Good review, and thank you for avidly supporting the propmakers who poured their time, money, energy, and love into their craft! I bought LSP's old version via Rubbertoe Replicas when it first became available. This has always been one of my favorite props, on the show and I spent very many hours and days of my own starting years ago, trying to make a screen accurate version, so I immediately ordered it when I saw it on the website back then. (The specific wallet I got seemed to have a few inaccurate issues, but it's still the closest I've ever seen / had to screen accuracy.)
0:33 I think you meant Peter Capaldi (Twelfth Doctor) as he was the one who used the Paul Smith wallet for a short time until he switched back to the original style wallet
2:53 I remember seeing your old review of another psychic paper-inspired recreation where it referenced the original prop as a "passport wallet" and it always bothered me, so I'm glad the screen-used prop's origins are being made known to more people

I have actually had this since before they started selling through Rubbertoe, I just wasn't really active on this channel... so now I'm going back and reviewing stuff I should have done long ago.
And, yeah, I did mean Capaldi, I just mis-remembered when that change happened. I was literally thinking it was during Smith, probably because there were so many other changes at that time.
The old review was a written one of a Psychic Paper from DarthMule on the RPF... and it's still quite a lovely piece and great for what we knew at the time, but this one frankly blows it out of the water, in essentially every conceivable metric.
Thanks for watching, I have more Doctor Who stuff coming up soon, but I'm trying to avoid making it a Doctor Who channel, so I'm trying to spread them out a bit. The last thing I want is anyone making a VoteSaxon comparison 0_0

I do not see why would I buy it, instead of just making it myself. Cutting old driving licence holder is not complicated.
I have seen this prop's price, it is very expensive for what it is! Completely not worth it.

I suppose that's on me for not mentioning: The actual Driving License holder is IMPOSSIBLE to find. If you could get your hands on one... yeah, it'd be a real easy conversion.
But I've been trying to find one for over 10 years to no avail. In fact, I literally can't even find a PHOTO of one on the internet. Literally the only photos I can find are the ones in the video... and those were taken by James at Little Shop Props of the one they were able to source.
So, given their rarity, if you DID find one, it would likely cost FAR more than this replica.
Could you grab some relatively close wallet and make a rough approximation of the prop? Absolutely. But if you want a PERFECT replica, this is the option you've got. There is no other.
But I always encourage people to make their own props! Take a swing at it, I'd love to see what you come up with! And thanks for watching!

@@richardsmith3079I’m sure you get nerdy about things that I don’t see the appeal of. We all find bits of joy in different places, and it’s totally okay that you don’t dig what I dig.
Anyway, thanks for watching! Hope you have a great weekend.
