When he mentioned germ x being all over the band hall it reminded me of one day when I was leaving band and as we walked out our band director was squirting germ x at us he squirted it 3 times before it actually got in my hands and it almost hit me in the face lol our band and color guard classes are still super fun even with covid
dude your school starts so late compared, I'm only in middle school still and my classes start an hour before yours, and of course the high school starts even earlier. Also, this is so cool to see and interesting to see what a Texas high school did/does during covid times!
Good afternoon. Just to give a brief introduction of myself. I'm a retired high school band director. I've enjoyed retirement, but after a year or two, I'm planning on returning to the classroom. I worked in a small school district that did not place any emphasis on participating in marching and concert band state contest festivals. For some time now, I've been researching materials that can be helpful to prepare my students forcthe tasks ahead. There are different areas of emphasis that state adjudicators use to judge different ensembles. There are terms such as: Tone quality, intonation, balance and blend, technique, interpretation, articulation, etc. I hope this is not a silly question, but do you know of any bookbthat's on the market that explains all these concepts in plain detail. Thanks for all your help. Oh, there are other terms: Precision, uniformity, spatial control, and awareness, entertainment value, coordination of elements, etc. Thanks and God bless. Oh, YOU GUYS ROCK AS TEACHERS. AND YOUR BAND SOUNDS GREAT. VERY INSPIRING!!!
Would love it if we saw more percussion stuff. Or if the percussion director had the camera for a day for us percussion teachers. This is awesome stuff!

Yes sir this storm is probably going to change our date for the solo and ensemble contest as a middle school just keep keeping in mind that I am a 7th grade band Percussionist so I don’t know because we don’t have school until Friday the earliest or Monday
