The part about your mom not liking the fan because of feng shui reasons resonates so much with me because my parents feel the same way about certain things in my house. It feels like we spend a lot of time making our space comfortable for ourselves, but all they see are the flaws, even if I know they're doing it out of love.

i feel like its because you 'showing' the space makes them feel like youre asking for advice (kinda like when you were a kid) so theyre forced to give feedback and try to find flaws. at the end of the day you cant control how they act but can definitely control how you react.

Would love to hear your tips on collecting designer / high quality pieces - how you budget, pick, find deals while juggling with other expenses!
Oh yes! Def accent pieces and core pieces (like lamps and couches and coffee tables)
For anything that doesn’t get much foot traffic, we don’t need a nice designer one - just a functional one or a dupe!
Deals are hard - I think it depends on patience. A lot of items I bought on deals, but they’re still pretty expensive compared to buying something at target or Walmart. My thing is that it’s a whole investment into my interior design journey so I’ll need to experience the piece!

That staircase scares me so much, and now I am thinking about moving all that stuff down. You go girl! You moved a lot, congrats on being so resilient and going through all these shifts - it paid off and it will keep paying off!
It scared me so much at first too! But now I’m just used to it 😂😂
And yes I did move a lot 🥲🥲 it was a very turbulent time in my 20s, but def gave me a lot of perspective for where I’m at today!

i get sweapants from a lot of places - been trying out different ones! i don't think there's a brand i super love though. i got it from uniqlo or little puffy. they're kind of tight on the waist, so i actually dont like wearing it to sleep.

@@chloeshih very varied depending on industry (I guess same in most countries) but median in 2022 was just $4.5k :') hence locals typically don't rent (and stay with parents) unless they really have to

You're so real for the clothes basket- I use a chair for the same purpose but a basket seems much more organized. 😭
i used to use a chair and a table haha. i have a pretty bad habit of it, but trying to be more organized!
Oh man, search up ‘over the door hook’ . It’s so convenient to see all the clothes at once and v accessible. It just hangs off the top of the door, so it’s renter friendly, doesn’t leave marks, no drilling n easily moveable to another location
The only thing is that it can be a bit cluttered if there’s a lot of the back of the door (so it may interfere with how far you can close the door LOL). Also the aesthetic may not be for everyone idk.
When I was younger, we drilled in wall hooks into the door, but ofc I don’t think that’s renter friendly.
You need to decluter a lot there. Looks so messy and you furniture and decor it’s so pretty

but yeah $4200 is actually really great for this space. plus there's 2 parking spots in a structured lot below the apartment. the utilities are all pretty great!
