Okay FAQ time! Q: "Why didn't you mention Gaster on twitter? The 6 blank-spaces match the memoryheads perfectly! A: Aw crap! I forgot about the Twitter! To my defense, I'm not even on twitter, and Toby has a history of deleting his tweets. While these ones are still up, the context of the black spaces, the name, the profile picture, etc. are mostly lost to time, so it's very hard to keep that reference handy. For those just tuning in, when Deltarune first launched Toby's Twitter switched profile pictures to the Static-Face seen in the Omega Flowey Fight. The Undertale Twitter switched it's profile picture to just pure black, and the name was switched to 6 black spaces. The tweets themselves are still up, and can be found here: www.reddit.com/r/Undertale/comments/9snem9/undertale_tweet_thread/ But they way they looked at the time is... less easy to source. All I can find is this screenshot from "Know Your Meme" knowyourmeme.com/photos/1426040-deltarune If someone has all of those archived somewhere, gimme a poke and I'll link it! Q: Wait "Tamaranai" mean "Unbearable" as in "Unbearably delicious" or "unbearably good?" A: Oh! Good point I didn't consider that. Credit to Kaninchenbau for catching that. (ruclips.net/channel/UCB8StnjjSuVCMF95Iv7Im9w) "Tamaranai" still isn't the slogan of McDonalds in Japan (as far as I know) but it *does* make sense here. Q: Did you know the Memoryheads are made up of 6 faces? A: Yep! I covered it here: ruclips.net/video/GEimLzAgVos/видео.html I... I probably should have at least referenced that fact here though. Q: Uhhh what's going on with the text at 4:46 A: Looks like the word "become" got chopped off in edit and no one noticed before it went live. Oopsie doopsie! Q: Who did that creepy voice over for the Amalgamates? A: Oh! Darn it, I used it in a different video and so forgot to credit. Eep! That was Salticibread. Originally she made that audio to bail me out of a jam during the Don't Forget Who's With Us In the Dark video, and so I spliced out that part of the video so she could put it on her channel. You can find that here: ruclips.net/video/FKROXs3rg9E/видео.html Q: Okay but I want to loop that part with the Amalgamate aesthetics. So where do I....? A: Here ya go: ruclips.net/user/clipUgkxiNJ9kVEyUJU399q-mXozMDzz5hHrrd70 Q: Pronouns? A: They/Them
Actually today I was thinking about the phone calls that spamton got what if they weren't from gaster but from a memory head because of the fact that they become understandable when using the phone and they make "dial up sounds" when they get hurt so, crackpot theory, What if spamton was talking to memory head(s?) On the phone and something happened that made them get hit and they ran off and in turn ditched spamton, and memory heads also give you bad memories so what if when spamton inevitably tried to make a deal with them they/it? Gave him tons of bad memories and that's what threw him over the edge?
God, I remember theorizing back in the day that MemoryHead were quite literal memories. The idea was their an amalgamation of the memories of all the characters, memories that were discarded by Flowey before the player arrived, during his mass resetting. Wanting Frisk to join them in the extreme fun and extraordinary pain that flowery had put every last character through during his time as the ruler of the timeline, before the player arrived and stole away the ability to reset from him. Glad to see somebody else realize something is seriously up with the memory heads!
I always discarded this theory (fairly new here) but I never heard the part that says it was the discarded memories from Flowey’s resets! That theory makes some sense since Gaster probably knows what’s going on here, and because lots of DT experiments happened in the True Lab
It might also be that those are not all memories but only those of amalgams. They have more DT (which allows to remember resets) than other monsters after all.
I definitely think the memoryheads are some form of living memories instead of just normal amalgamates. Never heard the idea of them being flowey’s memories from his resets before, that would explain why they’re in the true lab since that’s where flowey was “born.” It’s very interesting but it unfortunately disconnects the memoryheads from gaster since flowey’s resets aren’t connected to Gaster, unless... oh my god what if they are? We know nothing about how long Flowey has been around resetting for, I mean we know he lived out what was likely many years in his time but with reset powers that still gives us no information on the timeframe in regular time, but what if he was around when Gaster was? What if Flowey somehow caused what happened to Gaster? Asriel says that dying over and over again can weaken your connection to the world and leave you forgotten, it’s hard to tell if that’s just because of Asriel using his powers as the god of hyperdeath to weaken your grasp on reality or if dying on repeat in resets naturally disconnects you from reality. The way Asriel says it also makes it seem like he might have some experience in killing people enough to where reality forgets them, so what if Flowey killed Gaster enough to erase him from existence, that could explain how Gaster “falling into his own creation” causes his erasure, if it happened on repeat maybe that could shatter him across time in space. I realize as I’m typing this that Flowey was made by alphys after she started experimenting with determination, and those experiments likely only started after Gaster’s erasure and Alphys taking his role as royal scientist, so this whole long rant may have been for nothing. I can’t remember if the golden flower experiments came before or after the amalgamates, if it was before maybe Gaster could have been around, and I believe Alphys is credited for things like building the core that were supposed to be Gaster’s contributions, as if the universe is trying to fill the plot holes created by Gaster’s lack of existence, so perhaps this was stuff actually done by Gaster that got retroactively credited to Alphys to try and patch the crack in continuity? I’m up too late and rambling way too long, this probably isn’t even coherent anymore. If anyone’s actually reading this after reaching the end of my insane ramblings, maybe you can scrape together a more coherent theory from this mess, or explain why I’m completely wrong and debunk it all.
@@aceofspades8474 Gaster fell into his creation and disappeared, and while it’s possible this is more metaphorical, it seems strange to say, even for the Followers If Flowey, the main ‘villain’, wasn’t created by Alphys, it discredits her and ruins half of her entire character and makes the “A talking flower” scene a bit stranger Toby Fox is well known for his amazing main characters, who have mostly completed character arcs (with the exception of the Skelebros since we know so little about them, and even then Papyrus is fine, just a bit Naïve. Sans also has understandable motives for being lazy. Asgore and Toriel have become the people they are because of immortal years of trauma) Discrediting more than half of everything Alphys did and blaming everything that ever happened on Gaster (like several other theories) just doesn’t seem like Toby Fox, and makes Alphys seem like an unimportant character apart from giving us access to True Lab. Gaster also doesn’t talk like several of the entries (especially in Japanese, where there are several writing methods and pronouns, of which Gaster only uses a few select ones). I’m assuming the wingdings entry 17 was written by Gaster here, but that’s probably the most widely accepted theory in UT Sry if i sound rude or rambly
Speaking of "forgotten" amalgamates, there IS one that is even less talked about thab memory head and ReaperBird/Everyman : the thin wiggling thing that tucks Frisk into bed, and holds one of the true lab keys in the Bathroom. The sprite for this entity is called Watching man. And, the true lab just so happens to have that specific Line in the foggy Room : "There is something here... *Something in the shape of a man...* " Considering we've Seen Everyman show up multiple Times in DT now, i'm pretty sure the Time we'll meet MemoryHead and Watching man is fast approaching. These three are the only amalgamate who didn't get a proper ending in undertale. Pacifist route loose ends if you will
I wonder if the bed inspector trait will be required to find a Watching Man secret in Deltarune. Randomly inspecting beds is easily the most likely way to encounter Watching Man in Undertale in that one specific room. Also, something I find really weird is that one of the things you can feel near the thing that feels like a man is something that feels like a tree but everything in that room turns out to be just a fridge, one of which is shaking, & they look exactly like the fridge Asgore has in Deltarune, which you can put the egg in & then the egg turns Asgore's pickle jar into another egg. Maybe an egg or something similar exists in the true lab & it duplicated a bunch of fridges. Maybe the egg is a shapeshifting amalgamate. Amalgamates do seem to be great at shapeshifting. Like the one that imitates the fight screen message & then turns into a smiley face & even moreso, the one that somehow changes color to imitate a save point. Monsters aren't even supposed to see save points. Maybe amalgamates can see the strange things Frisk sees because they have determination. Does the egg have determination? I have theorized that determination is the power of creation, destruction, & reconstruction & that would explain the egg's behavior & possibly Gaster's too.
