I replaced the cabin filter last year using your video and I'm back to replace the filter again. Your video is very helpful and top notch. $15 for the filter & 5 minutes of work beats the service call at the dealership.
Yup! Dealer will charge you $70 most likely and you'll have to wait 2 hours
The fact that they were charging me 80 for this is crazy. This video is 3 minutes long and they will probably take way less doing this since they know all the steps.
$80!? Where at!?
Exactly. I could have done it quicker if I wasn't recording either.
My Honda dealer just tried charging $89.99.
This is so much better than what had to be done with the 2001 Honda Accord EX
Agreed! I have to take off several screws in the Chevy to gain access whereas this is insanely simple
Nice and Easy, Thank you! Saved me the beer money for the weekend 😊
@@hancybikash cheers! 🍻
Thank you! Very helpful. I found your vid easier to follow than another person’s on YT.
Glad to hear! I've learned a lot from the comment section
Thank you much. I was wondering about the arrow side and you solved the problem. Arrow can also be on the side, I learned that here. Thanks again.
Glad I could help!
Honda wanted to charge me $174 to replace my cabin air filter and engine filter. I went to Auto Zone and bought the filters for my 2013 Honda for a total of $49. It took me 5 minutes to replace the filters 😁 Easy peasy. Thanks for your video!
That's insaneeeee....
Even AutoZone charges so much for the filters. You can get both on Amazon for like $25-$30
Write a review on that Honda dealership
@@Striker50_ I know I it would be cheaper to order the filters on Amazon, but I just wanted to get it done and off my to-do list so I bought them from AutoZone.
Thank you for this. It’s very easy to follow
Glad you found it useful it's so easy! $10 vs $40 at a mechanic shop 😒
Thank you! You are saving everyone their money!
I got bamboozled years ago, and Said I was going to try to help others avoid it 🤘
Thank you for taking the time with this video first time changing it exactly what you said thank you
Glad it helped! I got scammed by a mechanic for $55 when this took 2 minutes
This was a great video and explanation. Thanks!
I appreciate that 🙏
I wish I could re-make this video since my editing, and cameras and everything have gotten better since, but it's helping a lot of people which is awesome.
I'm going to make one on our Silverado soon. Chevy wants $99 to replace that one!
Hey, this was great. My cabin air filter was FILTHY!
Thanks.
Glad to know it helped!
Thank you very much. Great video.
Glad you found value in it!
Thank you sooo much for this video, Honda wanted to charge me $90 to replace this lol
You're kidding.....
Leave a 1-star review on Google Maps or something. The service departments are getting out of hand, and the worst part is they pay the technician a small fraction of that
lol yeah, they quoted me $120 for it today
@@chintanjani HOLY heckkkkk that's egregious... file that to the BBB at that point that's wilddd.
Lol 154+tax smh appreciate this vid bro🙏🏽 That’s NYC for you
@@DonnCorleone876 Man it breaks my heart to see dealers not even try to hide it anymore. There are probably Millions of people paying that too
Thanks. Sweet and to the point.
Glad it helped!
Great video!
Thanks!
Going to do one on the Duramax soon too.
Chevy wants $90 to replace that one!!!!
Thanks for this video! Making sure to check mine now.
Let me know how it looks 🤞
@@Striker50_ Just did! Looks pretty new - just bought a Certified Pre-owned Accord the end of Feb, so it looks like they handled it already. But its awesome to see how easy it is to check for myself in the future.
@@ericecho5118 Yes! And good thing you checked, because now you now for sure if it's been taken care of or not
@@Striker50_ Yes indeed - and thank you for checking back with me! :)
@@ericecho5118 always 🙏
My latch feels jammed after I opened this up. Now it takes a good bit of force to close and it and springs back open. It has to do with the latch on the right. Any idea what’s going on with that?
Did you push the latch on the right all the way up to ensure it snaps into place? You will hear a click when the right arm snaps into place.
Try pushing it all the way up and back down as well to ensure it has full range of motion
I like seeing what kind of trees people park under by what is in their cabin filters 😂
Lol it's a lovely tree certainly
Awesome easy step by step. Thank you so much for posting.
Saved you that $40+ dollar charge from the mechanic shops
Hello, I was able to install the cabin filter, but when i tried to install it where it has the writing that arrow pointing downwards facing me, it would NOT fit, not able to close the plastic cover, but i was able to install it from the side. is that ok?
Try rotating the filter 90 degrees to see if it makes it easier and let me know if that is better 👍
Easy! Thank you!
Super easy right?! Thanks for putting up with my shaky recording lol
With the help of your video, I did successfully get my cabin filter in. The latch to the right afterwards did not seem to cooperate, but any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you!
