I remember beating the NES version and it was hard and you had limited continues. This was an awesome arcade game and NES version was pretty good port. Always wanted a true arcade version on a portable and we finally got it on the Namco Pack for The Nintendo SWITCH with Rolling Thunder 2. Nice play through. I never knew you could go back and refill the Machine Gun on level one. Wish I had known that, but now I know. :D Nice playthrough.
Gosh I remember playing this at the video rental shop when I was 23 area 4 that damn lava and the jumping fire man 😠 couldn't even pass that level But it was fun though 😉😎👍
I wonder if the woman you rescued, is the same woman in Rolling Thunder 2? Through her ordeal in the first RT, She got some training and became a badass in RT2, maybe? Possibbly?

コツコツ練習して、やっと1コインクリア出来る様になった
数少ないゲームでした。
敵と障害物の高低差を考えながら、「ここで2発撃ってから飛び降りる」とか「ここで待って、敵を貯めてから一気に足元を撃って一掃！」等
「覚えゲー」だった記憶が有ります。
当時にしては自キャラも敵もヌルヌル動くので「ローリング」なのかな？
等と考えてましたｗ
懐かしい😂コンティニューでお金使いまくって、エンディングこれだけかって思った記憶がよみがえりました。ありがとうございます。

You can only do that after you scrolled the screen far enough ahead. Likely due to a programming error

She was a secret agent even in the first game, she just got kidnapped is all. She gets a measure of revenge by being playable in the second game.