It seems weird to me that the algamates can mimic the save point. In deltarune it says that the save points are a "light that only you can see" so I wonder how the algamates know about it?
Well, save points are probably determination sources for our character, and because amalgamates are basically made out of determination that seems like a logical connection
@@nellymurkthewitch So either we (Frisk/Kris/player) cannot differentiate sources of determination as anything more than a vague white-gold light, or the amalgamates can also see such lights and have enough faculties to replicate them as a trap.
it could also be legitimately just a gag in that the form they were looked like a save point. but knowing this games, something deeper is definitely possible too
It could also be that the amalgam was just mimicking what we were looking for, for instance if it was someone else other than frisk/us, they might've seen something different
On Kris being referred to as "Lightbringer": This is actually pretty interesting and I don't see it brought up all that much. Kris bears this kind of Devil motif - It is noted at one point that they used to go about in plastic red horns, presumably the type you would wear in a devil costume. Compared to their golden boy brother, Kris was a weird devil child that would go about playing cruel pranks on others. Kris is called Lightbringer by the King, studied demon summoning and other dark magic, and is the only member of the Dreemur family to actively avoid church (Unless they can steal the juice, which of course represents wine as the game is doing this running gag where any alcoholic drinks are censored like an old video game.) Also worth considering: Satan is often depicted in the form of a humanoid or a dragon; Susie is a Dragon (Or at least dragon-like monster) and Kris is a Human. It's not... overly stressed, as a motif, but if you look out for any 'Devil' symbolism with Kris you can find a lot. By contrast, Asriel shares his name with an angel; more commonly spelled Azrael, and famous for being the Angel of Death in some traditions. This seems to be referenced in Undertale; Gerson mentions that people take a more dim view of the Deltarune symbol, and have begun to believe it is the sign of an "Angel of Death" who will free the monsters by killing them all. This is what happens in the final battle against Asriel, as he absorbs all the souls of the monsters, but in a prophecy twist they then all get better. In Deltarune, Asriel is beloved by everyone in town, frequents the church enough to be it's star in the choir, and generally seems to be the symbolic angel to Kris' symbolic devil. But of course, the more obvious contrast is Noelle in this game, who the game associates with angels constantly Noelle... Noelle and her family have a Christmas theme, and she is Kris' close friend. Noelle is obviously a variant of "Noel," which generally means "Christmas" but can also specifically by a hymn celebrating the birth of Christ or just "Birthday." This may be worth considering when the name "Kris" is also originates from "Christ," albeit with a few steps between them. Noelle is referred to as things like "Angel" constantly, as well, and has a huge amount of Angel symbolism in her approach. So like... I feel as though there's some connection there being poked at. Also worth noting is that a number of other characters have "almost-religious" names: Jevil - Devil, lmao Mettaton/Spamton - Metatron, the Recording Angel or Angelic Scribe (In the sense of recording what he says.) Said to have been an angelic transformation of Enoch. This name might actually be a pun. Mike - Michael, the chief of the Archangels who is destined to fight Satan in the book of revelations. Frequently depicted as fighting Satan while he takes the form of a dragon or a humanoid. As with all things Mike, this is a stretch. Ralsei - Rasiel, the ruling prince of the second layer of heaven, who is in charge of maintaining the Living Beings; the Living Beings are described as enormous angelic beings covered in eyes that literally hold up heaven's firmament. Also wrote a book that guided many humans through the world. Toriel - Angelic name suffix (Uriel, Yomiel, etc.) Probably just named this way to make the Asgore+Toriel=Asriel thing work. Noelle, Asriel, Kris - Aforementioned
Okay this is mind blowing, the angel from Ut may have been Asriel all along when people were fighting about It being frisk or the player Second, the ralsei being a ruler where giant people covered in eyes exist is extremely on the nose with the titans being ralsei's worry, three gigantic beings in the cutscene with one even covered in eyes! That and the land around castle town is paved with those markings, even having a puzzle made from them Jevil is devil or evil and joker, or would It be djinn if he was pronounced with a DJEH noise instead of a simple J? He talks about chaos a lot, the titans bring chaos, he knows a lot for someone stuck in a jail for years, perhaps the mystery man is why. Oh and kris uses they, we don't know if they're male or female and seems to be neither, probably for the sake of being our vessel like frisk unless humans in the tobyverse effectively do not have actual genders which isn't this farfetched since they all share similar bodies from what we've seen and the goner maker didn't give us the option (reminds me of angels not having those either), (maybe we'll meet a clearly stated female or male one at one point ? Closest we had was chara so far)
@@flyingstonemon3564 Yeah, the Ralsei/Rasiel thing especially seems... Important. Bear in mind I AM playing up the similarities because... RUclips Comment, you know? The Living Beings are angels, who are often depicted as covered in eyes, but not the exact kind of giants covered in eyes seen in the game. And, holding up the firmament is one variant of their mythology (Albeit the one most closely tied to Rasiel.) But they do seem to resemble the Titans very closely, thematically, even so. So, take it all with a grain of salt obviously, but I think it's an interpretation worth considering
@@i010001 True, I guess one mention that could be made is how flowey photoshop is at the end of the neutral route and that omega means the end, It's part of the little things that could mean something or not, the ralsei stuff falls into that line
Holy shit, that connection with the “the pain itself” line with Lorum Ipsum blew my mind. I’ve known what it meant in English for a long time but I never made a connection between the memory heads saying it and the placeholder text in Deltarune. That’s super fucking cool, because that means the entire “is that a cut on your face or part of your eye” thing could very well be about them, since all of their eyes appear to be crying. I do think that the memory heads ultimately relate back to Gaster. But all of these little details are going to drive me up the wall.
The memory heads were always the ones that just... Never fit in. To any puzzle. They never made sense in any context, their lines were bizarre and random, I just couldn't ever make any sense of their purpose. Also, I'll be looking out for the Pokemon videos.
