Dear Bony and Clive, indeed, I sometimes think about people who in 200 years will find all our albums, junk journals, ephemera. What conclusions they will come to? Books had pockets?? 😄😄
Ahhh! Love love LOVE! My darling, I’m a Biologist. ZOOLOGIST to be exact. I spent years collecting and making REAL slides. Everything from the pupa of an insect in microbiology to tissue samples. I HAVE to say, your creative take on these are simply LOVELY! Brilliant! FUN! Even though I have collections of the real deal.... I WILL BE COPYING YOUR IDEA! It’s much MUCH more appealing! SOOO innovative!! Thank you for sharing!!!!
Dear Natalie, I am sooooo happy that with this creation I have not upset the real zoologists and the collectors of the real thing! 😃 And I am intrigued, my nose is tingling in anticipation, I would love to see a real scientist's take on these!
Oh, indeed, Deb, that is a great idea, something like this would really suit a steampunk theme! I am looking forward to seeing your version on your channel!
Stunning. imaginative. Creative. And nicely shared. I would have liked to have seen how you adhered the first set of acetate to the tag. But just incredible. Cheers Dave M California
Dear Dave, thank you for such a generous comment! As to the acetate: I promise to make a video where I show in more detail how I glue the multiple layers of it!
You are very creative! Could you please make something for the Dark Academia Aesthetic? I am curous to see what you come up with! -Your new subscriber from Hawaii 🌺🥥🌴🌞🏄♀️🏖🌊
Yes, these are absolutely gorgeous! You have a great Eye for design! Thank you for sharing! 🙂🙋♀️ I have lots of flowers I put in the flower press with one of our granddaughters so that's what I'd put inside! May I ask where you purchased those perfect slide containers and the die-cuts you used? Thanks so much!🙂
Thank you Kathleen, I am glad you liked these! Indeed, pressed flowers is a great idea! Being a real object and something you did together with a grandchild would add another dimention and elevate these slides! I bought the coin holders on Aliexpress, you can also get them on Amazon or highstreet if you happen to have a stamp or coin collectors' shop near you. I used only one die cut, the circle around the holder. I have a set of generic circle dies, from smaller to larger circle. They are called nesting dies, almost every crafting company have their version where you get the same shape, just different sizes, and they are great working supply to have! For everything else I used stamps. Good luck with your creations!
@@thinkiemets Indeed, I forgot about the tag itself! It is Nicole Silhouette's tag die, and yes, she designs for Beki Store too. So we might have the same die, it has a very good size and shape!
@@BigFatMixedMediaTribe You're so very welcome and thanks for all the great info! I'LL check Amazon. My son and daughter-in-law gave me a $50 gift card for my birthday back in December and I haven't used it yet. I keep changing my mind! 😄 I really need a new women's study Bible although I'm sure I'll have money for the slides! I've never tried Aliexpress! Thanks again! I thoroughly enjoy your work!
Thank you for the comment, Diane! Did you mean the coin holders? You can get them on Amazon, Aliexpress (or Wish) and specialty shops for stamp and coin colectors, both on highstreet and internet stores, and I have seen some on E-bay too. Just search for "coin holders" or "coin capsules".
Thank you, I am glad you liked these! Indded, this shape is perfect for the scientific slide immitation! :-) The tag is by Dutch designer @NicoleSilhouette, she designs for several Aliexpress stores, and this tag die is from Beki Store here: www.aliexpress.com/item/4000995563514.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.27424c4dxdGcWs I hope this helps!
@@BigFatMixedMediaTribe Thank you so much!! To be honest: I would have never bought this die cut if I had seen it on Ali Express! But seeing your slides at the end makes this die cut interesting for me! Not only for slides but for tags as well. I like the shape and the proportion. So again: Thank you very much! 🧡
Dear Jennifer, it is a good question! I love label stamps, but vintage looking ones are rare to come across. Usually there is one label in a set of stamps of something else. Try searching for post stamp sets, small text stamp sets. I have just one stamp set specifically dedicated to labels and it came from R.Atelier in their monthly vintage ephemera subscription box. You can also find good quality wood mounted individual label stamps on their website (they deliver world wide). I hope this helps!
I really love these. They look so nice and as if they were found in an old laboratory 😊💚🕷🐜
