You guys are spot on about the racers & teams having a good time being important.
I was an Athletic Trainer in the '80's in the USFL. The FIRST time around. We were getting big name college players AND NFL veterans wanting to be in this upstart spring league for no money, (vs NFL $).
At the time, the NFL was being real sticks-in-the-mud re: player celebration, or any deviation from the 'official' uniform.
The USFL was free & loose; let the players have fun was their mindset. The players talked about it, frequently.
Having a good time in Bradenton was key to the success of the week.
It's often said in locker rooms, during pre-game & halftimes, Remember, we're playing a game; go out there & have fun.
When the players relax & have fun, they play better.
Drag racing is not that much different. For the majority of us, drag racing was something we did as 'kids'; it's a small few who get to continue racing the rest of our lives & even fewer who do it for a living.
My best drag racing memories from 40-50 years ago is related to the people & fun we had more than any individual race or event, solely based on the race.
Bradenton was something special & can continue to be so.

I live just a hour south of Bradenton. I had never been to an event like that and it was completely mind blowing. I got to meet Wes and Clay. Plus I almost got ran over by John Force on his scooter. I’ve been to a couple of NPK races but the PRO superstar shootout was amazing. I really hope it becomes a annual event
I clicked on this video to see @jimmydale. I stayed for Clay. Watched they whole video and enjoyed every minute. Clay is doing so much for motorsports with his crossover coverage. If you look at the comments of his video at Ceo Larrys Birthay event, his fans loved the Donk racing.
People forgot about grass roots marketing…. All the names we remember growing up are from grass root campaigns!

Follow Clay on his you tube channel. If I remember correctly he's mentioned cars like his are deemed unsafe until the engine is cleared. If that is the case then would it be wise to run a car in the other lane? 🤷. Just something that I thought about when y'all's was discussing it! TY for sharing!

My thought on break down in nitro cars the one at starting line should be shut off. He won any way. NO drive by at any speed,everybody is safe. If lane choice is a factor go on previous run time. Everybody goes home.
I can’t believe how many cars I see racing with the driver not having safety equipment on. No hans no gloves and no containment seat. Your head is so soft and a helmet hitting a cage with no padding won’t save you but it will help if you have the full setup working together
Jimmy is Lyle and Beer Money coming?
Pretty sure lyle said he was trying to get a different car for it but might bring beer money if it falls through... but after the cali nate thing lyle might have changed his mind on beer money. He stated a long time ago beer money is way to fast for the cage he has in it to continue to run it that hard

If it's any round other than the final round just make the lane choice decision based on the previous time slips/runs. Not perfect but it works. For the final just breaking the beam is a done deal. I have never seen or heard of this issue until today and I find it appalling. Great podcast Gentlemen. 🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁

Man, we heated N2O bottles for years with torches before the bottle heaters were developed… even then they were garbage until the past 5 years.
