This was one of Ravi’s favorite songs sung by one of his favorite musicians! Beautiful lyrics! Truly loved Ravi Zacharias and his teachings/ministry and humble, gentle Christ-like countenance. Ravi, you are sorely missed by tens of thousands worldwide or perhaps millions worldwide! ♥️🙏♥️
I've been listening to Michael since my conversion at 16 in 1996. Still one of my favourite gospel song writer singer as he sings scripture and contains pure theology. Love from Nagaland
It was His final word as we walked beside the sea "You will be led where you don't want to go, " I knew that He would test my faith and all that I believed But just how far then I would never know And He would send a vision then, once more beside the sea To a rooftop where my ecstasy was seen To ask what was unaskable, three times the vision came And demanded I embrace what was unclean You know I'm not supposed to be here To cross the line no one has crossed before To simply be one of the fools That you've called to break the rules And to go someplace I'm not supposed to be My stumbling faith responded to what my mind said wasn't right So I left that place and followed in a dream To find unfamiliar strangers who were hungry for the Light Then I realized that no one is unclean But I was born to be a winner And not to serve some fallen conquered king Who took up the cross and bled When He broke Himself for bread In a place that He was not supposed to be You know I'm not supposed to be here To cross the line no one has crossed before To simply be one of the fools That you've called to break the rules And to go someplace I'm not supposed to be
Dear Michael Card, I'm touched by this as I'm someone living in my comfort zone...unable to take the leap.......however small it is.....this song has really strengthened my inner core.......thanks...really...
I’m not supposed to be here Are we living in a dream? Are we living in a dream? It’s like we in a movie scene Life is nothing but a meme If nothings’ what it seems Then why they give us hope? Then why they give us dreams?
I don't understand this part: "But I was born to be a winner And not to serve some fallen conquered king Who took up the cross and bled When He broke Himself for bread In a place that He was not supposed to be "
I think the first line is referring to peter leaving everything to follow jesus, for which he had to pay huge costs, and was considered a 'loser' by the world. He could have been a 'winner' by the standards of the world. But he decided to serve jesus, who was also considered a 'loser' when he was in the earth, the "fallen conquered king who took up the cross and bled.." The lines "in a place that He was not supposed to be" are my favorite. It tells of jesus, the prince of heaven, who left all the glory and comforts of heaven and came to this wretched place to save us.
@@peggyprose Yes, He was supposed to be here. It has been God’s will from before the beginning of the universe. It is straightforward for those who have received the wisdom of God to recognize that. But the wisdom of the world would call Peter a fool and a loser for following Jesus, and it would call Jesus a loser too, because He bled and died. It is foolishness for the world to think that God would come to earth and die as Jesus did (1 Corinthians 1:18-25). And I think Michael Card is contrasting these two - the wisdom of the world and the wisdom of God. His other songs like ‘Scandalon’ and ‘God's own fool’ also have this similar theme.
Ravi Zacharias brought me here ✝️✝️✝️
Me too!
Me too. At the time he put a condition when he had to be at Mormon tabernacle.
me too
Me too
Me too.
Thanks a lot to Ravi Zacharias for introducing me to this great singer.
I'm in love with Micahel Card's songs... #ThankYouRavi :)

You know I'm not supposed to be here
To cross the line no one has crossed before
To simply be one of the fools
That you've called to break the rules
And to go someplace I'm not supposed to be
My stumbling faith responded to what my mind said wasn't right
So I left that place and followed in a dream
To find unfamiliar strangers who were hungry for the Light
Then I realized that no one is unclean
But I was born to be a winner
And not to serve some fallen conquered king
Who took up the cross and bled
When He broke Himself for bread
In a place that He was not supposed to be
You know I'm not supposed to be here
To cross the line no one has crossed before
To simply be one of the fools
That you've called to break the rules
And to go someplace I'm not supposed to be
Thank you for the words
Great poetry and nice tune!

This is the embodiment of clear art, a labor of love, a vintage Michael Card doing what he loves the most. Singing for God.
Every Evangelist Must Maintain This Attitude!
Glory be to our Saviour, Hallelujah!
I love the Belief in his rapturous voice. It evokes so deep devotional feelings that I shed tears when I hear it.
This story about Peter from Acts 10 is the hope of the Gentiles.

@@mariajina But he WAS supposed to be here! That phrase makes no sense to me.
