Hi Chris, Erik made a good challenge and I thought my Chinese Loco was a good example of a Frankenstein Loco. It really is a smooth runner for a ringfield motor. All the best, Paul.👍👍🙏
That's a darn good job. I bought a cheap Chinese thing for the kid and it just ate batteries. I had another previously and lasted 6 months with about 1 hour use every week. So then i bought some Tomix gear. Big improvement.
Hi Thanks very much for the kind comments its most appreciated. I have a number of modified Diesels where I have fitted cut down bodies onto various chassis. I like to keep my old brain working so these projects are good challenges. I am hoping to show most of them in Sundays video. Cheers, Paul.👍👍🙏
Wow, it's running so smoothly, really impressive! It's a really nice Frankenstein model, I keep on liking it very much, just as I like your Ludmini and a lot of your projects! Cheers 🙋♂️ Erik
Hi Erik, I am glad you made the challenge or I probably wouldnt have run the Chinese Loco for a long time. I am surprised how well it runs after so long on a shelf. I hope some others take up your challenge there must be a number of Frankenstein Locos out there. Cheers, Paul.👍👍🙏
Hi Anthony, Erik from Railways 187 has made a number of modified Locos and he thought a challenge to see if others had a Frankenstein Loco they might want to show. My Chinese Loco was a good example of mixing parts. Cheers, Paul.👍👍🙏
You did an excellent job with this conversion. I like Lima motors, with the right maintenance and lubrication they can become much smoother and quieter.
Hi Patrick, thanks so much for the kind comments. I have converted a number of Diesel Locos some on Lima Chassis, some on Piko BR218 Chassis. I really like Lima Locos and have fitted 12v CD motors to many of mine but now and again the Lima Ringfield motors can be made to run very well so I leave them alone. All the best, Paul.👍👍🙏.
@@paulvozman842 I've got a Lima FS E424, its motor is incredibly quiet and smooth running. The typical noise reminds me of the sound these DC rheostatic locomotives made in real life.
@@patricksmodels Hi Patrick, I have the Lima E111 and E151 which are very quiet and smooth running . I have noticed the E Locos ringfield motors tend to be better than the Diesel models for some reason. I have used the Chassis from these Locos in two Diesel projects as my Layout is for Steam and Diesels. Cheers, Paul.
Hi, Thanks for watching and the kind comment. I enjoy making these hiybrids, especially this one as it went from a toy to a working model. All the best, Paul.👍👍🙏
Hi, Paul! Very interesting conversion, the more so this heavily modified locomotive runs so smooth. Thanks for sharing, cheers!
