    This is how the choir music at church was organized. The numbers made it easy for rehearsals too:
    "Ok, next pull out 584, O GOD BEYOND ALL PRAISING, five, eight, four."
    I would HIGHLY recommend this for any large music library for schools, churches, etc.
    For individuals, alphabet works best.

    I identify myself with this way to organize the band stuff. Great tips!

      I love talking about organization! Most band halls are not organized, and it isn't that difficult to do!

    Did you already have the shelves, purchased, or custom built? They look to be the perfect size for the boxes!

    This is awesome! Well done. What are those boxes you keep the actual scores/sheets in? You mentioned that manilla folder crumple ect, which I agree with!

      I've located them.. But what size are you using for things like concert band books/charts?

      Sorry for the late response! I usually wouldn’t put books in boxes. I’d just give each edition of a book its own shelf.

    I have undertaken the honor of organizing 30 years of untouched music for the Lake Country Symphonic Band in Mineola, TX. With no budget and pieces in manilla envelopes, I am working with what I have. I am trading out file cabinets that will not fit the envelopes for lateral files that allow everything to be neatly out of sight. Before, we had 17 plastic tubs. Multiple cardboard boxes. And a few miscellaneous stacks. I am trying to use Excell Spreadsheet for my database, but it is short on search options. I have organized as to genre with each category getting up to 200 storage spaces.
    HELP! Kathy

    What is your shelving system? I have the slide outs and am not a fan.

    How does the number system work? Is it numbered as the piece comes in? What do you with tunes that are already in the library when you start the numbering process?

    • @thefuturemillionairebanddi4528
      @thefuturemillionairebanddi4528  2 года назад +1

      Sorry for the delay! Yes, every piece receives a number as soon as we get it. For example, I just added some Grade 1's and 2's right next to the marching band tunes that we purchases. The number is inconsequential. I started the entirely library from scratch. After putting each piece in score order, I just grabbed a piece at random and made it #1 and the next at random was #2 and so on.

    What are you putting your physical music in? An empty box?

    • @thefuturemillionairebanddi4528
      @thefuturemillionairebanddi4528  2 года назад +1

      They are boxes specifically for holding music. You can search something “music library box” on JW Pepper. They come in several sizes!
