  • Hi everyone!
    Today's video is a crochet book cover. I’ve seen a lot of these popping up on TikTok and I figured I would hop on the train. You’ll need 6 granny squares. You can use as many colors as you would like. I used 5. You’ll also need a 5.5mm hook and a button
    For this project, you should be able to do the following stitches: chain, slip stitch, half double crochet, double crochet, and a magic ring. You could also choose to do the chainless double crochet mentioned in the video as opposed to a chain 2, but this isn’t necessary. Here is a more in-depth tutorial for that:

    I don't know if it's complicated just for me but I took a lot of time to do it 😃 and I'm trying hard yet
    change my words, I got the best result, a result I didn't expect at the beginning, I thought it would be difficult, but it's easier than what I expected, you're amazing 💕

    I made it for my books, and it was really good! I kinda messed up on the buttons, and this was my very first time doing granny squares, but this came out very good! I give it 1000000000000/10

    I tried to make one, but I guess my tension when holding my yarn is too tight so it ended up being too small even for a paper cover. So I ended up improvising and adding 2 more granny squares and adding a couple more double crochets on the sides. Overall this tutorial was very helpful and easy to follow but I got confused on how to add the loop part.

    Great tutorial! Can I ask approximately what's the measurement for one granny square crochet? I've made something similar before but ended up not being able to fit my book in it :(

    • @mibbles2371
      @mibbles2371 Год назад +1

      It depends how big you make it Ig! And your yarn size etc. Ik that's not very helpful but if ur book doesn't fit then you can add to your granny square and make it bigger by adding another set of edges

    Я зробила цю обкладинку !!! Мені сподобалось , це не дуже складно, тому що вся основна праця це бабусині квадрати . Залишається лише зв'язати їх разом , та обробити край. Я не дуже вдивлялась в туторіал, бо сама спочатку зрозуміла схему. Та вийшла дуже універсальна обкладинка ,її можна використовувати як косметичку або сумочку . Дуже рада що зробила це!!

    Love this! I'm going to make the sunflower one from your other video.... how do you make the loops for the buttons? I'm guessing just a chain but not sure how to incorporate that into this pattern! Thanks :)

    • @jadecordial
      @jadecordial  2 года назад +2

      I sort of touched on that in the tutorial but yes it’s just chains. After you join the squares together into a block, you go around with half double crochet. At a certain point (wherever u want the loop for the button) you’ll place a half double crochet then chain as much as you need and then half double into the next stitch. That’ll make a loop!

    • @jadecordial
      @jadecordial  4 месяца назад +1

      You can use any type of granny square you want! Just make one using any tutorial and then measure to see how many you'll need to join to make an appropriate size rectangle to fit your book. If it seems like it's too big/ small of a square you can try to use a smaller or larger hook! It's the same process though basically

      2 more! The chain 2 counts as the first double crochet

    • @jadecordial
      @jadecordial  5 месяцев назад

      I sewed it with a needle and thread, and I think they are from amazon. But I honestly don't like it that much because it's a strong magnet and it's hard to separate the flap unless you grab both magnets

    How many grams of yarn it takes

    • @jadecordial
      @jadecordial  Месяц назад

      I’m not exactly sure but you’ll need the most for the outside main color! you could probably find a website with information on how many grams of yarn a granny square takes for each row!