Nice! Are you referencing the damper on the right? You want to pull it down, and use one hand to hold the glove box, and the other to pop the latch so it clicks into place
i don't have a latch and i have a 2019 ... is there another way to pull it down?
Interesting, you should just be able to push both ends in to have it drop down like I do. Check to see if it's not pushed up into that opening, some mechanics may forget to pull that little latch arm on the far right back down
Great video. Straight to the point and under 4 minutes. No long intro and talking for 5 minutes before you start.
Yeah I try to get straight to the point in most of my vids thanks for the acknowledgement 👌
2019 accord hybrid here and I wanted to ask if all cars have that cover that you took off before accessing the filter?? I feel like I had it and when I took the car in for service dealer never put it back.
@@Camilo316 If you can see the white filter, most likely they forgot to add the cover
@@Striker50_you talking about the dealer?
@@Camilo316 yes if the cover is missing
Is the word airflow supposed to to be on the side or the front cuz originally my filter came from the side??
You'll notice the shape is not quite a square, so there's only one way to slide the filter in
My glove compartment closes but it just drops down quickly instead of gently. Why is that? The latch is attached but does not seem to do anything
Did it previously close softly?
Perhaps try unfastening the latch arm slide it up and down and see if that helps
Thank you!
Of course! They tried charging me $40 for this! The filter is only $10 and it takes 2 minutes!
What's up with the gloves? Do I only use 1 glove to do this job?
I was making other Accord videos this day back to back so I already had the glove on and must have forgotten to take it off 🤣
Bro, I replaced the cabin filter. The small latch that hooks on to the glove compartments keeps hitting the top not letting the glove compartment close.. did I do something wrong? Lol
The latch on the right? Make sure to pull it down and assure it clips in place
Very nice job. thank you. I'm putting one on order right now
Wicked let me know how it goes
Great video, could you please share the pard number?
Thank you, and yes, I have the filter linked I pinned it here in the top of the comment section and the description of the video on my Amazon storefront
Thanks, I was wondering if it was diff than my toyota...
Is it the same?
@@Striker50_ yes...
Can you share the amazon link of the Air filter
PHILTOP Cabin Air Filter,... www.amazon.com/dp/B08MTGDXQR?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
When should we change the filter? After how many KM?
I know 15,000 to 25,000miles. If you're somewhere very dusty or sandy, you should probably change it every 15,000 miles since the filter is more likely to clog with all of the smaller particles; thanks for watching by the way!
Thank you!
Every other oil change is easy to remember.
Thanks bro…..!!!!
Anytime 🙏 save that cheese 💰💰
My glove box doesn’t closeee! Help please I don’t know what I’m doing wrong
I figured it’s the hook latch that’s not letting the glove box close but still not sure why it’s not closing
no worries, 3 things to check:
1) assure the filter housing cover securely fastens into place.
2) push the flexible tabs on the side of the glove box back in
3)make sure the side arm hook latch securely fastens by pulling it back toward you and hearing it snap into place@@vincescienceandfitness2421
Honda wants $89.95 for this I said NO THANK YOU … 2 Min Job with $15 Filter😂😂😂😂
Dealers are getting out of control...
We just picked up a Mazda this week and they wanted $3,400 just on dealer accessory add-ons
Can you tell part number
I have the filter linked in the comments and in the description of the video 👍
Mine wont close anymore
Make sure the filter cover clips in and you push the glove box plastic back in 👍
Not as easy as he makes it look, but I got it done.
Any particular areas that were a challenge?
@@Striker50_ Squeezing glove compartment together to make it drop down took a lot more force than I was expecting. Putting the front cover back on over the filter is a tight area and I am not sure if it is totally clipped in right, but it seemed to be in place. Next the engine air filter.
You want to push near the back of the glove box where the clips are and simultaneously pull down slightly. It is flexible plastic.
For the cover to clip back on, it's an awkward angle so one may have to sit outside the vehicle door jam, or hunch over to get a better look
I have an engine air filter video, it's a K&N filter I am installing, but same steps apply: ruclips.net/video/ybJKwZdCWdU/видео.html @@garywilliams1162
your new filter is also dirty, why is that.
This car hadn't had it changed since new most likely and was occasionally parked under a tree hence the pink flower
now to buy a cabin filter for $20-30 and change it myself instead of paying $80 for the service center to do it
You can easily find them for $12-$20
@@Striker50_ whereeee?
@@misfitcentral837 brothaaaa Amazon. I literally link everything I use in the description and comment section
They charge 161 dollars. Oh my gosh
You're kidding...
Put them on blast on Google maps and yelp
you should have used a shop vac and vacuum the inside before putting in the new filter since is been 54,000 miles since you never change it before and it look so filthy. You had already taken it out, why not just take the extra step to vacuum it? Common sense don't you think?
It wasn't so bad but thanks for the tip 👍
Charging 140
