You are so right about the quilt ruler! Hard as I try I get wonky somewhere 😂 And when you see all the shapes and sizes they come in......I went and grabbed all my mamas quilt books,magazines, fabric, etc. Actually she is 94 and happily gave it to me. She's wanted me to learn for years. I wish I had listened and started years ago. I'm in the process of putting my grandmas hand embroidered squares of the state flowers together. We know they are between 75-100 years because there are only 48 blocks. She did birds too. I have all her quilts. She died in 1989 at 99 years old, sharp as a tack. I miss her so! Hi Widgets Mom. My mother and great grandmother embroidered quilt blocks of flowers and birds. The stitched all the blocks together with sashing. I never new my great grandmother. She passed away before I was born. My mother gave me the quilt top, and I finished it for her. I still have the quilt. Thanks for watching, and happy sewing.

Your tutorial came out just in time for me. My husband wants a quilt specifically for our couch - the length of the couch, yet wide enough to cover him. He is a hunter and this block will work perfectly! Now to just find him the color fabrics he likes - thank you!
Great video, thank you for posting. I don't mind a tiny bit of wasted fabric to get perfect blocks. I've sewed it other ways and the blocks sometimes come out uneven.
