I had never heard of setting stitches so when everyone said to do it I did for awhile but like you I couldn’t tell a difference so now it’s off and on when I do it😄

Is there additional black strips added to the top and bottom of the bear paw section of the quilt? On the quilt on the wall it looks like the points of the bear paw are further from the edge of the section especially when you add the section above and below with a 1/4" seam. Thanks. You could sew another row and cut in between the 2 rows and then you have a small hst. If you do this often you have a whole slew of them to make a table runner or whatever.

I would make extra blocks. If it were me I would make extra bear paws and put rows of them between the trees and log cabins also. And also make more in each row. I havent checked the size yet, but for instance make it 4bear paws wide instead of 3. Or 10 trees instead of 7. Sorry I would need to know the original size and what size you need to be able to do the actual math. But hope that gives you some ideas.
I would add more rows or add another border. There’s several different ways to add length. My son is 6’5” and my dad’s 6’7” so I have to add length too.

I only set my seams if the seam isn't laying flat-like if the fabric is just a touch gathered and not laying flat.

Love this pattern!! I have a strange question...your pressor foot...is it a genuine Baby Lock 1/4" foot?
That is the default straight stitch flex reaction presser foot that came with the Baby Lock Accomplish. Hope this helps!
