You know Ferncloud doesn't get much love because for one thing she's a minor character for most of the series. She's just there making kittens and then she just stays as a permanent queen in the nursery even when she isnt pregnant or nursing kits. But I kind of like the idea that maybe being a warrior and fighting and wounding other cats just wasnt in her nature. Like maybe she just wanted to have a family and make an impact on young cats in her clan rather than cause harm. It was so heartbreaking when she died and then Dustpelt got wounded and then he didnt even fight for his life he just let go because he couldn't stand being away from Ferncloud. I just love this so much.
Honestly- I feel perhaps Ferncloud deciding to be equivalent of stay at home mother in Warriors and in the nursery may have been decided due to all the death she witnessed as an apprentice, warrior and young mother. She felt happier and more fulfilled as a mother and possibly even afraid of dying in battle. And as a Queen she was a lot safer so even when she couldn't have anymore kits or wasn't nursing she stayed in nursery to help care of others. And really could anyone blame her? She had to watch a lot of cats she love die or get injured and she couldn't do anything to save them.
Ikr, literally ALL minor characters are underlooked, just because they’re MINOR CHARACTERS, like, that’s annoying, and in example, in my opinion I’d find it very unique for a character to live a life of a minor character, like watch the “hero” from the side, OR the main character dies in a minor character way, like when Snowkit got carried off by a hawk or Snowfur hit by a monster.
But if you compare her to ashfur.. well ashfur lost two siblings, his mom was MURDERED, faced a war as an apprentice and killed a man with his own claws as an apprentice, his adoptive brother is temporarily abducted, his friend dies and his other friend is permanently badly injured in the same accident, then his two friends (bramble and squirrel) disappear and theres a prophecy that theyre going to be evil or something- and meanwhile his home is being destroyed around him- his sister loses most of her children (and also is distant from him), and then he goes on this long journey while being completely alone. when he reaches the new home, he finally has a small group of friends, including squirrelflight. he defends squirrelflight from brambleclaw who is indeed being an absolute prick, but in the end squirrelflight still leaves him out of nowhere for bramble, and takes the rest of that friend group with her, so ash is once again alone. then he meets hawkfrost, watches him die horrifically to the same cat who also took away squirrelflight despite acting like a p.o.s the whole time, then he gets assigned an asshole of an apprentice who always contradicts and fights him. while not justifiable, i can certainly see how by the time the fire scene rolled around, this guy might not have been in the best mental state. and thats not even counting how squirrelflight, formerly his closest friend, gives him the cold shoulder and avoids him at all costs the moment she gets with brambleclaw. she literally NEVER talks to him again also. theres a scene in twilight where she acts extra loving to ashfur, looks over to see brambleclaw staring at them looking upset and hurt, and she feels a rush of satsifaction and pride in herself for making him look like that. literally thats how its written.
and legit NO ONE remembers him for that, all they remember him is for his fire scene and how he's a simp and stuff.. he may not have the saddest story ever, but we shouldnt just make maps of his heartbreak from squilf. so thats my tedtalk thanks for coming

They cried together over their mom's death, they fought together over their dad's death, they were always there for eachother over her kit's deaths. She *won't* accept that her brother, the only one who stuck around for her through thick and thin, tried to kill three cats.
It’s so sad to see their relationship. If my boy Ashfur lived, they wouldve talked it over and probably make up (in my opinion) they were de cute together as siblings.
You forgot to mention and also succeeded in killing Firestar once too 😅 But yeah, she was such a sweet cat and sister. I feel like she would always try to find the best in others and her brother was no exception to her. There's no doubt that she would be in denial over not wanting to believe that her brother did such awful things.
She had two other siblings aside from Ashfur- Elderkit and Tulipkit. They died soon after birth. Poor Ferncloud. I find it fitting that she died fighting Brokenstar- a tyrant known for his cruelty to kits. She was sort of like a counterpart to him if I’m making any sense at all.
No one ever realizes how hard of a life FernCloud had.. This was made so beautifully and showed each and every detail of how the deaths of her mother, brother, kin, etc. Effected her. Beautifully done!!