"Tamaranai" is actually a good localization of "I'm lovin' it"! Like if you were eating something tasty, you could say 美味しくてたまらない, which you'd translate as "It's so good I can't handle it" (or "it's unbearably delicious!" or something similar). So yeah, out of context it seems like a weird dialogue change, but it actually isn't (sorry if this has already been pointed out) Great video! I never realized the Memoryheads weren't actually related to any monsters in the underground so now I'm just gonna ponder on that in mild horror over what that means, thanks 😂
When I encountered the Memoryheads and they said come join in the fun I always thought of Pyrope and the fact you could invite them to hang out. Now that I know they AREN'T Pyrope So im like "Great...not only are they not pyrope...They're an unholy combination of who knows what."
This actually isn’t true, like hardly at all. While yes, tamaranai can be used for things like unbearably delicious, it has no inherent good or bad meaning. It can just as easily be used to say unbearably painful or sad. The word itself has absolutely no connection to “good feelings” that would make it an even tenuous translation for “I’m lovin it.”
For Reaper Bird in particular I think the reason we don't see em with family nor graves, is because they are the only they are made of common of Monster. Lemon Bread is Shyren's sister who is a unique encounter, Endogeni have multiple important/unique encounter with all doges, and Crystal is Snowdrakes mother who also has somewhat background and is particular as well as they can only be one Snowdrake, Reaper Bird only has common Monsters that lacks any of those, hence they are no part of the Overworld part.
Something you might have missed about the Memory Heads: If you look closely at their faces, they aren't one face. They're a fusion of character's faces, like would might be Papyrus on the left and more random pieces. But worse, there is a still from the attack animation as it's spine thing. So Memory Head could be something fat more meta...
I couldn't help but notice that the face on the left vaguely resembles Spamton. I'd assume that's just a coincidence, but wouldn't it be cool if the memory heads were a fusion of all the secret bosses?
Damn, you're right. It's like 6 faces. The one on the left kinda looks like Spamton & the top of the memoryhead looks similar to his hairdo. That's probably a coincidence though because Toby probably hadn't design Spamton yet. Then again, I guess he could've just based parts of Spamton's appearance on parts of the memoryheads. Oh shit, I just realized the memoryheads literally say lines from ads just like Spamton does. "I'm lovin' it." is a McDonald's slogan & "Come join the fun." is a generic phrase used in lots of ads. They even have spaces in place of their name just like Spamton has spaces in place of random parts of his dialogue. They also attack you by making tiny duplicates of themselves just like he does & they can seemingly give you a part of themselves as an item just like he can. Spamton does also give an item that hurts you for using it & he has a phone fixation.
I think So Cold might also be 2 Vegetoids, since the two sides of her face look distinctly like two faces. Snowdrake notes how So Cold is make up of his mother and 22 others, so she’s most likely made from a wide variety of different Monsters, or multiple of the same Monster Species, even if not stated in the artbook. 3:42 Also they seem to be implying that if they kill you, you become a memoryhead. This has potentially massive implications For 4:10, you kinda are making a deal with them if this is true, you’re promising to join them (permanently if you weren’t determined, since death isn’t reversable without DT) I’m also a big Pokémon Fan, so I’d love to see you remake your old videos :)
i always thought vegetoid was part of the so cold amalgamate weird to see that not in the artbook, and that ice cap is? i dont see the ice cap part at all
I'm not sure that this is in any way relevant, but I thought it interesting. Looking at the line "Is that a cut on your face or part of your eye?" whilst looking at the memoryhead made me realize it has several things on its sprite some of which appear to be eyes and some look almost like cuts.
Oddly, a thing bothered me in Deltarune's Goner Maker when I was selecting a head, to the point it influenced my decision... most of them had a random line on their face. But it wasn't like a stray hair... they go in really odd directions that don't really make sense. I... wonder if that could be a crack or gash or something. I know the Gaster Followers don't seem to have face gashes... but thinking about two Goner characters in Undertale, there's Goner Kid (who has two slits on the back of their head, almost like an American electrical socket, waiting to be plugged in or having perhaps become unplugged... and that Goner Clam who basically teased Deltarune, whose eye appears to have three gashes at the bottom. o.o
Could be implying something with frisk? Presumably frisk has a cut before they come down to the underground and maybe have received cuts before ( they start with a bandage and the flavour text suggests its well used) so maybe it's a literal memory of frisk?
why is nobody noticing that the battle start thing, like when the soul goes into the middle, fits perfectly between “When the light is running low, and the shadows start to grow, and the places that you, seem like fantasy.” and “There’s a light inside your soul, that’s still shining in the cold, with the truth, the promise in our hearts.”
ive been worrying about the memoryheads ever since i realised that they were unaccounted for like you said in the beginning at 7:39 the little tsu doubles the previous consonant, so it's romanised as nakatta! it's a tsu because lots of kanji with tsu have that effect, especially with kana beginning with ts, ds, ks, and gs
Something I just thought of: "Bad Memory" has two meanings, both of which apply perfectly. One is that fighting with one of those things can be disturbing, and so it leaves a bad memory with you, which you can't get rid of because you can't just throw away your bad memories. On a more meta scale, Bad Memory could ALSO mean "CORRUPT memory", as in computer memory, which would make the item itself an error. Because the item is made from corrupted data, you can't drop it - it doesn't play by the rules that normal items do. What a fantastic series this is...
Random thing related-ish to Don't Forgot. In Deltarune, Onion-san, when talking about the song of the sea, repeats that she "Can't Remember" Not being able to remember is the opposite of not being able to forget. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
That's an interesting observation, the sea song could have the ability to make people forget things. Fortunately this time though, it seems to be something we'd definitely find out in regular gameplay when the time comes.
Here my personal take on the theory. It a message being spread throughout the dark world as a SOS. what lead me to believe in this is the fact that the songs sound like a glitch or digitize in the end of chapter 2, sharing the theme withe the cyber world. Not only that, we can hear a motif of it in the save select screen in chapter 2 showing a locked door to a destroyed world, implying that the dark world in the closet from chapter 1 can be entered without a fountain, which can be support by ralsie walking, based on the desc theory,, the cyber world since it implies a secret tunnel or a known pathway that connect the dark world, since we never really see the other paths behind us in both chapter 1 or 2. Finally, in chapter 1, the motif if it was nearly everywhere, but in chapter 2 it wasn't, it could only be heard by the door from chapter 1 or the ending. (Edit): Temmie Chang had attempted to sing Don't forgot 2 years ago, this may be important.
Oh also about the “666” gaster thing. I don’t remember if you’ve ever brought it up in your videos before, but the original Deltarune “Survey program” download was listed as version 666 in the file settings. So you know… that’s interesting.
The other day I noticed that two of the faces inside MemoryHead's sprite look like Jevil and Spamton, and paired with the fact that it looks like there's a phone receiver with a cord next to it, the fact that there's three of them (same as there are three save files in deltarune), and all the other Gaster connections these amalgamates have, I'm going out on a limb and understanding them as Gaster's amalgamate. They are tied to memories and forgetting because that's what happened to Gaster - he was forgotten. Another interesting thing is that if you follow this idea, you can count more or less six distinguished faces inside MemoryHead's skull. Six faces, six secret bosses, maybe Gaster will be the final secret boss. It's too early to say, though. This was a great video, thanks a lot for all the hard theorizing work, even if some of it sounds like a bit of a stretch to me
One thing that I see people getting wrong though is the lorem ipsum line. The original filler text's start is from an actual Latin text and a fragment of dolorem ipsum, which indeed means "pain itself". However, dolorem is in accusative case, which means that dolorem ipsum docet would translate to "[he/she/it] teaches pain itself".
