Hi! I find your project very interesting, in the charger I see it all depends on ic 7815, I find I can replace it with lm2596s which will increase the charging capacity to 2a = battery 20ah.
This circuit is good but there need to some changes some issue regarding charging if you calibrate for 14.5 volt cut off then the achual out put of charger is not 14.5 volt there is a voltage drop. So the best thing you can do is to connect battery positive output directly to r6 resistor rather than connect it to main supplay this backup will give accuracy. Relay supplay can be connected to main supplay keep a jumper in between battery and out put of relay supplay. Set the variable supplay insted of battery select the cut off point. Then remove it put back the jumper and connect the battery. Diode d4 is in wrong postion it cut off the ground. Battery and charger always must have common ground.
if i want to charge 12volt 3 amps battery then how many powered transformer will be used?i means amps....i will give 15 volts but confussion about the amps....and plz tell me what is the formlua by which i can choose trnasformer for a specified battery ?plz brother....thank u

Hi, can you explain why you are monitoring the output of the LM7815 and not directly the terminals of the battery? If as you have your circuit and how it functions you are overloading the LM7815, the LM7815 is a constant voltage regulator. It must be getting very warm if your zener circuit is monitoring less than 15V on its output while the battery is loading the circuit and you have 18Vdc on the input. If while charging you are measuring less than 15V between CB+ and CB-, then you are overloading the LM7815. What is the LM7815 in the circuit for?

This is not a battery charging circuit. It's just a battery connected to a power supply! As far as I can see you have no monitoring of the battery at all. Unless the circuit diagram is wrong?

With an AC Signal there must be coupling capacitors at both input and output of the 7815.
