- Icefields Parkway
Day 1 we left our hotel in Calgary and made our way up to the Icefields Parkway. We entered Banff National Park and immediately saw a bear and then a gorgeous lake. We stopped and had sandwiches before hopping back on the parkway. Little did we know it was just a small taste of the beginning of a truly incredible drive. Bow Lake still had large chunks of ice floating in it. We stopped at the lodge to get more beautiful views. We made the short hike up to Peyto Lake. There was still quite a bit of snow on the side of the trail. The turquoise water shaped like a wolf was breathtaking. We took the short walks to Sunwapta Falls and Athabasca Falls--both strong and beautiful. At this point, we skipped over Mistaya Canyon to get to our chalet. It was a magical day filled with beautiful views in all directions. We could have stopped at every pull off and hike.

I enjoy watching video of people traveling the IceFields Parkway just to watch their reaction. Stopped at Bow Lake once when a guy had his whole set of drums set up. He was pounding out “Something in the air tonight” and the acoustics were incredible. The water is very low this time of year. Happy Trails. 👍

In which month were you there? The weather is very nice
@@ilhamiturgut9349 we were there not too long ago, we were there in mid June. It was absolutely beautiful. The weather was perfect.
