Three things I think this game needs to be successful. (Its already looking amazing btw, these are just my personal thoughts) 1. A level editor. Most people will likely get burned out pretty fast if there is not constant content being added. Let the community keep it alive! 2. Mod/Workshop support. Even something as simple as modding in a custom character, or outfits, would be great! 3. The ability to create your own line, then challenge your friends to beat your score/time. (Being able to see the ghost of their best time/score would be a huge plus.) I'm super happy that someone is finally making a good parkour/freerunning game, I wish you the best, and truly hope this becomes the best game it can be!
These are fantastic additions to this game. It would definitely take it to another level of replayability and keep people constantly coming back for more. Especially the level editor and the ghost trail giving people a reason to master different moves in the game in order to be faster.
Looks incredible! Great job so far, mate. Personal little movement wishlist, tho: 1. More vertical movement options, ways to get up and avoid the standard climb up animation. From straight up rock climbing to dynos to being able to do vertical wallruns anywhere and jumping out of them at any time. Essentially wall kicks or tic tacs. This would really open up a whole nother dimension of player expression and also provide a way to keep momentum while turning around. 2. The ability to hold the climb button mid-air and reach out with the left stick to grab any handholds, more like in Assassin's Creed 1-Revelations. Would allow for some very high risk, high reward leaps. This might interfere with the may striding currently works, so 3. Maybe simply make the striding part of the sprint. Sprinting of any ledge would initiate a stride, even if there isn't a beam there. This would also add a bit of depth through button disciple, having to let go of sprint right at a ledge to only drop down and not stride off. As right now, there is really no reason not to always hold down the sprint button. You might have to increase the standard walk speed though to make it more usable in parkour, tho. 4. Also if you ever do add a manual slide on even ground, that could be a stylish way to avoid the auto-stride off a ledge and could even be combined with the climb button to immediately transition to a cat hang. Keep up the good work! 🏃
some constructive feedback after playing for a bit: Jumping and climbing feels rather inconsistent. The climb up in general, but especially if you try to do it mid-air (being able to always climb up/wallruns vertically would definitely with this 😉). I feel the jump and climb buttons should be sacred. They should never perform moves that will easily lead you to bail, especially not as easily as double tapping jump. The regular jump as a whole does not feel too great. Chaining jumps is pretty unsatisfying, unless they're precision ones. Manually jumping onto a small obstacle to then jump higher is rather underwhelming and a bit jank. Maybe you could have it so that chaining regular jumps will increase the power each time, as if you were holding the button down? Think of Mario's tripple jump. Another thing that still feels lacking is the climbing and what you can do from and how you can get into a cat hang. Simply hanging from a ledge in front of you, turn vaults, cat to cat, etc.
Absolutely stellar. It feels like we've seen numerous studios with seasoned devs, huge budgets and plenty of time repeatedly miss the mark with parkour games. And here comes a solo dev, knocking it out of the park on his first go in just 9 months. From the streamlined yet rich mechanics to the clean and crunchy aesthetic to the wide accessibility options and even the personable presentation - it's all simply perfect.
I remember freeruning on ps2.... this is like the best moat version of that. I hope this is going to be the skate game for parkour. Something that will prove the concept. Gopd job it looks freaking awesome and im definitely going to get it
So many small considerations (FPS counter, different control inputs) show what a thoughtful development this is. I really feel tempted to wait for a more 'final' version of this game, but really wish you a good launch, the game is looking fantastic.