Found your channel not long ago. Came for obscure DR/UT secrets, stayed for "Battle against RUclips algorythm" anime character arc. I'm so glad that things turned out good for you in the end. You're great data miner from your abilities to code and understand Japanese to densly packed visuals and informative pinned comment. Keep up an awesome work!
the memoryheads have been driving me crazy since undertale and even more since deltarune came out. the fact that theyre related to phones and that phones are related to gaster. the wrong number song, "beware the man that speaks in hands", "you dont need friends kris i can make my hands into phones", the garbage noise from kris's phone, jevil warning us about our "little cell" what does it all mean
Something i noticed about the memory head sprite is that Well look at the jaw? Or what ever the bottom part is , it looks like slash animation when you attack with a knife in the game.
I swear the RUclips algorithm is going crazy, I immediately clicked on a video after finishing this one and the first ad that played was an ad for Mcdonalds in Japanese
Haven’t finished the video yet but I wanna say good job. One request though, be careful with text size, I’m sure plenty of people are viewing these videos on small screens like their phones (I am). I understand some of the notes like at 2:39 are pretty minor, but still with many of these textual easter eggs being extremely brief, letting the text get that small makes it even harder to comprehend whether it’s worth pausing for or not. Edited to add caveat: I may just need glasses
Nah you make a good point. The timings are 100% my bad, because sometimes the program lags so I'm unsure if a bit of text was onscreen long enough to be read. But the size is trickier because the larger the text, the more I'm conveying it's important, and distracting from the rest of the video. So I either have to cut those parts, or .... find some other way to let them melt into the background? Hm... I will think on this matter.
@@HalfBreadChaos I totally understand the struggle. Most of the small, freeze-frame text isn’t quite as small as the one I pointed out though, so more uniformity could help the issue. More important though is at 4:47, where you show comparisons between the Memoryheads and “Don’t Forget”. That one is actually hard to read regarding size (which could be fixed via changing the layout) and the color of some text, so (making the darker text a lighter shade can help contrast the background, just as an example), and is there text under the Memoryhead itself as well? Admittedly most of this text is, again, not very important once I screencap and zoom in a bit, since you then explain the important bits almost right away. But I think making the text more immediately legible can help to be less distracting, if that is one of your concerns. The video itself is great as always, your quality is on a pretty steep and steady ascent and I love to see it, so although I might be nitpicking on some level, I am just trying to be helpful to both you and the audience.
@@empiar5481 :D I appreciate it. Since I never received formal video-editing training there's a lot of stuff like that which slips through the cracks, so gentle corrections like this are super valuable to me. So uh, yeah! Arigato. :D
@@HalfBreadChaos i've noticed you put a lot of little notes at the very bottom of the screen, but when i pause, i can't read them as the playbar covers the text, and the playbar is always visible when the video is paused. i really like reading all your notes and will take the time to pause and zoom in as needed, but i think it would be worthwhile to leave the bottom edge of the screen as a "dead zone" to account for the playbar blocking the view. (love these videos btw, of course!)
I think I figured something out. In Undertale, Gerson says that you can’t kill him in the shop and that knowledge like that was the only reason he lived so long. Could the reason he’s alive in Undertale but not deltarune be that he can’t die in the shop? It seems like a stretch, but he also says that he’s been around for a long time, maybe too long. Just a thought.
Or that he somehow learned the same truth as Sans, Jevil, Spamton and Kris, and has become aware enough of the game to understand its mechanics. Perhaps he has lived too long with this information.
He also lies to mislead the player, similar to sans. In pacifist, he says that he was once a hero and he tells a story about it. In genocide, he says “I’m not a hero, never was.” Never was is of course very intentional so we don’t think it means “I am not currently a hero” because Toby wanted us to know he was lying.
Just a lil thought. But if the memory heads are related to the song in any way, i like the idea of the "in our hearts" being in plural because it's literally THEIR hearts. Would be a fun concept
It baffles me how you can still pave so much new ground in terms of theories for this series, considering the magnitude of coverage that has already been made
For some reason in my head I've always just thought of memory heads as ghosts, or something similar. They're not accounted for at all after you spare them which is so odd. They're barely ever mentioned again (except the credits) they aren't even in the final cutscene in the lab when alphys saves you. Only 4 amalgams apear. (Though strangely. They all use the graphics for the overworld memory head, this very well could be like 4 memory heads cornering you or something.) In my head ironically, I've forgotten about them over time.
What about the "Lorem Ipsum Docet" line? Which translates to "pain itself" That can be connected with the hidden poem in Deltarune, that says "The pain itself is reason why."
This is such an interesting theory. Undertale and Deltarune are my favorite games, so it’s really awesome to watch your channel. Keep up the greatness! Also, you constantly try to care for our theory needs, but ‘Don’t Forget’ to take care of yourself as well! Also also, ‘birthday present to yourself’? (12:36) It was your birthday in April? 🎉HAPPY (BALLATED) BIRTHDAY!🎉 Can’t wait to see those renewed videos!
Can you do a theory on Castle Town's dark fountain? It seems ancient and primordial, and I doubt the builders of the school decided to build the supply closet around it. My theory is that the fountain mainly exists elsewhere and only recently breeched into the supply closet. Perhaps the bunker is connected to an ancient cave system under the town where the castle town fountain mainly resides? Is it connected to the song beneath the sea(water-filled dark cave)? Maybe the cave system could allow Ralsei to freely move between dark fountain's in the town by invoking small, temporary breeches.