This absolutely AMAZING! I love that ferncloud gets at least a little bit of recognition now. She lost so many loved ones, but she still stayed a strong character, taking care of kits for thunderclan and being a good mate to Dustpelt. This map is what we need, it shows the sad life of background characters even when no one pays attention to them, now, thanks to this map, I can see that background characters have just as much importance as any other character, it shows that Dustpelt really loved her, and I guess if any one who hates or dislikes Ferncloud watches this, then they will see her MUCH differently, Rest In Peace Ferncloud, you've served the clan well and you were a great mother, and I know that you tried your best to comfort Ashfur

I feel bad for Ferncloud for all she suffered, but also inspired by how she perservered despite it all, she was a truly strong character, unlike her brother Ashfur who fell completely to evil over one unreciprocated love. I feel like if Ferncloud gone with the Lights in The Mist to the Dark Forest to confront the evil that dwelt there, she'd have been disgusted by what her brother had become.

I loved it how she went rabid wolf on Bone in revenge for killing her father. She had such a rough life. Her mother was killed by a jerk. Her kits died. Her beloved clan member got hurt. Her brother died. This map made me cry actually. 0:33 Derpy Fireheart.

She could’ve but, I think her being a queen is the best thing. She was one of the hearts in the clan, along with Daisy. Without them, many kits could’ve died.
In the last scene tears came to my eyes. Everyone is here saying “poor ferncoud” and I agree but what about Dustpelt? He lost his mate of many years and then SPOILERS: his daughter. He went through so much freaking heartbreak loosing 6/7 kits then his mate. It’s sad
I just admire Ferncloud, her family was dying around her when she was so young. Despite that she is never seen as such a major character in the series. And after whitestorm was killed, Ashfur was the only cat who understood all the way, and dustpelt. But then Ashfur was killed by hollyleaf. Imagine your only surviving brother being killed by someone in the clan and you don't know. But in the end, ashfur chose his own path, despite knowing what his sister will have to go through emotionlaly. In the end it was dustpelt.
I always start crying when she imagines the kits, when her whole family is standing at her back and when Dustpelt sees the little furball between his paws. 😥
Fern cloud didn’t get the love she deserved she raised half clan 50 percent of her children died and she carried on and then when she died her death was over shadowed by fire stars
Ferncloud deserved so much better. She went through so much in her life. Both of her parents died when she was young, Brindleface to the dogs and Whitestorm to Bone. I can’t even remember if she was a warrior when when Whitestorm died, but even if she was she would still have been a young one. So many of her kits died as well and I can only imagine how heartbreaking that is. And on top of all of it? Her brother is Ashfur. I don’t think I need to go into detail here. She was a permanent queen, which suited her well and she played such an important role, even if it was under-appreciated at times. But even so, she died the death of a true warrior.
This is sooo beautiful! I’ve been a fan of Ferncloud for literally years, and I’m so glad she’s getting the respect she deserves!! I wish there was more content of her too ❤️ but anyway, this was absolutely beautiful and I’m so glad I came across it!
Now I am going to say this Ferncloud was never my favorite character BUT she was a great mom and had so many of her kits die she was a second mother to any litter wheater it was or wasn’t her’s she stayed strong for all her life before she died fighting for all of her kits whether they were her’s or not she is everyone’s mother and she deserves love

I actually was re-reading her death today, and it was also today i saw this MAP for the first time. Actually, she had a very hard life. Her mother, Brindleface, killed by Tigerclaw when she was very young, and her father Redtail, (i think?) also killed by Tigerclaw. Her two littermates Tulipkit and Elderkit died young, Shrewpaw, Larchkit and Hollykit also died. Her brother Ashfur was killed. Later, in the great battle, her other son, Foxleap, died of his battle wounds. Ferncloud was also killed in the great battle by Brokenstar while she was defending the nursery. She had a very hard life. Im glad she brought happiness into grumpy Dustpelts life before she died. TT And one thing i hate is that the Erins only killed her off because the fans thought she was too boring and had too many kits. Please - you guys that are Ferncloud-haters, turn your gaze at another place, look on Snowbird for an example if you think she had to many kits. Ferncloud had 7 and Snowbird had a bunch of 9. ❤ Poor, gentle, Ferncloud
Tbh I love Ferncloud, Not in my top ten but shes 11. She gets two ones. And for those who say that Dustpelt x Ferncloud is creepy bc they were warrior x app f u. Dustpelt really warmed my heart in Bramblestars Storm. He didn’t even fight. Their love was something strong that not even death can separate. I loved it how she went rabid wolf on Bone in revenge for killing her father. She had such a rough life. Her mother was killed by a jerk. Her kits died. Her beloved clan member got hurt. Her brother died. This map made me cry actually. 0:33 Derpy Fireheart.

