I must love painting to be watching painting videos at 6 AM before work painting😅 Been at it 24y this year. I subscribed... After watching a few of your videos. You seem to have the obsession also😂😊 Have a great day✌🏻
I am a 71 yr DYI lady. I want to paint my laminate oak cabinets a bright white in my dark kitchen. After viewing so many videos, and already waisting money on Behr Cabinet paint, Satin finish, that ended up with gray tint. I`m frustrated. There are no small samples available. Please help!
Unfortunately other than the small paint chips you will have to purchase sample qts from your preferred vendor. Ben Moore has samples and I would use their Advance or Sherwin Williams has “color to go samples” and I would use their Pro Industrial waterbased urethane alkyd or Emerald Urethane Alkyd. Try and hit their 30% off sale or see if you can use another painters account for a huge discount because paying retail will be $$$
You can thin with water up to 10% on most coatings. it will lay down even better thinned slightly. I usually do not need to thin any waterbased urethane alkyd “hybrid” coatings. The trade off if you do thin is coverage.
It will look better if you caulk it after primer and before painting however depending on the construction of the cabinets and the temperature/ humidity of the area you live it the caulking can crack as it’s supposed to be a “floating panel” however I think it looks like shit un-caulked 😀 so always worth a conversation with your customer if you plan to caulk those areas. I live in Oregon and we always caulk them and never have any issues with the caulk cracking.
Love rolling cabinets😂 Got that mini roller down to a science... It's like the game of God placed the paint on✊🏼🤙🏼 Good roller to use is the"blue knit"microfiber from Sherwin. Comes in 7 inch also. Great for bigger surfaces... But you already know that. Roll to it sizzles baby 👌🏼
@@mallerpaintingcompany that blue knit microfiber from Sherwin-Williams prolly my favorite... I think common misconception is roller finish is too"stippley" but that's just cause folks don't "lay off" the paint enough. You gotta load up the surface and keep going over it till that roller is sizzling🤣👌🏼 Sounds like bacon frying. At that point if done correctly it'll be a nice smooth finish. Though tomorrow I'm spraying cabinets😆 Doing the whole place so lots of masking anyways so given them the deluxe job🤙🏼
Great video. Someone who does it informing others. I noticed no foam rollers? Why is that? Do tell. Also, for the super smooth finish (almost like spray painted) would you use a thinner (it floetral) on both coats, the first and the second? I’m a subscriber!
I tested every commercial mini roller I could find and the microfiber left the best finish. I mostly use waterbased products so thinning with water will definitely help flow but also sacrificing coverage
Advance brushes and rolls really nice.
Yes definitely one of the best Hybrid coatings on the market!
and yellows...

Benjamin Moore will make up small sample containers for you.

Your welcome! Thanks for watching 🤘😎🤘
I have four doors to paint and you out my mind at ease. I can do this. Did you add in any of the additives or dilute with water to yours?

Very informative
Thanks for watching 😊
Thanks!
Saw you jamming the paint into the cracks between panel and rest of door. Any thoughts on caulking that area?

Are you using a paint can to work on? I came here to see what other people use. I use a tabletop lazy Susan.
I am in this video just to keep edges off the paper. Lazy Susan is definitely the way to go
