Thanks a lot Vijay Bharadwaj avare for this wonderful interview with all time legend GRV. We never forget the square cut of GRV. I also grew up at Basavanagudi (Surveyors street , baandunavara beedi) )in the late 70s and I had an opportunity to witness GRV, Vijay Kumar (Karnataka opener), Vijaya Krishna, SudhakarRao and many others practicing at National College grounds under City Cricketers club, if I remember correctly. It was like heaven living among legends those days in Basavanagudi, GRV is the one of the humble and talented cricketers that India has ever produced. Vijay , Its really a great job and we appreciate it. Please continue with it.
ಅಪ್ಪಟ ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರು....Great batsman india has every produced ....remember watching cricket on tv for the first time in 1982 during India - England series... another interesting thing here is i was in 7th grade and school was in NR colony... we used to go to Actor Dwarakish house to watch the game during lunch time...Dwarakish son was my classmate
The ultimate gentleman cricketer. If the spirit of cricket and sportsmanship had a face, it will resemble GRV sir.

Your one statement about Vishy that just like one and only Rajkumar one and only Vishwanath is very much true because during 1970s and early 80s Vishwanath was the next most popular person after Rajkumar in Karnataka particularly in Bangalore. He was also affectionately addressed as ANNAVRU just like Dr Rajkumar by fans. We were big fans(fanatics) of Dr.Raj and Vishy those days. I remember when ever vishy got out without getting much runs in Bangalore Test Matches 100s of would curse the very game and come out of stadium. We would be tense during Vishy's batting until he scores sizeable runs but of course at the same time enjoy every moment of his batting. There would be a huge hue and cry in the Bangalore stadium even when he was chasing a ball to field. Such was the craze he had created. Golden days.

My favourite.....I have cycled all the way..to wherever he used to play..... fortunate to have met him in a musical show and had a snap with him..... my first match to watch was in 1969.... south zone vs Aus... I jumped the bamboo barricade to go and touch him..as a 10 year old boy 😁

Very nice interview.Interviwer could have asked Tony Greig's lifting GRV and other stories like Silver Jubilee incidence, century at Port of Spain etc.No issue once again interview him with more interesting information about him
Even today he is still rated as my best player I have seen or heard.
GRV once again proves all biggies are humble and down to earth! Gentleman he is.

Nothing wrong in telling facts.. Sanjay lost out because of there was a superstar like RD replacing him... Otherwise he was a decent cricketer
But Vijay is a mediocre commentator as like manjarekar I meant that check my statement again if you want I've mentioned him as a great cricketers