Unnecessary Japanese Lesson: ”っ” in "しかし こうかは なかった" means you should pose at the letter right before it when pronouncing. The pronunciation is like "nakatta" or "naka ta". "たまらない" means "(I'm so in love with this that) I can't stand". I'm afraid that Japanese translators didn't notice McDonald's. 思ウ (omou) is not "thoughts" but a verb, "think". And ドウ (dou) is "how" rather than "what". I know that English uses "what" with "think", but in Japanese "思ウ" has less logical nuance (more sensational) and more close to "wonder" or "feel", so we use "ドウ" instead of "何(nani, what)" with "思ウ". The Japanese equivalent to "think" may well be "考える kangaeru" and it is used with "どう(dou)" or "何を(naniwo, what)", but this is not so a natural expression. Basically, Japanese is not as logical or debate-like as English. 君タチ二人ハドウ思ウ? kimi tachi futari wa dou omou? ≒ HOW DO YOU TWO FEEL? WHAT DO YOU TWO THINK? ≒君タチ二人ハ何ヲ考エル?(not so natural; a bit artificial) Other information: *Lancer's "おのれ Onore" doesn't mean "you" but this is an interjection(a bit classical and usually comical). Onore! ≒ How dare you! ; Darn! ; I'm frustrated because of you! ; I'll fight back now! etc. *Sans's "アンタも antamo" means "you too". "アンタ anta" is one word. (same as Alphys) *Seam's "あんたらか anta-ra ka" might be the mistake of "あんたらが anta-ra ga". "が ga" shows the word right before it is the subject, so "あんたら" is one word. *Spamton's "アnタ AnTA" has two possibilities: "あんた anta" or "あなた anata" *Rouxls's "you" is "汝(なんじ nanji)" *Metatton's "I" is "ぼく boku" *Asgore's "I" is "わたし watashi"
There are actually a lot of 3s in Undertale/Deltarune, which is something I think about whenever I remember the poorly drawn picture of 3 people smiling with the words "don't forget" in the lab under Sans' house. The 3 people smiling could be the whoever the Memory Heads are. Those 3 people could also be the 3 Heroes in Deltarune, the 3 Skeletons (Sans, Papyrus, Gaster), the 3 ghosts in Undertale, the 3 Dreemurrs (Asgore, Toriel, Asriel). Other cases where I see 3 include that there are Humans, Monsters, and Something Else, there are 3 Titans in the Chapter 2 cutscene where Ralsei talks about the Titans and fountains and darkness. There are 3 Broken Key parts, 3 holes spinning on Seam's button eye, 3 things spinning on Flowey's face for whatever isn't a human or a monster, and 3 things in the same arrangement on the middle Titan in the cutscene. Anyway the main thing I wanted to say here is that the Memory Heads could be linked to the drawing with there being 3 of them and with the smiling and stuff.
I know this is an year old comment, but I'm surprised this has no likes. Also, the number Delta is a triangle, which has three sides of course, like in Deltarune. And possibly the 3 - Frisk, Chara and the Player, if we consider NarraChara cannon.
6:40 Don't forget (heh) that the title of the song is directy quoted in Undertale in Sans's Workshop on the hidden drawing if you talk to Clam Girl/Goner Clam. Perhaps 'Don't Forget' is directed at Sans.
In relation to magic, how is nobody bringing up Kris's apparent dark arts studies with Catti? Nobody ever talks about that interaction, but it's such an interesting one.
9:12 not only thats from mc donalds but when u finish genocide in ruins flowey will say “thats a wonderful idea”which is also from a mc donalds cormmcial so this might mean something
I’ve always wondered what was up with the memory heads ever since playing Undertale but I didn’t expect this! Keep up the good work (but don’t forget to rest when you need to)
FINALLY someone talks about the memoryheads. One dose of theory juice I'd like to throw in is the fact that they resemble thought bubbles. And there's so much evidence tying them to Gaster that I'd make the bold claim that the memoryheads are Gaster's memories. They're not amalgamates. A lot of people say they can see the faces of various characters within the memoryhead's sprite, and this could work with my theory too as the characters that people see are characters that Gaster had some form of contact with (Papyrus and Spamton for example.)
Man I love this channel. When I watch theory’s about games I always then want to play the game, to somehow experience what I felt in the theory. But with deltarune, it’s not as possible. There’s a limited amount of things in deltarune, being only chapter 1 and 2. It makes me hungry to experience anything new or different. Like when you pointed out the creepy smile in the queens basement, I didn’t know that. My ps4 broke and so I had to do deltarune all over again. (But somehow I had my chapter one save???) I finally got to the basement and saw the face and thought, “Damn. That’s pretty cool. Wonder who was so focused on that one spot to notice the face.” But you have such good editing that it basically creates new content. You bring things I don’t even think game theory would’ve thought of to solve the pieces in the lore puzzle. Your self-sona character (or you, if you prefer) has a little bedroom and the entire “time traveling” gag. This channel just completes the entire urge for new content in deltarune, and I thank you so much for that, HBC.
I noticed something. So, heres some lines from Don't Forget. Theres a light inside your soul, thats still shining in the cold. We all know that the player is the soul, correct? I think the light might be determination or something. That part doesnt matter, but what does matter is that it still says its shining in the cold. Based on what it is saying it still is, we can infer that the soul didnt die from something possibly like Snowgrave. That means that (we dont actually die its just lore wise) 1. The player is affected by things like dying, and 2. Noelle freaking trys to murder you in the Weird Route, judging from the song.
I thought of Alphys for a moment because of you showing her when it says "I'm with you in the dark"(4:41), but also Alphys was actually with us all the time in Undertale, but just watching. Seems kinda logical
I'm always glad when people who don't prefer speaking in videos use text to speech instead of just text on screen... I miss a lot when it's just text on screen when I have to focus on both the text and the other things going on on screen when it's deep things such as this
ok so my knowledge of japanese is minimal at best and mostly comes from playing video games that never got translated, but i _think_ that there _might_ be some wordplay going on in the "is that a cut on your face" poem? i went back to that part of the video just to see if the japanese lines still rhyme, and they do, but it just so happens that the words it rhymes with in the last two lines both end in "-itai". again, i'm absolutely not an expert, but i personally know "itai" as an exclamation roughly used in place of "ouch" but more literally meaning "it hurts".
As for the recurrence of 3’s, part of why 6’s are “evil” is because 3’s are “holy” because of the holy trinity, God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, by doubling three, you’re going above God or something like that, I’ve never been good at this sort of thing. so maybe it’s trying to distance the bad memory from being evil and more of a good thing?
I love your videos so much!! They are so well put together, extremely entertaining, and they make it so much easier to make ties between games and other connections I otherwise wouldn’t have in this spaghetti lore ❤️❤️
Tamaranai can also mean “I can’t get enough of it!” You can use it for stuff you really like so I’m thinking it might actually be a good translation of the McDonalds slogan. If not the original (I don’t go to McD that often)
I may not have any info, but I *do* have words of encouragement! Your videos enamor me, every single one is entertaining! I am constantly intrigued by what you talk about next! I'm not the best at pointing out things to compliment, so just let it be known that I always look forward to your next piece of content!
There is a newer theory that arose since Deltarune Chapter 2 that the Memoryheads might be an amalgamate of all of the superbosses that we will encounter in Deltarune and that is the reason why they are longing for their families but we have no clue what monsters make up this form. Some people even say that you can see Lancer's spade head, Jevil with the Jevilsknife and Spamton in the Memoryhead's structure albeit melting; there are some people who think that on the other side across from Spamton could be this 'Mike' holding a phone which is disconnected, and the phone cord makes up the "tail" of this amalgamate. Overall the entire shape of the Memoryhead looks like a skull, and has such an odd connection with phones, glitching, dial up sounds (which is another form of phones being used on the internet, and the 'smell of batteries.' ) As for the 3's popping up WITH the Memoryhead, that is a very curious detail as 3 keeps appearing off and on in Deltarune as a theoretical number: the triad of heroes, the triad of ghosts that we have from Undertale, 3 corners of a triangle, delta waves are RGB, ect. In fact, Spamton Neo's HP is 4809 which is unlike most other boss HP numbers which are rounded off evenly like say Jevil's 3500 or Spamton's regular 600. If Toby is taking from numerology, 4809 (which is also an 'angel number' that means Don't Give Up/Prayers Have Been Answered) can also be condensed into a base number of 3 as well (adding 4+8+9 and then adding up the 2 and the 1 from 21, which 21 in itself is considered a high number with mathematics and a root of 3.) It really makes me wonder how much of Gaster's scientific leanings are being used into the background of this entire game and how much Deltarune might just be a giant experiment on the whims of him. I know this all sounds like lore poisoning or tin hat foilery, but I just find it fascinating here and considering that Toby is no stranger to divination references or number puns (Noelle's LV from 55) I just wonder how much more fun stuff he put into this game.
