This video will give you some tips what can we do in case of parking sensor not working. I will show you how to remove, check and install parking sensor in car. I drew a diagram of Jaguar X-type parking sensors wiring, so that you could easily understand, how did I fix the reverse sensors issue on my car.
Parking control speaker is located under the rear windscreen. It shouldn't beep when you are putting the gearbox in reverse, if the parking control system is in working order. On the contrary, if you hear a long beep when putting reverse, it means that you shouldn't rely on a parking assistant, it is not working.
The numbers of Jaguar X-type 2002-2005 reverse sensors are:
    1x4315K859AB - rear outer senor
    1x4315K859BA - rear center senor
Outer and center sensors can be swapped in case of temporarily necessity.
Above mentioned sensors may refuse to work with 2005 and later X-types.
As for the 2005 and later models, I don't know the numbers of their reverse sensors.
The tools needed for removing and installing the parking sensors of Jaguar X-type was an 10 mm socket, a 10 mm wrench, pliers and a screw-driver.

Cheers for this video, it’s a massive help. Getting a good camera angle of the bolts and clips as you undid them must’ve been difficult!

Yes, I had to get under the car, luckily enough its back end is as high as some of today's SUVs.

Nice job nice car, I am now doing transfer case, bearings change and dog bone upgrade to be more tighten. Discovered that whole engine is moving/rotating too much when I am starting and then changing to 2nd gear,

Thank you so much for your kind words. My Jag is 2wd manual, that's why I am free from many 4wd issues. As for the dog bone, I thought about changing it when I bought this car, but it is in normal condition, OEM. As far as I see aftermarket parts are of worse quality, so the OEM dog bone is still working for already 7-8 years in my hands. There is less tension on it in 2wd case. Good luck to you and your car!

Hey! I just got a 2006 2.1 V6 X-Type, but with no parking sensors from factory. However, i do have a second bumper that has parking sensors built-in. Do you think it's possible to retrofit them onto the car, or is it really complicated? I don't want to swap the whole bumper since they have different colours, but i saw in your video that you can just take the black plastic part off with the sensors.
    Also, nice and detailed content!

You don't need to swap the whole bumper, only the black part, for sure. But you have to connect the sensors to the parking control unit in the trunk/boot near the spare wheel. A good electrician will implement the retrofit. Good luck!

I agree with you, the diagram is very complicated, nevertheless I did my best to explain my idea to viewers.
