I love this quilt. I will be making one for myself, one for each of my daughters and one for our Sunday School Christmas party gift exchange. Thank you for sharing and your helper is adorable.
you could also outline some of items on the panel such as the snowman or the packages in the snow for another effect. will also be attempting to make this too. thanks Cheryl and Manny:)
I love all the projects you do. You make it so easy with instructions. I have made placemats, a couple of quilts, table runners, and a toaster cover so far. Looking forward to making many more of your projects!! Thanks so much.
I’m making a Santa panel following your directions basically.,…just wondered what color thread you used for quilting? I have a lot of red and white for Santa’s beard, etc. so confused on what color to use…thank you…love your videos ❤
Hi Jan 4. You can use any color you choose. I usually use the same color throughout the quilt. Sometimes I will use a very bright color when I want the stitch pattern to show up a lot. Other times I will use a very neutral color. If you don't want you stitch pattern to show, then select a very neutral/light color. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching, and happy sewing. 😍
I love this one & am going to learn to do it but on a smaller scale for starters. According to comments past & present we know who the real star of your vids are! haha. Manny is awesome! Tfs :D
Am I correct that 1/4 yard of binding fabric is not enough if you are adding a 2" border to the fabric panel? Fabric panel is 44" before border. Binding fabric is also 44" from salvage to salvage.
Hi Laura. Make sure you play the video forward until it stops playing. The last 20 seconds of the video has a green screen with 4 links to various videos. Thanks for watching and happy sewing
My question is going to tell you just how much I don't know about sewing. You say to cut the strips at 2 1/2" wide but how long are they supposed to be....is the required 1/3 fabric as long as the panel? Thank you.
Hi Kathy. Good question. I should have explained it better. Most quilt fabric is 42" to 44" wide from selvage edge to selvage edge. When you purchase quilt fabric it is folded in half with the selvage edges together. You leave it folded and cut from the fold line out to the selvage edges. Here is a link to a video that demonstrates how to cut strips. ruclips.net/video/2jYALMDRsqE/видео.html In this video the strips are being cut 3 1/2" wide. But you will cut yours 2 1/2" wide. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching, and happy sewing.