Maybe a fun progression idea. The pigeon mode is initially locked for each map and can be unlocked by climbing to the highest or most difficult to reach point in the map. So, you'd have to solve a climbing puzzle to unlock it. Seeing the popularity of games like Only Up I think this could bring broader interest to the game!
this seems like an easy cool extra step and also little climbing puzzles like tomdemey said mayb a place that is super hard to get through where you have to line up your jumps and be more precise
Just stumbled upon this and I can't believe this went under my radar for so long. I put a ton of hours into Mirror's Edge as a kid and always wanted another game to give me even more of that feeling, and this looks absolutely perfect. I had only heard of this game and my initial reaction was "oh, thats pretty cool. Sounds like fun." After seeing it in action, the smoothness, the creativity, the controls... this is absolutely something Im gonna have in my library when Im feeling burnt out on Skater XL and Session. I am completely stoked on this, looks so fun.
I used to install like 25 parkour mods for San Andreas to have some fun growing up lol. Finally the cool people from our generation started making games we all wanted :D
So far the game looks and plays super nice! The only thing that I'm missing (as a PC main) is to be able to customise your controls. Since the default layout is WASD, this is pretty "hard" for AZERTY keyboard users (as myself). Also it would be nice if you could just customise the keys to whatever you like. This would be HUGE for me! For the rest, I'm already waiting for new maps and so on! This game is very relaxing and addicting at the same time :D Keep up the good work!
Great showcase! I'm a game designer, and amateur parkour practicioner. So I'm hyped for the game. Some suggestions for future updates: - Create a level builder. Players can then build new levels for themselves, giving the game a lot more content for relatively little work on the dev end. Also really helps with community building, and it's just perfect for a game like this where you kind off choose your own challenges. - Add more environmental interactions. I want to fling around poles, jump through glass, bounce on tight canvas, slide across wet patches etc. And of course allow players to place those in their own levels. - The meter is a really smart addition that allows for a ton of design space. Perhaps you could have it do other things then just a speed boost as well. Like pressing it during a wallrun keeps your feet sticking to the wall. Or having it on changing some tricks into other more advanced tricks. - A game mode where you have to collect several "items" across the map in any order on a timer. It's like a time trial but allows for more choice, freedom of expression, and for people to come up with new routes. - A replay mode with camera controls, to make sick clips of the runs. Will also greatly help the reach of the game because people tend to share those after they've made them. Especially if you can work in a 'post to RUclips ' esque functionallity. - I think you did great with not scopecreeping the project, but it has to be said. This game would be hella fun with multiplayer. Imagine playing tag with a friend! Foregoing that, you could also choose to go with some AI security guards chasing you, or having to chase a crow that was mean to your pidgeon or something. - Obvious, but, more moves and tricks! Will increase the amount of options in the game exponentially. Especially wanting to see diverolls, catpasses, barswings, underbars, tick-tacks, balancing, pole slides. Great job on getting it to launch! I'm just excited by the potential in this game.

this is actually insane its ridiculous how much stuff hes integrated in that i was hoping would be added and its already in. customization the weather, the time of day the button layout for menus that arent automatically recognized by the software but manually selected. the animations are so so smooth, i love how accurate it is for slowing down and maintaining your footing. this is amazing everything looks so good great job. the only thing i could say you could add right now specifically is a move for gaining height in a wall climb, as in running up to a wall and pushing up with your feet once maybe twice and using your hands as much as you could to gain height to hopefully grab the ledge and pull you up. also maybe multiplayer eventually to trick with friends would be amazing, great work definitely buying your game excited to see whats next 🦔❄

really liking the game so far since its a great mix of challenging but super rewarding and satisfying when you get it down, the only feedback i have is sometime in the future a way for bar swinging of some sorts would be really awesome. as well i think interiors to small parts of each map would be cool, like running through a school hallway or vaulting over desks in the little office area on the steel yard. all in all keep up the great work on this masterpiece

Despite not having played the game myself, I've been enjoying seeing others play it. In the event that this game has online multiplayer capabilities, tag sounds like a lot of fun to play with friends and other gamers. I'm excited to see the final result.

I'd love to see a chase mode, kind of like those parkour vs security videos back in the day! Go into a restricted area, get chased by security or something and try to escape
It needs a stamina meter which you can build up. each trick needs to consume some stamina. This will encourage strategic gameplay with the tricks you perform depending on how much stamina you have. It could be fun. For example, After a series of 5 back flips, it impossible to do another high endurance trick all in one chain.
The control scheme feels quite intuitive. An elegant solution that looks so logical we have to wonder why it was not implemented before. Great job. Insta sub!
Currently outta town but adding this to my steam library and playing AS SOOON as I get home. Can't wait to see all the montages people create of this game cause it looks awesome. If the game is as cool as it was watching you play it, I imagine Ima be playing this for hundreds of hours. This game and the new Skate game are gonna have to compete for my attention. Some ideas that sprung to mind. monkey swings, quick turn, skids just sprang to mind, would be ace. The feeling of flow, freedom and creativity is A1, and super smooth animation is sublime :-)

I imagine you probably already have, being in the neiche of making a parkour game, but you should take a look at the dying light 2 map. Those devs seem to be at their core, map designers, and the way that games movement flows in that map is really unique. And good on you with making this game, its really quite a nice experience.
Im very happy theres a semi universal agreement that "skate" like controls eould eork best for a parkour game. Been playing it non stop since release and will continue to do so, cant wait to see how the games gonna evolve leading to the eventual full fledged release
Hear me out, SSX Tricky has a similar trick line meter where once you fill it up it gives you that speed boost but also remaps your trick buttons to do wilder movesets, something like that incorporated here would be amazing! LOVING IT KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