These theories have helped me a lot in discovering mysterious things, I haven't looked into Deltarune code or theories before and your videos are very entertaining and informative. You make theorizing very fun! One thing I would like to add, is that in the mysteries of 3's with the memory heads, if you call Papyrus in his battle area he will say "THIS IS WHERE I TRIED TO CAPTURE YOU! WHAT A TERRIBLE MEMORY." In the genocide route, Papyrus's ATK and DEF are 3.. and in normal battle he will spare you after you fail to defeat him in 3 tries. I've watched a lot of videos so I'll try to summarize something else I've noticed (It's Papyrus again, surprise) In Deltarune, you've pointed out that if you sleep in the bed, it will skip the opening/school scene and you start in the Darkner world. If that's foreshadowing/a hint, it's heavily implying that Kris is in control when we're not. So Kris carries the story without us. Where am I going with this? WELL: Did you know that Papyrus doesn't sleep? Sans does claim that he reads Papyrus a bedtime story, but when Undyne stays over, she tells you that "And Papyrus himself doesn't??? Know how to sleep?" So is it possible that Papyrus is in a similar state to Kris? And when one sleeps, the other is in control? Is this why Papyrus's head falls off when he's defeated?
The “is that a cut on your face or part of your eye” text also makes me think of Omega Flowey's eyes.(the way they initallyappear to be straight lines before his "actual eyes" open over them)
I wonder if the Bad Memory inspiration comes from Pokemon "Bad EGG", they are corrupted Pokemon, you can't delete them and you end up putting them in a box... Also sometimes Bad EGGs spread to other pokemons turning them into Bad EGGs as well. Kinda... like what happens to the pickle in the fridge in Deltarune once you add an EGG... very very interesting.
2:10 ...Huh. I always swore that it looked like the two "halves" of Crystal's face were malformed Vegetoids. Surprised to not see them here in the official breakdown of their constituent parts
I really enjoy all of your videos. Even the text to speech is sorta your thing now. I like all the deltarune self insert edits you do. It’s very charming. I would be willing to see other games. Deltarune just has so much interesting topics, but it will run low soon. We gotta wait for the next batch of chapters.
With in depth you go with your theories and how uniquely you present information i would love you diving into other topics. You can only theorize so much when we only have to chapters of a game after all
So, I'd always noticed this, but I never made the connection until seeing you make the point that you can't throw away the Bad Memories. We know that in Undertale, you can't get the True Pacifist ending on your first run after a True Reset. The game doesn't trigger the Alphys date, and the Alphys date is the only way to get Papyrus' call that sends you to the True Lab (where the Memoryheads are). We also know that the monsters very vaguely remember you on every run after your first run after a True Reset. They all have deja vu about you and say you look familiar, or they feel like you were their friend in a prior life. I also know from personal experience that if you abandon your first run for any reason, no matter how far you got, you still can't get a True Pacifist. You have to do at least one full Neutral or Flawed Pacifist run, fight Omega Flowey, and then reset, before you can get a True Pacifist. And a True Reset is the only way to fully erase the monsters' memories of you, erase their deja vu. Which means, you can't get a True Pacifist if all the monsters don't have some forgotten memory of you. Also, sans described the Underground as a "dark cavern" full of skeletons and monsters. So what I realized is: In order to get a True Pacifist, every single monster in the Underground has to remember you. Or in other words, you can't get a True Pacifist ending unless they don't forget you were with them in the dark.
I find it odd that the king calls them “light bringer” it kinda throws the theory that kris is the knight, because then wouldn’t they be dark bringer instead? If the created the fountains. But also people could argue that the king just doesn’t know it’s kris. But my main question was is the king referring ONLY to kris? Or everyone? Because if so wouldn’t he use the term “lightener” instead like he did all the other times. Or it could be a direct reference to gaster and demons like you suggested idk. Definitely suspicious tho I agree
While it wasnt clear at the time of chapter 1, Im now pretty sure King is actually referring to Kris’ possession of (by) a soul? After all, Spamton quite clearly says “Youre lightner arent you? Youve got the light. Why don’t you show it off” When referring to krises soul?
Ah, I believe I got into more detail in the Gonercode video but, those are uh.... I'm not sure what to call them.. error handlers I suppose? If you interact with an object outside of a designation, it prints those instead of freezing the game. So let's say you hacked in an impossible room with an impossible object (???) and then tried to examine it, it would set the text to one of those lines by default.
“Is that a cut on your face or a part of your eye?” mystery man seems to have two gashes on his eyes. it’s impossible to know if he always had those, or he got them. so assuming mystery man is gaster, this ties the memory heads even more to gaster.
Yooo the nitty gritty of pokemon is so interesting!! I love your in-depth style of analysis so I'm super interested in what's to come! Great video as always bred, good sheet 😏
A funny detail I noticed "a book of magic, it seems most require orbs or floating hands" pretty much 100% of fan content of gaster gives him floating hands
Interesting theory, what if KRIS sold their SOUL in a deal with the ‘Devil.’ This could also explain why gaster had Kris’s body to give you after gonermaker.
The tweets themselves are still up, and can be found here: www.reddit.com/r/Undertale/comments/9snem9/undertale_tweet_thread/
But they way they looked at the time is... less easy to source. All I can find is this screenshot from "Know Your Meme"

A: Oh! Good point I didn't consider that. Credit to Kaninchenbau for catching that. (ruclips.net/channel/UCB8StnjjSuVCMF95Iv7Im9w)
"Tamaranai" still isn't the slogan of McDonalds in Japan (as far as I know) but it *does* make sense here.

That was Salticibread. Originally she made that audio to bail me out of a jam during the Don't Forget Who's With Us In the Dark video, and so I spliced out that part of the video so she could put it on her channel. You can find that here: ruclips.net/video/FKROXs3rg9E/видео.html

Thank you
Actually today I was thinking about the phone calls that spamton got what if they weren't from gaster but from a memory head because of the fact that they become understandable when using the phone and they make "dial up sounds" when they get hurt so, crackpot theory,
What if spamton was talking to memory head(s?) On the phone and something happened that made them get hit and they ran off and in turn ditched spamton, and memory heads also give you bad memories so what if when spamton inevitably tried to make a deal with them they/it? Gave him tons of bad memories and that's what threw him over the edge?
When referencing you in comments, should we just call you Halfbreadchaos, Bread, Halfbread, Breadchaos, or something else entirely?
@@Mixedtale_official oh fudge that’s true.
What an interesting theory, I think more people should see this.
