Bruh it's funny cause someone on Twitter said "Joker is now revealed to be a trans and is pregnant" the thing is its the people that don't read the comics are the ones that say it's "woke" I also actually had a good chuckle at the book
I feel sad cuz people who don't read comics and Manga readers (dumb ones, not everyone) say this because nobody checks a source and say "Downfall of comics"

The funny part is that in the posts where people talk about being outraged, whenever people in the comments try to give context to the panel, everyone else just ignores it. It's another case of people wanting to get offended without knowing the context. It's another Batman is now Bisexual situation...

It’s just the fact that of course the more popular Spider-Man, Batman, Superman related characters will get actual national attention. It doesn’t always feel that way since most comic related stuff is just the movies.

What people should be mad about is the return of the Superman secret identity thing letting specific characters keep the connection. You're either all in or not writers common. Could have been an great arc with Superman not being completely trusted by the league anymore because they don't know he's Clark, revisit that dynamic New52 Batman had with Classic Superman that was teased but didn't go anywhere because of the fusion, and the dynamic with the family. Exploring what it's like since they still love Clark but can't connect the dots that he's Superman. But no~! coincidentally everyone Superman really cares about and the league just happened to have a psychic block that is Manchester Black dialed to 500% proof.
I read the comic also, people really did take this out of context. Social media is always weird these days

Sort of what I figured, even before watching this video I had kind of assumed this was just a dumb thing from a not very good writer, but negativity leads to engagement and I guarantee most of the people who got up in arms about this don’t even read comics to begin with. If you want to make the argument that DC needs some shaking up I would agree but this is probably far from the stupidest thing they’ve done that warrants all the backlash

I mean in 2023 you can see why people would think it is a political statement right? DC have led the charge on making politcal statements in their comic books recently this isn't out of the realm of possibility even if it wasn't intended that way.
If you read the comic there's no way to interpret it that way but that's the problem. 99% of people reacting didn't read the comic.
@@TheRealComicBookGamer Sure, but that's the entirety of media currently right? That's like people seeing panels of superman kissing another man and assuming they made superman gay. Then the comic comes out and it turns out Louis Lane was actually hit with some radiation and turned into a man then you saying "well why did people assume they made superman gay, they didn't read the comic".

I don't think people overreacted it's a story that shouldn't have happened at all it is a dumb story yet but it shouldn't have happened people reacted how they should reacted because you want people to read comic books not be turned off so doing dumb stuff like this and saying that all people just overreacted is carnival reach because people don't want to see this in comics they don't and if you're trying to convince people to get back into reading comic books or trying to tell him that comments Aren't Dead this story isn't going to help anyone. Nobody wants to see the Joker pregnant regardless nobody wants to see him getting checked to see when the baby's coming like it's weird you know this is the downfall of the comics because people are tired like if you want people to read comic books you don't make a story like this that's why people are going to anime and manga. Yeah it is a silly story and it's a silly story that shouldn't never got approved because right now you need people to want to read your comic books not be turned off by them.

I don't read american comic books and I was exposed to this a few days ago by some random whiner youtubers. Point made, I probably could have been exposed to something worthwhile and good, instead now I know all about a pointless side story in a mediocre product. If there's anything activists want - it's attention. I can only imagine people gearing up to doing more stuff like this, but this time actually containing The Message.
You've done nothing to deter many people's annoyance at the undercutting of Joker's character. You may not have "taken the Joker seriously" but many do. What most people seem to be mad about is this whacko subversive nature of modern story telling. It shits all over legacy characters, takes nothing seriously and is purely "comedy" writing that isn't all that funny. But go ahead and tear down those strawmen buddy.

I hate when they do that kind of stuff old let's put a straw man argument into it like as if people are supposed to be okay with a silly story of a villain that they take serious and she has a serious threat the Batman being in this weird story where he's pregnant with the mud baby that Zatanna gave him yeah that's not really a good jumping on point for people who actually enjoy reading Joker or even enjoy the villain himself.
I don't care for the comic other than it's something I didn't want or need to see. Like seriously you have THE JOKER. Yet they choosed to make him "pregnant". I know he's not but the joke isn't that funny or clever.