She could’ve but, I think her being a queen is the best thing.
She was one of the hearts in the clan, along with Daisy. Without them, many kits could’ve died.
True true her role was pretty important as well
She would have politely refused and told Firestar that she was happy as a queen.

In the last scene tears came to my eyes. Everyone is here saying “poor ferncoud” and I agree but what about Dustpelt? He lost his mate of many years and then SPOILERS: his daughter. He went through so much freaking heartbreak loosing 6/7 kits then his mate. It’s sad

I just admire Ferncloud, her family was dying around her when she was so young. Despite that she is never seen as such a major character in the series. And after whitestorm was killed, Ashfur was the only cat who understood all the way, and dustpelt. But then Ashfur was killed by hollyleaf. Imagine your only surviving brother being killed by someone in the clan and you don't know. But in the end, ashfur chose his own path, despite knowing what his sister will have to go through emotionlaly. In the end it was dustpelt.

Fern cloud didn’t get the love she deserved she raised half clan 50 percent of her children died and she carried on and then when she died her death was over shadowed by fire stars
When dustpelt has some moss or fur in his paws when he was gonna sleep, i starting crying causei know the feeling
This made me feel bad for Ferncloud, I actually kind of cried when one of her kits died-
Ferncloud deserved so much better. She went through so much in her life. Both of her parents died when she was young, Brindleface to the dogs and Whitestorm to Bone. I can’t even remember if she was a warrior when when Whitestorm died, but even if she was she would still have been a young one. So many of her kits died as well and I can only imagine how heartbreaking that is. And on top of all of it? Her brother is Ashfur. I don’t think I need to go into detail here.
She was a permanent queen, which suited her well and she played such an important role, even if it was under-appreciated at times. But even so, she died the death of a true warrior.

This is sooo beautiful! I’ve been a fan of Ferncloud for literally years, and I’m so glad she’s getting the respect she deserves!! I wish there was more content of her too ❤️ but anyway, this was absolutely beautiful and I’m so glad I came across it!

Ferncloud was never my favorite character BUT she was a great mom and had so many of her kits die she was a second mother to any litter wheater it was or wasn’t her’s she stayed strong for all her life before she died fighting for all of her kits whether they were her’s or not she is everyone’s mother and she deserves love

I actually was re-reading her death today, and it was also today i saw this MAP for the first time. Actually, she had a very hard life. Her mother, Brindleface, killed by Tigerclaw when she was very young, and her father Redtail, (i think?) also killed by Tigerclaw. Her two littermates Tulipkit and Elderkit died young, Shrewpaw, Larchkit and Hollykit also died. Her brother Ashfur was killed. Later, in the great battle, her other son, Foxleap, died of his battle wounds. Ferncloud was also killed in the great battle by Brokenstar while she was defending the nursery. She had a very hard life. Im glad she brought happiness into grumpy Dustpelts life before she died. TT And one thing i hate is that the Erins only killed her off because the fans thought she was too boring and had too many kits. Please - you guys that are Ferncloud-haters, turn your gaze at another place, look on Snowbird for an example if you think she had to many kits. Ferncloud had 7 and Snowbird had a bunch of 9. ❤ Poor, gentle, Ferncloud
Tbh I love Ferncloud, Not in my top ten but shes 11. She gets two ones. And for those who say that Dustpelt x Ferncloud is creepy bc they were warrior x app f u. Dustpelt really warmed my heart in Bramblestars Storm. He didn’t even fight. Their love was something strong that not even death can separate. Ferncloud is really strong cat, even though she isn’t a warrior. Love her

Honestly- I feel perhaps Ferncloud deciding to be equivalent of stay at home mother in Warriors and in the nursery may have been decided due to all the death she witnessed as an apprentice, warrior and young mother. She felt happier and more fulfilled as a mother and possibly even afraid of dying in battle. And a Queen was a lot safer so even when she couldn't have anymore kits or wasn't nursing she stayed in nursery to help care of others. And really could anyone blame her?