First impressions of the game are very good flips and tricking are very smooth and you can combine some cool flips with tricking.. Game have so much potential multiplayer with bunch of game modes like hide n seek would be awesome… gameplay at first is challenging but that makes it so cool. I’ve always dreamed for game like this! Great showcase! I'm a game designer, and amateur parkour practicioner. So I'm hyped for the game. Some suggestions for future updates:
- Create a level builder. Players can then build new levels for themselves, giving the game a lot more content for relatively little work on the dev end. Also really helps with community building, and it's just perfect for a game like this where you kind off choose your own challenges.
- Add more environmental interactions. I want to fling around poles, jump through glass, bounce on tight canvas, slide across wet patches etc. And of course allow players to place those in their own levels.
- The meter is a really smart addition that allows for a ton of design space. Perhaps you could have it do other things then just a speed boost as well. Like pressing it during a wallrun keeps your feet sticking to the wall. Or having it on changing some tricks into other more advanced tricks.
- A game mode where you have to collect several "items" across the map in any order on a timer. It's like a time trial but allows for more choice, freedom of expression, and for people to come up with new routes.
- A replay mode with camera controls, to make sick clips of the runs. Will also greatly help the reach of the game because people tend to share those after they've made them. Especially if you can work in a 'post to RUclips ' esque functionallity.
- I think you did great with not scopecreeping the project, but it has to be said. This game would be hella fun with multiplayer. Imagine playing tag with a friend! Foregoing that, you could also choose to go with some AI security guards chasing you, or having to chase a crow that was mean to your pidgeon or something.
- Obvious, but, more moves and tricks! Will increase the amount of options in the game exponentially. Especially wanting to see diverolls, catpasses, barswings, underbars, tick-tacks, balancing, pole slides.
Great job on getting it to launch! I'm just excited by the potential in this game.

this is actually insane its ridiculous how much stuff hes integrated in that i was hoping would be added and its already in. customization the weather, the time of day the button layout for menus that arent automatically recognized by the software but manually selected. the animations are so so smooth, i love how accurate it is for slowing down and maintaining your footing. this is amazing everything looks so good great job. the only thing i could say you could add right now specifically is a move for gaining height in a wall climb, as in running up to a wall and pushing up with your feet once maybe twice and using your hands as much as you could to gain height to hopefully grab the ledge and pull you up. also maybe multiplayer eventually to trick with friends would be amazing, great work definitely buying your game excited to see whats next 🦔❄

really liking the game so far since its a great mix of challenging but super rewarding and satisfying when you get it down, the only feedback i have is sometime in the future a way for bar swinging of some sorts would be really awesome. as well i think interiors to small parts of each map would be cool, like running through a school hallway or vaulting over desks in the little office area on the steel yard. all in all keep up the great work on this masterpiece

Despite not having played the game myself, I've been enjoying seeing others play it. In the event that this game has online multiplayer capabilities, tag sounds like a lot of fun to play with friends and other gamers. I'm excited to see the final result.

Go into a restricted area, get chased by security or something and try to escape
It needs a stamina meter which you can build up. each trick needs to consume some stamina. This will encourage strategic gameplay with the tricks you perform depending on how much stamina you have. It could be fun. For example, After a series of 5 back flips, it impossible to do another high endurance trick all in one chain.

Currently outta town but adding this to my steam library and playing AS SOOON as I get home. Can't wait to see all the montages people create of this game cause it looks awesome. Love your game. Its much more fun than most,, and will be a classic, no doubt. Looking forward to playing what you add, and exponentially build on. I'm excited for it's present and future. Some ideas that sprung to mind. monkey swings, quick turn, skids just sprang to mind, would be ace. The feeling of flow, freedom and creativity is A1, and super smooth animation is sublime :-)

I imagine you probably already have, being in the neiche of making a parkour game, but you should take a look at the dying light 2 map. Those devs seem to be at their core, map designers, and the way that games movement flows in that map is really unique. And good on you with making this game, its really quite a nice experience.
Im very happy theres a semi universal agreement that "skate" like controls eould eork best for a parkour game. Been playing it non stop since release and will continue to do so, cant wait to see how the games gonna evolve leading to the eventual full fledged release
Hear me out, SSX Tricky has a similar trick line meter where once you fill it up it gives you that speed boost but also remaps your trick buttons to do wilder movesets, something like that incorporated here would be amazing! LOVING IT KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

First impressions of the game are very good flips and tricking are very smooth and you can combine some cool flips with tricking.. Game have so much potential multiplayer with bunch of game modes like hide n seek would be awesome… gameplay at first is challenging but that makes it so cool. I’ve always dreamed for game like this!
