Thank you! I was able to change my engine air filter on my ‘19 Sport 2.0 after watching your video. $50 for OEM engine and cabin filters on eBay, saving $88 vs. dealer charge of $138.
My dealer offered to charge 186$ to do both the engine and cabin filters while my car was in for a free recall service, which is a huge rip off. I just did the cabin one myself and intend to do the engine one today for a total cost on filters of like 65$ because I spent a bit extra on a nicer cabin filter.
Thanks for the videos. I have a 2019 2.0 Sport with PRL catless downpipe, PRL front pipe, PRL intercooler, and a K-tuner stage 2 tune. I just did the k&n drop in filter for now. Personally I would recommend you ditch the music in your videos. It just distracts from the content in my opinion.
Honda wanted $175 to replace engine and cabin air filters (Califr0nia) I paid $25 for filters on line saving me a substantial amount of money and it only took me 20 minutes! Thanks
Will you please show filter location in honda 2020 accord touring and how to change it if possible? It looks like filter location is different than previous Accord.
I like your videos, but the exposure seems to always be too bright. Just a suggestion, but maybe manually set your exposure also so the brightness isn't always jumping up and down when you move your arm in the shot. I'm just picky though because I do photography on the side.
I just purchased an accord sport 2019 was thinking if I install a oil catch can would it void my warranty north of the border keep up the great tutorials
Thank you for the watch and comment. In the U.S., so I am told (I am in no position to give legal advise) legally the dealership would have to prove that the modification resulted in the problem that you're looking for them to remedy per the Magnuson-Moss Act. However, this doesn't mean that the dealership wouldn't give you a hard time or try to deny you service.
It’s almost 15$ for the oem air filter when yesterday at the dealership they wanted to charge me almost 70$ just to change it out and like 50$ to change my cabin air filters
Starting to feel like this project car is not a project car at all! Let’s see some stuff done! Did you get your springs or coil overs? I watched your video on that several time times. Play the huge part in how a chose my springs. Thanks for that! Oh and the install was ez. But I have the sport, I think you have the touring.
I think my wife would disagree... with that said, it's been difficult given our current environment as the dyno shop has been closed, and a lot of what I want to do is test various individual mods to really see what the power gains are. So, under the circumstances I've had to improvise, hopefully just for a little while longer. Hang in there.
The Lemon Factor! Oooh.ok. I did a lot of stuff to my accord so far. First thing was the drop. But engine wise, Started to run like crap. But I wasn’t going to get tuned after every upgrade. Parked it for a month. Prl intake, prl civic type r inlet, prl front pipe and down pipe. 3 inch custom exhaust, prl flex fuel kit. Hondata stage 2 tune. Prl is gonna make drop in turbo soon! I got dyno tuned yesterday at 374. It’s a significant gain but I installed everything myself. I’m wondering for someone who has to pay for their installs. If it’s worth it for those gains. My initial thought is no but I’m cheap. And I do have to factor in this platform is not 2 years old yet.
@@xgnofearzthe10thgenlegend82 wow bro you gained 122 hp with all those mods? Thats amazing man. Have you took it to drag strip? If so what are your times? And one more question, how much did everything cost you in total?
When we removed the filter and looked down into the filter box, there was a handful of dog food in it. It was definitely dog food from our garage. How is it possible to have gotten in the filter box.
Very strange 😯. I don’t know why that is. If I had to guess, you might have a rodent problem, where they’re stealing your dog’s food and hiding it in the car. I’ve known and heard of many cases where they’ve nested within the car somewhere 🤷♂️
From strictly a performance perspective? - I think there are better ways to spend your money to produce gains. With that said, if you’re to get one, a closed box style would be best.
@@TheLemonFactor I agree on bang for buck compared to k-tuner. Mishimoto touts “max power gains of 15.6 whp and 12.9 wtq while maintaining safe A/F ratios - no tune required.” Wonder if that’s true - any thoughts on these claims? Oil vs dry filters?
I’ve never found manufacturers claims regarding power production to be repeatable by independent third parties. That’s not to say they don’t produce gains, just not to the exaggerated extent that they quote 🤷♂️
@@TheLemonFactor Not to say I do not do it on my own, for I do. Like you said in the video it is significantly cheaper to do it yourself. I had a 1995, 2003, and now a 2012 Honda Accord and the filter was always difficult to get out because of the location under the hood. I am glad to see the newer models are a lot easier and have the clips and not the screws like my previous models.
@@TheLemonFactor I do not drive that much now that I am back home (in NYC). Only miles I put on are when I go to CT to see family. This car will probably will be my last purchase. I love Honda Accords - they last forever.
sitting at a honda service shop now... was quoted $65 for a engine filter replacement and quickly found this video. saved me almost $40!
Damn 😩. Well, I’m glad you found the video and saved some money 😁👍
I’m in a Honda service shop right now and this video did the same for me. I can appreciate this comment! Cheers Honda Brothers!
@mack1691 👍😁
Wow, I was able to do this and my cabin air filter for 60 bucks! Thank you for your help.

That's awesome! Always nice to be able to do these regular maintenance items yourself, while saving a bunch of money in the process.
why not get the k&n filter instead?

Where did you find your filters if I may ask?

This was easy, thank you! Where I live it’s about $275-$300 to replace a Honda engine filter so thank you for saving me some cash!
Awesome! So glad to hear the video was helpful 👍😁
Great content. The background music is a bit distracting though.
I like the way my K&N filter sounds. It sounds smoother and not straining to breathe.

Nice setup, I hope to get there at some point. As I do, I'd like to dyno each component to see the real impact each provides.
Just changed mine, it was filthy after 20000 miles....thanks for the great vid 👍

Is there also a turbo air filter that needs to be replaced? First time changing filters by myself - thank you!
The engine air filter shown here feeds into the turbo 👍
I bought mine straight from the manufacturer K&N and it offered a 5.00 off incentives. Total 48.00 shipped to Florida from Riverside California.
Will you please show filter location in honda 2020 accord touring and how to change it if possible? It looks like filter location is different than previous Accord.
The air filter box location did not change in the 2020 model year Honda Accords. Do you have a 1.5 or 2.0L?
Just put one in mine after 12 months. The original from Honda was not too dirty at all.
👍

Which air filter do we buy? I didn't catch which brand and number.
Do you know if there is a fuel filter on a 2018 Honda Accord lx

I want stock type or dry air.
is it the same process for the 1.5?
The engine bay layout and location of things, attachments, etc. may be slightly different, but the process should be the same.
2020 Honda Accord 2.0T touring model takes K&N filter 33-5074 .
Sadly enough the older Honda Accords aren’t that easy to change. Plus Honda has it located in a place that makes it hard to get the cover off.
😕