@@aceofspades8474 Gaster fell into his creation and disappeared, and while it’s possible this is more metaphorical, it seems strange to say, even for the Followers
If Flowey, the main ‘villain’, wasn’t created by Alphys, it discredits her and ruins half of her entire character and makes the “A talking flower” scene a bit stranger
Toby Fox is well known for his amazing main characters, who have mostly completed character arcs (with the exception of the Skelebros since we know so little about them, and even then Papyrus is fine, just a bit Naïve. Sans also has understandable motives for being lazy. Asgore and Toriel have become the people they are because of immortal years of trauma)
Discrediting more than half of everything Alphys did and blaming everything that ever happened on Gaster (like several other theories) just doesn’t seem like Toby Fox, and makes Alphys seem like an unimportant character apart from giving us access to True Lab.
Gaster also doesn’t talk like several of the entries (especially in Japanese, where there are several writing methods and pronouns, of which Gaster only uses a few select ones). I’m assuming the wingdings entry 17 was written by Gaster here, but that’s probably the most widely accepted theory in UT

And, the true lab just so happens to have that specific Line in the foggy Room :
"There is something here... *Something in the shape of a man...* "
Considering we've Seen Everyman show up multiple Times in DT now, i'm pretty sure the Time we'll meet MemoryHead and Watching man is fast approaching. These three are the only amalgamate who didn't get a proper ending in undertale. Pacifist route loose ends if you will
"...i'm pretty sure the Time we'll meet MemoryHead and Watching man is fast approaching."
Fast approaching huh
Nice reference
Oh yeah, never knew about Watching Man, he seems to line up with The Man in Deltarune.
@@codelerias You got that reference ? That means you're a [BIG SHOT] !
@@laguet93 *[[BIG SHOT NOISES]]*
@@marctaco2624 I figure they can mind read frisk and find out from that
it could also be legitimately just a gag in that the form they were looked like a save point. but knowing this games, something deeper is definitely possible too
It could also be that the amalgam was just mimicking what we were looking for, for instance if it was someone else other than frisk/us, they might've seen something different
On Kris being referred to as "Lightbringer":
This is actually pretty interesting and I don't see it brought up all that much.
But of course, the more obvious contrast is Noelle in this game, who the game associates with angels constantly
Noelle...
Also worth noting is that a number of other characters have "almost-religious" names:
Jevil - Devil, lmao
Mettaton/Spamton - Metatron, the Recording Angel or Angelic Scribe (In the sense of recording what he says.) Said to have been an angelic transformation of Enoch.
W O AH. This is really interesting
Okay this is mind blowing, the angel from Ut may have been Asriel all along when people were fighting about It being frisk or the player
Second, the ralsei being a ruler where giant people covered in eyes exist is extremely on the nose with the titans being ralsei's worry, three gigantic beings in the cutscene with one even covered in eyes! That and the land around castle town is paved with those markings, even having a puzzle made from them
Jevil is devil or evil and joker, or would It be djinn if he was pronounced with a DJEH noise instead of a simple J?
That’s crazy
So yeah, out of context it seems like a weird dialogue change, but it actually isn't (sorry if this has already been pointed out)
Great video! I never realized the Memoryheads weren't actually related to any monsters in the underground so now I'm just gonna ponder on that in mild horror over what that means, thanks 😂
Aw snap good point! Time to add that to the FAQ
I'm lovin it! *McDonald's jingle plays* Lol.

Makes sense that they contain the Everyman, as they are only comprised of the everyman (normal, unnamed people).
@@slickwilli409 Then where is Jevil? Actually, I have my own theory about him. It would be cool, though
@@D_YellowMadness Strange, isn't it?
@crystal 23 True. And his theme had been made before, it became Toriel's theme. Almost as if the theme of cards and such was already in his head...
This has potentially massive implications
For 4:10, you kinda are making a deal with them if this is true, you’re promising to join them (permanently if you weren’t determined, since death isn’t reversable without DT)

I love the robot singing "Don't forget"
I'm not sure that this is in any way relevant, but I thought it interesting. Looking at the line "Is that a cut on your face or part of your eye?" whilst looking at the memoryhead made me realize it has several things on its sprite some of which appear to be eyes and some look almost like cuts.
Yep. That's something they have in common with Gaster & sometimes Chara.
Presumably frisk has a cut before they come down to the underground and maybe have received cuts before ( they start with a bandage and the flavour text suggests its well used) so maybe it's a literal memory of frisk?
why is nobody noticing that the battle start thing, like when the soul goes into the middle, fits perfectly between “When the light is running low, and the shadows start to grow, and the places that you, seem like fantasy.”
and
“There’s a light inside your soul, that’s still shining in the cold, with the truth, the promise in our hearts.”
That actually fits really well!
The player is with Kris "in the dark," or the battlescreen
The thought about not being able to get rid of a bad memory... Huh. Fascinating. Thanks for the video!
ive been worrying about the memoryheads ever since i realised that they were unaccounted for like you said in the beginning
at 7:39 the little tsu doubles the previous consonant, so it's romanised as nakatta! it's a tsu because lots of kanji with tsu have that effect, especially with kana beginning with ts, ds, ks, and gs
In Deltarune, Onion-san, when talking about the song of the sea, repeats that she "Can't Remember"
Not being able to remember is the opposite of not being able to forget.

Very very interesting
Keep up an awesome work!
the memoryheads have been driving me crazy since undertale and even more since deltarune came out. the fact that theyre related to phones and that phones are related to gaster. the wrong number song, "beware the man that speaks in hands", "you dont need friends kris i can make my hands into phones", the garbage noise from kris's phone, jevil warning us about our "little cell"
what does it all mean
Something i noticed about the memory head sprite is that
Well look at the jaw? Or what ever the bottom part is , it looks like slash animation when you attack with a knife in the game.
I swear the RUclips algorithm is going crazy, I immediately clicked on a video after finishing this one and the first ad that played was an ad for Mcdonalds in Japanese
I've never smiled so much at someone describing an advertisement on one of my videos.
@@HalfBreadChaos Actually it wasn't on one of your videos but still pretty funny
Hey this isn't said enough. Your sprite work is really entertaining and I love the gags you throw in.
"is that a cut on your face or part of your eye" the mystery man sprite has two gashes from both of his eyes running up and down his face.....
@@ryanfelice5850 He was a war hero wasn’t he?
He could easily have been seen as a hero for fighting the enemy while seeing his own actions as evil.
Just a lil thought. But if the memory heads are related to the song in any way, i like the idea of the "in our hearts" being in plural because it's literally THEIR hearts. Would be a fun concept
It baffles me how you can still pave so much new ground in terms of theories for this series, considering the magnitude of coverage that has already been made
I genuinely look forward to every video here that comes out, these videos are so well made!
They all use the graphics for the overworld memory head, this very well could be like 4 memory heads cornering you or something.)
In my head ironically, I've forgotten about them over time.
What about the "Lorem Ipsum Docet" line? Which translates to "pain itself"
That can be connected with the hidden poem in Deltarune, that says "The pain itself is reason why."
Nevermind it's in the video LOL
Good video!
This is such an interesting theory. Undertale and Deltarune are my favorite games, so it’s really awesome to watch your channel. Keep up the greatness!

