Ah Santa Monica, a pleasant game about the place in the world I visited the least pleasant public bathrooms at ever. Not quite enough going on with this one for me to absolutely adore it, and a little busy in places for me to recommend it highly as a foundation game. It's ok.

I feel this is a very underrated game. Especially for a game that I can play with non-gamer family members, this gives me a nice option beyond Ticket to Ride, Colt Express, King of Tokyo type options. And I don't mind all of the different scoring options - it is just at the level where it doesn't give me AP but also leaves some suspense as to who will pull out the victory in the end. This is a modern gateway game. Great theme too btw, especially for non-gamer family members.
I think i was luke warm on it because I think Streets does a similar idea and is more affordable and slightly simpler even. If you haven't checked out Streets its a good time.
we love this game for when we want a relaxing point puzzle - also the ‘Long Weekend’ expansion is really fun!
This game reminds me a bit of Kanagawa in a good way! Love the comic artwork and great video as usual!
Aye, looks a little heavier (perfect knowledge on draws and no way to bury bad cards). Not quite as pretty though!
Very nice overview Correction (these two are difficult to remember) 2:25 The Foodie allows you to move one person one space. The Food Truck gains one sand Dollar. Remember it as the Foodie is a person that moves one location card themselves. and also "reset them after words" means the Foodie & Truck combo the Foodie stays and the Truck moves two spaces forward (or wraps around back the the left from the right)

It's a nice light(ish) game, but not one that I feel compelled to play more than a couple of times.

Ah no I was just saying I think in many ways Santa Monica is more complicated than suburbia. Because it’s not really a straight line.
This is a unique looking game. Almost g6ossed past it. But glad I didn't. Love the details on the meeples (or is it beaples? Beach meeples) 👍🌴🏖
