, since it wasn't always there. The wall divider features were inspired by the built-in desk. The swivel TV idea came from the movie, "North by Northwest." I figured it was the same time period, so it was a plausible addition. And the bar seemed to be something that would be in a suite that fancy.
Before cable TV, ILL reruns were on at least 4 times a day here on the east coast and I watched them all, over and over, and so did my friends. So we would repeat the lines to each other for for laughs years after.
Terrific recreation of the Hollywood Hotel.
And I bet you still know all of those lines. 😊
Beautiful.
Thank you!
Yay,I found all the Easter Eggs! Loved this video Marina, ty
Good for you. The concrete block one was hard.
This was great thank you!!!!
I'm glad you liked it.
It's so weird ghosting through that bedroom, seeing the bedroom mirror, and yet not seeing the reflection of a person! I feel like the disembodied soul of a stalker floating through these renderings. It's so creepy! My very favorite element of that set is the tilted metal grid sitting on the planter behind the sofa. It adds so much depth and dimension. Plus, it provokes curiosity, and tricks the eye into believing there's a whole other room back there. I can't get over the importance of the backdrop of Hollywood that sat behind the balcony. As with the set of Frasier, it's an immediately recognizable view that gives us context. It sits silently in the background, but it's certainly not insignificant. Somehow one's subconscious is fooled into believing without question that this space is indeed where they tell you it is. Lastly, and I think I made a very similar comment on your Family Affair video, the sofa, the balcony, and the background behind it, all work together to layer the space which make such a tiny space appear to go on to infinity. I've seen people do this same thing with their own living rooms, and it makes a huge difference in how people interact with the space, as well as how we perceive it. Too many people thrust their living room sofas and chairs up against the walls, and it makes the space appear very uninteresting. My living room is somewhat small, so I made sure I programmed the space in order to create multiple "rooms" within the larger context.
Very good comments! Thank you.
Wish my mom was here to see this. She loved this show. Before her passing, she enjoyed several of your videos. I would love to the homes from Growing Pains, Who's the Boss, Married with Children, and 7th. Heaven.
I'm so sorry about your mom. ❤

Glad you found the channel.
I always loved the Hollywood episodes of I Love Lucy - especially that cool hotel room they lived in! Thanks for posting this, I'm sure you did a lot of work on this as you do on all of your tours. What's interesting is that when Lucy & the gang return to New York, it's kind of a bummer, I always react that way when I see that, even though their NY apartment was cool in its own way. One of my favorite buildings in Los Angeles is the Capitol Records Building. I came SO close to moving into an apartment a while back that had a view of the Capitol Records building, that would have been so awesome!
I agree. It was kind of a bummer when they moved back.
@@MarinaCoatesMockingbirdLane LOLL yep!
Hello Marina, what an epic snap shot of that era!
I thought you'd mention Little Ricky's nursery hanging out over the street; it isn't flush with the building. I always thought Lucy's mother slept in the "baby's" room, as the only other bedroom. I was hoping to see the bathroom. I guess it was never shown in the episodes though. I appreciate how you included a dinette set & a TV, those make perfect sense for living there a month. Thanks for sharing your talent and hard work with us. ❤