Unnecessary Japanese Lesson:
”っ” in "しかし こうかは なかった" means you should pose at the letter right before it when pronouncing.
≒君タチ二人ハ何ヲ考エル?(not so natural; a bit artificial)
Other information:
*Lancer's "おのれ Onore" doesn't mean "you" but this is an interjection(a bit classical and usually comical).
Onore! ≒ How dare you! ; Darn! ; I'm frustrated because of you! ; I'll fight back now! etc.
*Sans's "アンタも antamo" means "you too". "アンタ anta" is one word. (same as Alphys)
*Seam's "あんたらか anta-ra ka" might be the mistake of "あんたらが anta-ra ga".
"が ga" shows the word right before it is the subject, so "あんたら" is one word.
*Spamton's "アnタ AnTA" has two possibilities: "あんた anta" or "あなた anata"
*Rouxls's "you" is "汝(なんじ nanji)"
*Metatton's "I" is "ぼく boku"
*Asgore's "I" is "わたし watashi"

Don't forget (heh) that the title of the song is directy quoted in Undertale in Sans's Workshop on the hidden drawing if you talk to Clam Girl/Goner Clam. Perhaps 'Don't Forget' is directed at Sans.
In relation to magic, how is nobody bringing up Kris's apparent dark arts studies with Catti? Nobody ever talks about that interaction, but it's such an interesting one.

Deltarune theory's are the best.
name another series where you have to look up the Japanese slogan for MC Donald's to find clues
(But somehow I had my chapter one save???) I finally got to the basement and saw the face and thought,
“Damn. That’s pretty cool. Wonder who was so focused on that one spot to notice the face.”
But you have such good editing that it basically creates new content.
7:29 Wasn't expecting to get the jibblies. God, that's one hell of a throwback.

Hey, thanks for the shoutout! That post of mine is somewhat outdated but if it spreads more awareness about Everyman lore then I'm all for it.
Or it could be dess singing the song. In the chapter 3 leaks a lot of information was leaked. So I believe the knight is either dess or papyrus
In etac, I made the memory heads be the literal memories of the other timeliness, the more resets, the more memory heads.
“I can’t tell if that’s coincidence or intentional” really sums up undertale/deltarune lore
I just now was thinking, "I hope halfbreadchaos released a new video!" I got on RUclips, and saw that one was released six minutes ago.
lmao I was just rewatching the "Four Shadows" and the April 1 vid, good timing.
I love your videos so much!! They are so well put together, extremely entertaining, and they make it so much easier to make ties between games and other connections I otherwise wouldn’t have in this spaghetti lore ❤️❤️
i just beat the true lab in undertale and heres a video about an amalgamate
This has me convinced that gaster will be in the game for real, and that the pain dialogue is the opening dialogue to his fight

Overall the entire shape of the Memoryhead looks like a skull, and has such an odd connection with phones, glitching, dial up sounds (which is another form of phones being used on the internet, and the 'smell of batteries.' )
As for the 3's popping up WITH the Memoryhead, that is a very curious detail as 3 keeps appearing off and on in Deltarune as a theoretical number: the triad of heroes, the triad of ghosts that we have from Undertale, 3 corners of a triangle, delta waves are RGB, ect.
I like the subtle skooks reference you slipped in there with the "what I want to know is" and the ice lmfaooo
"i'm lovin it" could be sarcasm
Omg, I have been waiting to see another vid from you :D
These theories have helped me a lot in discovering mysterious things, I haven't looked into Deltarune code or theories before and your videos are very entertaining and informative. You make theorizing very fun!
One thing I would like to add, is that in the mysteries of 3's with the memory heads, if you call Papyrus in his battle area he will say "THIS IS WHERE I TRIED TO CAPTURE YOU! WHAT A TERRIBLE MEMORY."
In the genocide route, Papyrus's ATK and DEF are 3.. and in normal battle he will spare you after you fail to defeat him in 3 tries.
I've watched a lot of videos so I'll try to summarize something else I've noticed (It's Papyrus again, surprise)
In Deltarune, you've pointed out that if you sleep in the bed, it will skip the opening/school scene and you start in the Darkner world. If that's foreshadowing/a hint, it's heavily implying that Kris is in control when we're not. So Kris carries the story without us. Where am I going with this? WELL:
Did you know that Papyrus doesn't sleep?
Sans does claim that he reads Papyrus a bedtime story, but when Undyne stays over, she tells you that "And Papyrus himself doesn't??? Know how to sleep?"
So is it possible that Papyrus is in a similar state to Kris? And when one sleeps, the other is in control? Is this why Papyrus's head falls off when he's defeated?
The reason we don’t see reaperbird with their family is cause the mercenaries from the core live in the capital
The “is that a cut on your face or part of your eye” text also makes me think of Omega Flowey's eyes.(the way they initallyappear to be straight lines before his "actual eyes" open over them)
I mostly watch for the Undertale videos, but you do whatever you feel passionate doing,
I wonder if the Bad Memory inspiration comes from Pokemon "Bad EGG", they are corrupted Pokemon, you can't delete them and you end up putting them in a box...
Also sometimes Bad EGGs spread to other pokemons turning them into Bad EGGs as well.
Kinda... like what happens to the pickle in the fridge in Deltarune once you add an EGG... very very interesting.
kind of off topic but i really appreciate the FAQ comments you leave, as well as having closed captions on your videos. accessibility goes a far way!
Awesome as always breadman. Your editing style puts a big goofy grin on my face.
You can only theorize so much when we only have to chapters of a game after all
You're so awesome man especially because of how great your theories are!
I can definitely see Spamton's face on the left side of the memory head
I can't really, do I need to turn the sprite around?
So what I realized is:
In order to get a True Pacifist, every single monster in the Underground has to remember you.
Or in other words, you can't get a True Pacifist ending unless they don't forget you were with them in the dark.
0:10 i'm just gonna ignore that obvious paradox for now.
Why don’t you show it off”
When referring to krises soul?
I don’t think Kris is the Roaring Knight. A knight maybe.
Could just of been referencing his ability to close the fountain.
@@Left4Cake Yeah or a funny way to say "Begone demon" by calling Kris lucifer
@@flyingstonemon3564 To be fair Goats are also usally related too stan so perhaps Toby is just being a bit checky in regardes to the satan stuff.
When do you encounter that dialogue? "Is that a cut on your face, or part of your eye?" and all that stuff after that
Ah, I believe I got into more detail in the Gonercode video but, those are uh....
Finally
Yooo the nitty gritty of pokemon is so interesting!! I love your in-depth style of analysis so I'm super interested in what's to come! Great video as always bred, good sheet 😏
I thought the silverdrake amalgate had vegetoids on It's sides, I didn't expect icecap and the deer monster
A funny detail I noticed
"a book of magic, it seems most require orbs or floating hands"
pretty much 100% of fan content of gaster gives him floating hands
Just found you! Great channel, keep up the great work!
Interesting theory, what if KRIS sold their SOUL in a deal with the ‘Devil.’ This could also explain why gaster had Kris’s body to give you after gonermaker.
