Thanks so much for this video- It's really helpful and the quality of your videos is amazing! Really interested in the first mic but less keen to have something in shot- is it just too quiet if you put it a bit further down/higher up with a boom arm? Or does it make the sound quality worse? Thanks!
A mic like the Rode Podmic is a dynamic microphone. It's made to be close to your mouth. If you have it further away it will sound terrible lol. If you really want to have a mic outside of the shot on a boom arm. The Deity S Mic 2 is great. But you can also buy some cheaper options that people often put on top of the camera. Like the Rode Video Mic GO II if you want something less expensive or the Rode NTG. If you go with either of those you will have to find a way to boom it and probably buy an extra long chord to run it to your camera. But it's doable and works well. Mics like that, you want to be as close to your chest/mouth but out of the frame.
Which Mic works best for your channel?
